  1. Once again proving that passing offense doesn’t need to be prolific to be highly effective.
  2. Well then, since they only cheated at home, it must not have had anything to do with their overall season success. Time to add another asterisk. Good question.
  3. Has it occurred to you that those 108 wins, sweep of the Yanks, and taking out the Astros and Dodgers each in five games was because the Red Sox cheated?
  4. Two years of competent coaching then compared to his peers. Again, it’s amazing Allen was able to take advantage of such minimal exposure. I choose to give him some credit for that.
  5. No, it’s a team stat But it’s typically indicative of decent quarterback play.
  6. Good call @YoloinOhio, good call indeed!
  7. Stands to reason as EJ was a far, far more developed QB coming out of college than Josh Allen. It amazes me that some are so quick to dismiss Allen’s lack of proper QB development vs. that of his peers, many of whom were being groomed since middle school, attended elite development camps, became star recruits in high school, went on to lead major college programs, and received high level coaching. Allen got none of that. Instead of knocking him for not being a polished gem currently, perhaps we should give him some credit for reaching this stage in the first place IN SPITE of receiving none of the advantages that 1st round QBs typically get throughout their journey to the NFL.
  8. I’ve never heard of a head coach not discussing a game with the owner afterward. That said, the rest of it, especially the inclusion of an analytics guru on the headset during games, will not work. There’s enough chatter going on between plays as it is. That won’t work well, imo. And the idea of an analyst participating in game planning during the week is absurd.
  9. I had no idea. Last I heard, Max played in a beer league game here a few years back and totally destroyed the team he was playing against. Something like 18 goals. He showed NO mercy. Heard he was barred from playing afterward. I had to chuckle when I heard about that.
  10. We should all try to live by the credo, “don’t say anything to somebody in cyberspace that you wouldn’t say in person.” Far, far easier said than done as we’ve all reached our limits at certain points, but something to strive for nonetheless.
  11. I’m not denying him the credit for upping his game, becoming a better player, and making 9 1/2 sacks along the way this past season. I’m not disrespecting him at all. I’m simply pointing out that in order to justify being paid like a Darnold, Cox, or Akins, he needs to perform like them. He doesn’t. Simple as that.
  12. The comparison between their respective first two years in Buffalo needs a bit of context. Taylor was entering his fifth year in the league when got here. Allen was a 22 year old green horn brand new to the league. Taylor was a 5 star recruit at Virginia Tech after an outstanding high school career and was named ACC player of the year after leading VT to an 11-2 record as a senior. He started 42 college games in a major conference. Allen wasn’t recruited at all out of high school, went the JUCO route to get to a D-1 school and ended up at Wyoming in a conference that doesn’t compare to the ACC. Taylor was a polished QB after four years at a major college and another four learning the NFL game with the Ravens. Allen, by contrast, was as rough as they come with no previous exposure to big time programs. Given the disparity in their respective experience when their first two years with the Bills commenced, either Taylor was a very poor QB or Allen was actually not that bad.
  13. Hadn't considered that, but you are spot on about Mike Brown.
  14. Then let the bidding begin. I'd think that having his college QB as a pro might be an attractive option over Carolina.
  15. If the Bengals were smart, they'd bring Burow's OC to Cinci and give him whatever he wants.
  16. Yeah, Allen needs to take the next step and the one after that in the NFL. Burow needs to take the first step in the league.
  17. I haven't read that article, but I think that pretty much sums up his ability as a run defender. He's specialist, and a good one, but nothing more. For the top 3 money he seems to be asking for, it's out of the question.
  18. Clemson D line is gassed.
  19. Clemson did well to keep it a two possession game.
  20. LSU is just relentless. Juggernaut. Jugger. Naut.
