People also forget he's 21. I don't care how smart you are, at 21 you simply don't have the life experiences that act as informed filters and he's not afraid to voice his opinion. If that threatens some in the establishment, more power to him. I can see him using a successful football career as a platform to support his positions and, again, I say more power to him.

I've seen several article citing ex-teammates extolling his virtues as a teammate and leader. They are on record. Conversely, I've only seen anonymous charges to the contrary. He's bright, opinionated, and not afraid to put himself out there and if chewing out a teammate because he screwed up an assignment is wrong, give me more. I remember Kelly's first game vs. the Jest back in the day and he was chewing out his lineman and telling them to give him more time because guys were getting open. Ask Chris Burkett how long he lasted when held accountable by Kelly. I like the fact he won't shy away from telling a 10 year vet to get with it. Goes with the territory of the position.

Somebody is getting packaged in a trade to TB is my guess. Moving up to 7 puts us in a position to ease the fears of Indy or NYG missing out on a non QB player they like. If Cleveland, Jest, and Broncos go QB, that non QB player they like will slip to 7. Some great prospect is going to fall.

Training camp fodder usually don't get two year deals. Not saying he won't end up getting cut, but the length of the deal tells me they are interested on more than a space filler basis.

Wasn't invited to the combine in his draft year, but turned heads at his pro day. Small school guy out of Wagner.

Better question is, did he commit himself to learning to block?

He's got a rep among pro personnel scouts around the league.

In a word? Work ethic. Dedication to his craft. Extra hours in the weight and film rooms. Being first in, last out, always on time. Commitment to a 24/7, 365 program; the desire and discipline required to make it his life and not just something to do because he's good at it between gigs. Need I go on?

He's the antithesis of "the process."

All the physical talent in the world. Matched only by his complete lack of football character. Some team is going to fall in love with his athleticism and take a chance, again, but I doubt he grows up enough to make the sacrifices necessary to be a pro.

Imagine if the greatest minds in history were really like that. Thankfully, Hawking and others like him possessed a learning spirit always willing to be edified. Must have been frustrating at times in a world full of only a few that actually could teach him something about astrophysics, etc.

It’s really not much of a debate. Rosen has been the leader in the clubhouse since the college season started. Not much has changed. It’s all a matter of degrees, anyway. But what separates him is very important at the next level: ball placement. I like Darnold and Mayfield, too, but they aren’t as polished yet.

Just saw him on last Sunday with Neil DeGrasse Tyson on ‘Star Talk’. Great episode. Great man. RIP, professor.

I know several pro scouts that don't have Allen ranked above Darnold. Mayock is good, but he's not a scout. He just doesn't have the kind of time and freedom necessary to be where the rubber meets the road from August through January. He's the best at what he does, imo, but he is not a scout.
