Your post is overly pessimistic. Per usual. We’ve had a top 2 scoring defense 3 of the last 4 years. We have the toughest schedule in the league and face the best QBs we’ve faced in a season…. So I get where you come from- but count on us having one of the best defenses in the league if healthy. We’ve proven to be a top D year in year out. People should be optimistic based on our defensive track record. You hate the HC/DC - so you’re obviously biased

Kincaid and Cook will be enough as long as the OL holds up. I think Harty will make several big plays this season. I think Sherfields versatility and run blocking will get him some run. By all accounts Gabe Davis has looked better than ever so far this training camp. If we stay healthy and Spencer Brown isn’t a detriment we have as good a shot as anyone imo

We added 2 guys to the IOL. McGovern and Torrance can both be major upgrades. They can also flop. We don’t know what they are yet. Let’s not pretend that we know. It’s just depth if they don’t pan out. If they do, we added 2 solid starters. Wait and see before declaring them busts. Because that’s what you’re doing when you say all we added was depth. There’s a chance we added 2 solid starters. I would’ve loved to add a RT. That was my #2 need this offseason behind an offensive playmaker. They didn’t and we might pay the price for that. I don’t trust Spencer Brown and I think his improvement or lack thereof may determine our fate this season. at this point all we can do is hope that Beane was right about Brown

Idk, I think his size/strength could be a problem. I’d like to see a comparison of his body from day a last season to day 1 this season. The pics I’ve seen of him this year, he looks the same. Very little definition compared to everyone else’s. Imo, he NEEDS to add muscle and play strength if he wants to play MLB in the NFL. Look at Matt Milanos body transformation over the years. He was always in good shape, but now he’s a lean mean ripped smashing machine. Bernard looks small and WEAK next to him….. and he’s playing the position that requires more size and strength than Milanos. I’m pulling for the guy, but if he can’t change his body, I don’t see him ever succeeding as a starting mlb.

I think Sherfield could put together a Gabe Davis rookie type season if there are enough snaps for him. I think Harty will be adding something reliable and spectacular to this team….. as long as he remains active. If he gets hurt, I think that’s when Sherfield could take on a year 1 Gabe role. my hope is that we play mostly Diggs-Davis-Kincaid- Knox with Harty/shakir mixed in and complimented by some jumbo sets with Gilliam and even some Morris. I love me some Quintin Morris

In my unprofessional opinion- he left because he was to be stripped of the play calling and that’s a demotion. Why would anyone hire him as HC if he had the play calling stripped? Why would he want to stay. That’s embarrassing. I don’t think it had anything to do with 49.

He’s my hope- but I think getting up to speed and calling the defense will be too much to overcome. After him, I hope it’s Spector. He’s a much more realistic option imo. Dodson vs the pass is not something I want to witness very much
