The Affordable Care Act is Coming Home to Roost
B-Large replied to Keukasmallies's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
that ia fairly good news. So only 25% of the uninsured were aware of the insurance exchanges... are they retarded, or simple live in a bubble? -
The peaceful religion: September 22, 2013

and it will happen again in the course of human history... I am not saying it is just Religion, but that seem to be a convenient conduit for evil people to get others pumped up about supremacy, hate and violence. But again, 99.9% of Religious people go about their lives in a peaceful manner. -

I think all religion are basically the same. the 1 Billion or so Muslims who probably wish they could live in peace and provide for their family get a bad name because of what, a few hundred thousand Jihadists? Christians had their day as well, a small portion of powerful zealots brutalized and killed in the name of GOD while the rest kept their heads down and prayed for peace and stop to the killing. Its all the same, just different book. -
I just can't imagine where consistently downgrading talent at positions leads to winning seasons. Spiller is second only to AP as far as exlosive talent, if we can't find a way to use one of our 2 outstanding weapons (throw a prop to SJ) to move the chains or score points, that is on Hack and Dougie.

If Denver can get cosistent production from Hillman, Moreno and Montae "oh noez i dropped the" Ball... how do you defend against that Offense? the only way is pressure and sackig Manning a ton.. if anything slows down that Offense, it will be the injury to Clady... and they get Champ Bailey and Von Miller back soon.. it wil be a sight to be seen

If the Bills can't, I sure hope the Phins do. I am tired of the Pats being first, a change would be nice.

People can log onto their insurance exchange and buy coverage, why would 30M people be without insurance, other than by making a obstinant choice to do so? Short on money, they get a voucher. Had cancer, doesn't matter. -

but the underlying assumption is that young people don't value risk management, ie Insurance. Why do we have such little faith in young people to make good decisions. If young people see that jobs are less plentiful and pay less than they did 10, 20, 30 years ago, is there not the possibility that more kids will start a business or try to start a business because they no longer are tied to employer bennies? My first priority out of school was a job with benefits... I imagine many are like in that respect. Its a bit of leap to determine just because kids are young, they make all their value decision on just dollars and cents, no? -

I brought it up to provide a comparison/contrast/ context to illutrsate the hypocrisy of criticizing the ACA, which conservtaives don't support, to the Ryan Plan, which conservatives generally support. He brought up saving money, the Ryan Plan was proposed to save money, bring down the cost of care for senior and save the program for future generations who will need it. He also brought up the fact that a bunch of sick people will not bring down costs and will esentially send premiums sky rocketing, unless young people paying in will make up the deficit in a risk pool. I think the comparison is fair, relevant and compelling to the discussion Doc and I were having. I am sure he will find it the same and I look forward his reponse. If you don't wish to discuss it, or simply are not equipped to, then please don't reponds to my posts, or I will simple ignore them. I am still interested in your thought on the comparison and hypocrisy.... -

yeah, WTF was with that punch to the nuts? I know I differ on many opinions from tohers here, but at least I try to lay down an argument for it. Gatorman goes full retard from the start, with unbright quips and hyperbole. argue it if you can... you can't that's why your deflecting... prove your position. I'd argue Democrats are complete hypocrites in cheerleeding the ACA, while at the same time portaying Ryan's reforms to Medicare as killing granny. Its the same damn thing, same problem, same solution. -

Answer the question. The proposed change to Medicare was to privatize it, so much like the ACA seniors get a tax credit to shop for private health insurance. How does the system offset the people who now consume 80% of healthcare resources in the country? Magic? How is it any different than the ACA then? Hey, I am on board, if the ACA works and reduces costs as planned (we have not seen the results yet), what possibel reason would Democrats have for no considering the Ryan Plan? It would be the peak of hypocrisy, just like gushing over Ryans plan and demonaizing the ACA shows conservative hyposcrisy. You know I am right. -

So by that same logic, does privatizing Medicare work? So the sickest of the sick hit the private market, whose going to offest that savings to Medicare? -

Says you. We have not seen it yet, and as for rate increases leadup to the exchanges, of course they have gone up, insurance compaines are loading up before they are more regulated. Precisely. I am getting tired of discussing it, Obama passed it so it is bad... there is no flipping that conclusion for some no matter he benefits.... as with most things, as after the apocolypse prediction has failed to come to pass, people will go on with their lives and wonder what all the doom and gloom talk was about. I am sure Medicare and SS had the same "world ending, destruction of America" talk as well... people seem to like those, even though they need reform. my buddy is desperately trying to get his Kids out from Tennessee, and get them to Colorado..... -

No, but it give reposnsible people with health condition entrance into the individual insurance market... and in the future forces losers in as well. -

Yes, for reposnsible people looking to manage risk and do the right thing, it fits the bill. Now for those who still want to free load, at least we get a piece of their hide in the penetly tax so when some of them get sicks, and actuarialy speaking they will, we have money to fund it... that's ok with me to be honest... In my family, it was not a choice to carry health coverage, it was a non-negotiable... and to me carrying coverage to pay for my unforseen cat medical expenses is part of being a good, responsible citizen.... I am sad to hear others don't feel that way. -
I'm venturing to bet 70% of the people who frequent a TH's daily have no idea he played in the NHL... Dazbog Coffee is everywhere here in Denver, there is nothing distinct about it other than good locations and some russian working on their signs. When I was in Russia, I don't remeber being able to get coffee, mainly Tea. Put me down for a round lot of THI... once you taste it, you can't but love it.

Gatorman's Thread- While there will be good discussion in this thread, accusations of retardation and posters generally traeting other like ****, G-Man tends to be what someone in another thread referred to as "a Pinata" where just about everybody gets a shot to slap around... as do, I pour more money back in. But for someone who plans to hang up the cleats in a few months, probably not ideal.
