Government Shut Down Looming!
B-Large replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Congress is supopsed to fund Bills that are already law. Not until the last few years has that notion changed. This is the last ditch attempt for conservatives to try and destroy the president's signature achievement, they have failed in every other reagard to do it, even with a Presidential campaign centered about the job killing nation crumbler... still lost. If history is any indicator, they will surely lose again. Fine with me. -
No TimHo's in Colorado. Starbucks, Caribou, Peets and Dazbog are the big ones. I wonder if Horton's stays around places that have a large amount of Canadians... Honestly, I'd love to have one here, I'd be all over it.

Fund what Congress has already passed, which they have always done, and there will be no problem.... see, easy! If they don't like the ACA, win the Senate and White House and do something legislatively about it. If the ACA is that bad, that job killing, that Nation-changing where ever person wil be doctorless and financially destryoed by the evil BIll, its shoudn;t be that hard, right? -

B, it hasn't even been implemented yet... how can it have already failed? Thats nonsense To me, the Financial Services folks, business owners and corporate stewards will put pressure on Congress to raise the debt ceiling and keep ugging along, and the ACA will get funded as is. the ACA is not a back breakign annual price tag for the US, and the law can be changed if parts of are deemed to be not working, as parts have already been axed like the CLASS section of the bill regarding long-term care. Beside, there are essential reforms in the ACA that will staty in place and shoudldstay in place regardless of whether the rest of the regualtions it the Bill fail to work. -

this probably won't end well.... -
I assume they roast the Arabica beans to achieve the french/italian roast taste, which is a little more dry and acidic.. I personally like the bitterness of their coffee, I assume others do as well, thats why they sell so much of it. to your point, yes, I have some freinds who buy green beens and roast their coffee right before they intend to drink it, and they prefer French Press because it preserves alot of that oily richness from the bean itself, which give it that smooth taste... I enjoy their coffee, it tastes like heaven in my yap... but I do have a desire for a tall cup of bitter SB coffee as well. therefore, I can't refute your theory they buy crap beans, I know nothing of the growing process or their raw shipment orders. But I can also assume Peets and other shops purchase from the same suppliers since those supplies have to be able to deliver in sheer volume, and boutique growers who nurture the best of the of the best beens may not be able fill such large demand orders. Heres my final feeling. Starbucks buys inexpenseive beans because of volume, but I assume they hit certain quality measures... the distinction in taste is the desired roast time, which brings us to our disgreement about taste and desirability. How in the !@#$ did we get on this tangent in a gun control thread?

So you have direct expereince/ evidence that they buy the worst raw products available? You're not just arguing to argue here, are you?

One of the great travesties is that 20 minute old Horton's Joe gets dumped.... but I love their committment to quality and freshness... that pipeline idea of yours sounds like a job creator... better not push on that... lol Thanks for the well wishes, B. We were fine in Denver proper, and we live on a hill in the City so no flooding, etc. But the people in Lyons, Longmont, Loveland... many of those people got messed up, houses washed away, car gone washed down stream... I am thinking about taking a week off work and voluteering for clean-up if the need arises.. which I assume it will... partly to help out fellow Coloradans, but also because it is 75 degrees, sunny and beautiful this time of year.... do you drink your coffee with a skirt and heels on too? I used to order TH coffee and have it sent to me in Denver... its not quite the same in my drip coffee maker, but once you break the seal on that can, its glory in my nostrils. I miss the roll up the rim thing too... ah, the good old days.

Its Darin's fault for being a grouchy old stodge.... Forward!

http://www.benefitsp...aps-pr-benefits I actually like their coffee, but I only like it black because I like to taste my coffee. They also treat their employees pretty well, evidenced by the recent news about the ACA and Starbucks reaction to the legislation. The only other coffee I seek out and LOVE is Tim Hortons. Not nearly as strong, but just something about that **** is addicting.

The Affordable Care Act is Coming Home to Roost
B-Large replied to Keukasmallies's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I was kidding about the MRI every week, I know what you meant. 12 hours in an ED in the US is not abnormal, in facts almost everyday the last 2 years we have been in divert in our ED... we now have a new ED that has sq footagle equal to 2 football fields, so the theory is we can accomodate more and we now have 350 more beds (at least will when built out). Buffet will probably have ot pay taxes on his plan now.. oh the irony, isnt he the one who was championing tax hikes? -

why would you want an MRI every week? That analogy is really more suited to the US Health System if you think about. We're the most expensive by far, have worse outcomes (I know, I know, its all propoganda and number bending and completely BS) comparatively against other 1st world healthcare systems in many regards.... We pay for Ferraris, get Civic and our Civics often have a bad AC Joint, leak oil and only have a broken AC compressor. I am not complaining about the system at all, but I work on the inside and get in the front of the line cause I know everybody... call me biased. I am also guessing you are a young guy who rarely needs care.. Perhaps hold your judgement until you need stuff for a severe or chronic illness? Ot not, you can always just be pissed for having to pay for it I guess. -

Its not called Dumbfukastan, that was vote down as the choice name of the place, but as it stands today is it Colorado Springs. The have roads and sewer and turn out the street lights when the tax money runs out to have them on. I'm not living there, but some people seem to like it. In fairness, they don't qualify the point by saying what the MRI was for. We have people here who demand an MRI for a condition that doesn't really warrant one, but they are a pain in the MD's ass so they justy order it to get the patient off their backs.... its hard to make a judgement on the article's duration of getting an MRI without more details. I assume its not unlike then a patient here had stage 1 thyroid cancer and they are told their surgery is in 6-8 weeks they FREAK OUT, but they don't want to hear that they could wait a year and it wouldn't be much of a difference. Its called triage and appropriate utilization... people don't always like it, but its good medicine. -

The Big Kittie will call, try to make it right, chances are they say "don't worry about it"... depends on what makes him feel whole....

yes, this. I go back into stores and pay when I realize they missed charging me for something, and for a small business like the one you purchased from , $500 is a lot amount of money.

I don't think people have prepared themselves for the reality that some jobs will never come back, even though we have this expectation that they always will... I could easily see 30 percent of what we do in Healthcare on the adminstrative side being replaced by servers and intellegent interface in the very near future- that means alot of good paying jobs, but on the flip side saves up time, money and frustration.

If the Nation had a trillion dollars in debt versus 12 trillion and was running deficits in the low billions versus 1.5 trillion, a Stimulus program would have been more well received.... and if there was a plan to pay it back at some point, it would have been well received. IMHO, I stimulus program whetehr it be direct spending or tax cuts would have been tempid success, just because the nature of the crash was tied to so many Amerians being tied up in undervalued, illiquid assets. It is slowly coming back and people are feeling decent against about their financial situation, but we have a long way to go. What's ironic about the Sitmulus is that the economic crash was very much about borrowing and spending... to think the remedy was more borrwoing and spending is kind of funny
