Edelman out targeted gronk every season by a fair amount. what’s a #1 WR? some say it an X that plays outside and get lots of targets able to beat man coverage on the reg. neither Edelman nor Gronk were that. If a team has neither, I’d have to say the #1 was the guy that got the most targets. That was Edelman. Doesn’t hurt that he’s an actual WR and not a TE- but that’s not my reasoning. Having multiple guys that a defense has to focus on rather than one guy that can be doubled and taken out of the game plan. It may be difficult to amass the talent capable of this if you don’t have the proper QB- but we do, so I’m not sweating it. The progressions are similar to my favorite Guru (Gangstarr) lyrics- “ex girl to the next girl”.

I highly doubt Maxx will ever go anywhere. The organization loves him too much. i doubt we’ll ever give up the picks required to land Garrett- and given the 2 years he has left on his contract- I’m sure a trade would include a massive raise from the 19M he’s going to make. Maybe we trade Rousssau and a 2nd plus more picks? 24 year old for a 29 year old? Hendrickson would be amazing….but he’s still under contract- is he going to hold out the entire season? And give up 18M? 🤷🏻‍♂️ would they trade him to Buffalo? Chase young- meh. He’s alright but I’ve seen him lallygag too many times. One year stop gap. That’s going to be something we do every year. He had 2 sacks in the playoff game vs Houston. He’s missed like 12 games in his entire career. He’s as durable aa they come. Injury can happen to anyone. I don’t think he’s going to command more than 10M a year but you never know. a splash move would be amazing but i really think our splash moves will be resigning our owns. I haven’t dove into the offseason possibilities of edge rushers that may be available - anyone in mind?

Chances are that Mack will be better (in 2025) than a draft pick DE. I agree that I’d like to use a 1st or 2nd on a pass rusher. But we’ll still need more unless Solomon makes a jump. I don’t think we’ll be investing big long term bucks on a FA DE with Rousseau extension likely going to be 22M+ but hope I’m wrong. A one year rental plus a draft pick sounds like the plan

I think von will be added back to the list after Sundays game. He’s not a blue chip player- but I think he’s going to bring it and be a difference maker. brown is definitely a blue chip player. As is Rousseau….and Ed based on his play recently.
