  1. Didn't he veto Keystone XL tail end of last year? The great irony is that using fossil fuels until they are no longer fiscally advantageous to recover will ultimately lead to alternative energies explosion.
  2. bull ****, it's still the greatest country on thee planet. Where else can you begin life with zip, and through hard work and a good idea or two build a fortune in personal wealth? My god, I inquired about a business loan to start my shop and the access to resources and cash was astounding. They didn't care about anything other than a well articulated business plan. Where else on earth can a average scrock like myself literally start a business at will? Where else can you go to college, get a job, get married and make 100k- 150k together pretty easily over time? No it's not top 1 percent money, but you live a GOOD life with those numbers is you are even a reasonably responsible financial half wit. Yes, we need to stop wasting money on merit less wars. Yes, we need to secure the border and articulate an actual immigration policy. Yes, I think we'd be bettered served with a national healthcare risk pooling strategy that encourages smart decision making and personal saving for health expenses. Yes I think welfare should be impactful, but at the same time finite to encourage self sufficiency. We have a lot of problems, but let's not forget how good we have it and why people still die to come here. My god, some of us are so spoiled and we don't even know it.
  3. Great example, perfect! No way that would jive with PC BS that movie is dope, I think I could recite the whole script verbatim.
  4. I didn't think about that one. I was thinking when Wormser built a javelin to go with Lamars limp Wristed throwing style... No way that meets PC criteria today.
  5. I went against by gut feeling and read that. My gut is always right.
  6. Yes, print it all, we have the right to know.
  7. You had to upgrade to a macro aggression, didn't you? While I tend to defer to being kind, so being reasonable sensitive to items that might upset people, I still on a regular basis can't keep up with the PC crowd and say things that honk people off. It's become ridiculous, people go out of their way to identify any possible thing to harp on. Some dildo told me not too long ago I said somethign that was a micro aggression against Mens Rights. I can't recall what is was, but I asked him what Male kitty would be offended by what i said.... The conversation was bizarre. What unnerves me most, a movie like Revenge of the Nerds would be hard pressed to made today in the PC environment...
  8. Maybe nothing, but we should have the right to know and choose if we want to eat items that grow naturally, or are the products of laboratory meddling.
  9. You need to B word about something when: - nobody starves if they choose not too - nobody goes without excellent Heathcare if they want it - nobody get sick just drinking the water - nobody gets eradicated illness because we have sewer systems and garbage removal - babies are typical born healthy and without incident - if you want a job, pretty sure you can find one - if you want an education, you can get one - you are not jailed for opinions on governemt - you are not dragged into the streets and killed because you are jew, Muslim, Xtian - you travel freely with a reasoable good feeling of safety and security When this above is what you know, you have to seek out things that offend you or to crusade about. First World Problems
  10. I consider this thread a micro aggression against people who value political correctness....
  11. Yep, I got your drift. I assume amputated limbs would follow a process such as cadaver, donated with the cost of preserving and transporting that specimen considered. Just something about crushing fetuses around desirable components makes me feel, well, gross.
  12. The practical side of me says if you're gonna do it, make it useful or productive. The spiritual side of me strongly disagrees. I find it harder to resolve that rift as I get older
  13. Hers a question, doesn't the ACA reform afford family planning reimbursements for women's services providers? Seeing the Medicaid is being expanded and people must have insurance, doesn't that PP would need far less direct support from government? I can't believe that aborted fetuses are sold. I thought it was a hoax when I first heard it.
  14. Johnson strikes me as being the same league as Kasich... Track records, expereince, very unlucky to get traction... I'd like to see one of them get a fair shake and shot.
  15. I tend to believe in socio-economic privilege over race privilege to be honest...
  16. What horse in the lineup for the GOP gets your vote? Better question, is there one?
  17. First, it's July 2015- none of this means much other than to fill cable new cycles and give Trump a mega huge raging boner. Immigration is a BIG issue, it remains unaddressed after another 2 term presidential cycle, and Americans are tired of GOP/ Democrat volley game of secure the border versus path to citizenship, when we all know they are not mutually exclusive. Trump is flamboyant and spouts a lot of nonsense, but he is hitting cord with those of that want the issue addressed.... he'll be gone by next summer, we all know it, but let's hope the issue remains hot and debated until November, we will all be better off for it. Secure the border first, I mean for !@#$s sake we spend trillions defending our safety, so we don't have domestic attacks so we can go about or privileged lives, and people are actually okay with the seeping chasm be call our border with Mexico? Make it a Defense based Stimulus project, Democratic and Republicans will be jizzing all over each other to say "look what we're doing, vote for us!"
