  1. Never gave it moment’s thought. All the handwringing over something we never had always struck me as childish.
  2. Your previous praise or criticism is not relevant to the narrow discussion of his 4th quarter comebacks and game winning drives relative to his peers that I introduced, so there’s no need to be defensive about it. I have as big a problem with Allen’s turnovers as anyone else. I just don’t have a problem with taking a positive and immediately putting a negative spin on it. You and others apparently do. Enough said.
  3. I can’t speak to all of your praise or criticism of Allen as I haven’t read it all. And I don’t really care one way or the other. What I know is, in this particular exchange, I initially pointed out his high percentage of 4th quarter comebacks and game winning drives compared to his peers and you saw fit to suggest he wouldn’t even be in those situations if he could put up more points. You took a positive and immediately put a negative spin on it. And so it begged the question. Stupid as you seem fit to make it.
  4. Because lost in all the over the top criticism of his performance, the good aspects of his play get lost, ignored, or tossed out completely. It’s a legit question for his critics.
  5. Pavlov’s dog really wanted to believe, too.
  6. He had Goaloffson on his right wing ready to take an easy drop pass, so he had options. I also think the goalie was screened. But any time the puck goes through the five hole wickets, it doesn’t look good for the goalie.
  7. Of course. As we all would. Does anything Allen demonstrates on the field indicate anything positive at all?
  8. Allen has led a 4th quarter comeback or game winning drive in 38% of his starts. Can Darnold, Mayfield, Jackson, or Murray claim the same?
  9. Last season, Foster also stayed for the bye and him and Allen established some chemistry as a result. Hmm.
  10. Perhaps Dahlin’s worst game as a pro and yet he still found a way to help us offensively. Jack atoned in a big way after the gaffe in Columbus. This team has only been together for a month and the coaches are still trying to figure out what they have. Nice to be banking points in the meantime. Friday will be a test as the Panthers match up well against us and always give us fits. Onward and upward.
  11. More of your dime store pop psychology. Sorry to disappoint Dr. Freud, but I was just enjoying the good natured banter. I wish you luck in your ever present quest to deny reality. Maybe you and those college coaches can start a campaign to get those pesky forward pass rules changed.
  12. Good for you. But alas, it’s still a forward pass as defined by the rules.
  13. My sentiments on every single rule in the NFL rule book? Sure, no problem. My sentiment is the same for every single one of them; that is I accept them all as written until they are changed and re-written. See? That took no time at all.
  14. I should think that’s rather obvious. Then again, I don’t have any desire to shoehorn alternate realities into preconceived narratives.
  15. Why? It’s so much easier to just reject them and define a forward pass on your own terms.
  16. Has nothing to do with semantics and everything to do with the NFL rulebook. But you can rest easy knowing that if a forward pass wasn’t defined in the NFL rulebook as such, then you could revel in calling it a handoff all you want.
  17. Ah, I see you’re confused.. I’ll just say that “easy” doesn’t preclude intellectual dishonesty. But if Allen didn’t pass for those two TDS, he would have had more INTs than TD passes vs. the Titans. See? Easy peasey.
  18. I have not proclaimed him to be a franchise QB. I’ve proclaimed him to be a first ballot HOFer. There’s a difference at this point in time.
  19. We might be on to an entirely new way of quantifying success. Or not, depending on you look at it. We can simply remove any play or game to rewrite the entire history of outcomes since the league began. I mean, how convenient is that? For instance, take away our two TDs vs. the Titans and we lose that game 7-0. See how easy that is?
  20. Nope, he’s a moron. But still well north of Witten on the Moronic Scale.
  21. I know exactly who you’re referring to.