  18. So you're saying breaking the cycle, culturally, of a fatherless household is too keep young boys/ men in situations where that is accepted, encouraged and the norm? That doesn't make much sense. School choice is a breakthrough to try and break the cycle, but yo still gave young men that go to a good school, but exist in a **** living situation.... I'm not saying I think poor people will even want to live in wealthy neighborhoods.... I sure as heck don't, and I'm far from poor by many measures... But I'm intrigued by the idea of trying to get a few kids in a position to succeed. We're not going help solve the issue of fartherless families in the black community for example by bigger checks, or articles by wonks identifying the problem.... But we can try interventions to try and change the mindset and behavior. We B word about welfare costs, well let's try something and see if it works. Otherwise, let's budget the money, print the checks and admit we really don't care that much- at least we'd be honest about it. I assume subsistence living welfare checks don't get most poor folks into a high performing school district... Hence the revolving door of poverty... I don't know, I'm not a policy expert. Make it difficult to get into, you have to believe if it is limited spots and takes a ton of effort, only seriously applicants will apply and make it through. There are tons of working poor that have verified consistent employment even if it still leaves them technically poor by economic standards. I tend to believe most children learn by modeling... If all your freind have dads and mons, you begin to believe that is normal... If everybody you know has no dad or a dad in jail, that is normal.... You can see where I am going with that point.
  19. If a working poor mother of two young boys has the chance to get them out of a violent neighborhood, get them in a good school, and they end up going to college and becoming productive citizens.... Isn't that consistent with creating opportunity we are always talking about? I mean, we either cut a bigger check to mom, or help her with opportunities for her family.... I'd prefer the second path to be honest.
  20. We know polio is a viscious disease, we have a medical remedies, we set policy that people get it. We know cars are dangerous, seatbelts are proven to save lives, we require they be worn. We have building codes so people live in safe, proven dwellings. Again, move to places that are lawless like Africa and no one will force you, nor require you do anything. The rest of us will get a polio vaccine, wear a seat belt and update the electrical in our homes to code- and continue live privileged lives in this amazing country we call the USA. Oh the horror of this tyrannical horror we call the USA, with our 200 plus years of peaceful transfer of power!!!!
  21. Unvaccinated kids have herd immunity, so again, other parents who are responsible getting their kids basic vaccines picking up the slack...
  22. Hence the need for securing our border, organizing who in in our country temporarily, and detailing an immigration policy whereby those who earn citizenship vaccinate their kids if they go to public schools. Hard to force parents to vaccinate their kids, even though I wohld, when others are not being held to that standard. What do you think, proposed legislation in 2036? You're right, that's too ambitious a timeline.
  23. Maybe you should commit you and your family to regions of Africa with no vaccination or public health policy, no one will force you to have anthing. Something tells me you'd be back appreciating simple medical advances and evidence based public policy in no time. Also, the flu shot you get is dead virus, you can't get sick. Now if you get the nasal delivery, that's a point of debate, but you don't get the full blown flu.
  24. Not a front runner, not even a second tier guy, doesn't get a crowd on a Monday at 2PM. My guess, that town of 300 works and lunch is at 12 for most people.... Plus isn't Iowa a farming/ AG state, what farmer has the time in his busiest season to go to a less than hopefuls rally? Isn't also a state that permits gay marriage? Maybe that policy of his just isn't that popular?
  25. I don't see that as the case. Parents who are low income but want their kid to have a good education tend to support that child, so I don't see that kid bringing down the better school. That the premise behind school choice, giving parents who care an option for their child who may not be in th best district, or worse, a terrible district. I'd agree, what interesting is I see a lot of older, white, well to do people leaving their walled in communities and moving back into the city and surrounding areas, at least in Denver.
