  1. Yes. That's what being "one of the better players" means. Thanks for simplifying it for the PPP libs. .
  2. This is why weak sarcasm is all PPP posters have left. They cannot acknowledge that changes are coming.
  3. She is one of the 'better' players. and has the advantage of believing in the 'right' things. .
  4. True: I had to post this in honor of @BillStime, he always posted Tea Pain. LOL .
  5. This is a good thing. It should not be criticized for political reasons. .
  6. You could have stopped after the fourth word.
  7. Hmm...this page doesn’t exist. Try searching for something else.
  8. From the WAPO: “I think so many politicians are lost in the establishment,” he wrote. “They fail their constituents, their country, and ultimately — they fail themselves. It’s an industry of broken promises and corrupt practices. But I will never stoop to that level. My roots — my family — my hometown — are what got me here. The good and the bad.” -- JD Vance Vance grew up in a steel mill community in Ohio in a family beset by drug addiction and poverty, which he chronicled in his book, “Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis.” He served in the Marine Corps for four years, including a six month deployment to Iraq, before studying political science and philosophy at Ohio State University and attending Yale Law School. He went on to work at a large corporate law firm and then as a principal at billionaire Peter Thiel’s investment firm in San Francisco. The Ohio Republican has embraced a more populist direction for the GOP under Trump, embracing his “America First” policies and offshoots the former president and his followers have championed. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/07/15/jd-vance-trump-vice-president-announcement/? .
  9. There is this essay from Jordan Schachtel that proclaimed Vance the right man for the moment: I started as a critic of Senator J.D. Vance, only to become a great admirer of his political leadership in short order. Unlike his reported finalist peers for the VP nomination under Donald Trump, J.D. Vance is the right choice because he has demonstrated the character, morals, wisdom, and righteousness that is essential for a mission-oriented vice president of the United States. And yes, he has an inspiring, uniquely American story to tell. ... In early 2020, at the beginning of the Covid hysteria era, Vance had initially taken an interest in the restrictionist camp of the lockdown divide, which brought some pointed online criticisms from yours truly. Instead of looking away, Vance’s team immediately engaged on the issue in a thoughtful way, refusing to be rigidly bound by ideology or popularity contests. It would’ve been much easier for him to follow the trend, as politicians do. And those days were full of unknowns, and frank discussions about what we were facing and what to do about it. There were a million exit routes available, and to his great credit, he didn’t take any outs. It only took days or weeks before Vance used his platform to take a leadership position on the Covid issue, but now, in the direction of protecting the rights of Americans whose businesses and neighborhoods were being steamrolled by the Fascists. The U.S. Marine veteran (who notoriously humbly refuses to bring up his service to our country during his political speeches) had demonstrated the ability to quickly gather information, react, and change course if necessary. As Senator Vance, he authored and successfully passed critical legislation blocking government funding for mask mandates, in repeatedly taking measures to check government overreach on the Covid front. He not only came full circle on the Covid issue, but his time in the Senate is rife with instances of J.D. Vance taking leadership positions on pro-American issues, using his seat of power to protect citizens from current and future attempts to mitigate our freedoms. We live in an America where our politicians seek to impose laws and policies that are extremely hostile to our most truly vulnerable communities. In the era of DEI, ESG, and other acronym ideals that trample upon working class families, Vance has made it his mandate to defend his constituents from further intrusions. Since becoming a U.S. senator, J.D. Vance has been on the forefront on so many issues involving the preservation of liberty, within a chamber that is, sadly, commonly hostile to America’s founding ideals. So of course, some might be concerned that the Senate can’t afford to lose anymore Vance-like politicians. {snip} It shouldn’t come as a surprise why the man from Hillbilly Elegy has the respect and admiration of so many Americans, including President Trump. He doesn’t just talk the talk, but he walks the walk, and his tenure in the Senate proves that. Like Trump, he uniquely appeals, in his own way, to the “forgotten man” across America with his working class roots and “only in America” story. J.D. Vance presents tremendous upside, via a proven track record and an incredible personal story that will directly resonate with tens of millions of Americans, to a campaign that needs to pull off wins in midwestern swing states to secure the presidency. And unlike his VP “finalist” competitors, Vance is the only one who aligns with president Trump on both domestic and foreign policy. J.D. Vance is the man for this moment, and he perfectly complements Donald Trump’s run for the presidency. https://www.dossier.today/p/jd-vance-is-the-right-choice-for
  10. Trump Names J.D. Vance as Running Mate. Where Does He Stand on the Second Amendment? By Cam Edwards https://bearingarms.com/camedwards/2024/07/15/where-does-trumps-vp-pick-stand-on-the-second-amendment-n1225603 .
  11. It was an amazing decision! Trump hit it out of the park! Can you imagine a better pick? Or: Everybody knew it was going to be Vance. What a letdown! Or: I knew it! Vance is the perfect successor to Trump and will excite the base and set the stage for another 12 years of MAGA rule after November! Or: WHAT A BETRAYAL OF MAGA! Trump picked a RINO who attacked him in 2016 and the uniparty wins! The truth is, no matter who Trump announced today, it would be exciting to some and a disappointment to others, and the choice will likely only have a marginal impact on the results this November. If that. To most Americans, it will have little to no impact because V.P. choices don't matter, and even J.D. Vance is an unknown figure to them. A very select group of people know who he is, and few will care, for good or ill. Chances are that few people could name Mike Pence, and he was Vice President for four years. This election is all about Donald Trump and was always destined to be. He is a once-in-a-generation figure from whom people cannot look away for long. https://hotair.com/david-strom/2024/07/15/live-reaction-to-vp-pick-n3791841
  12. Justifying what ? Sen. Vance changing his mind, expanding his viewpoint ? Wow are you struggling. Meanwhile: A native of Middletown, Ohio, Vance detailed his upbringing in his acclaimed 2016 memoir Hillbilly Elegy, which was later adapted into a film directed by Ron Howard. His family’s struggles with poverty and addiction, Vance has said on multiple occasions, informed his political journey. From his humble roots in Ohio, Vance enlisted in the Marine Corps and matriculated from the Ohio State University. He graduated from Yale Law School in 2013. Vance briefly worked at a white-shoe law firm before he began his career as a venture capitalist. Vance’s 2022 Senate race was his foray into politics and largely an insurgent campaign against more established Ohio political figures. Bolstered by a primary endorsement from Trump, Vance secured the nomination with 32 percent of the vote. He would later defeat Rep. Tim Ryan (D., Ohio), whose campaign focused on winning back white working class voters, by more than 6 points. During his brief tenure in the Senate, Vance has focused on economic populist measures such as revoking China’s most favored nation status and beefing up antitrust enforcement. A hardliner on immigration, Vance has been one of Trump’s biggest supporters in the Senate and one of his earliest endorsers in the 2024 presidential primary. His message of economic nationalism could potentially assist Trump in the rust belt, which has a disproportionate share of white working class voters. Polls show Trump leading in most rust belt states, which would be his clearest path to victory. President Joe Biden, meanwhile, urged Americans to "defeat Trump-Vance" in order to "protect democracy." https://freebeacon.com/elections/trump-names-jd-vance-as-running-mate-cementing-ohioans-meteoric-rise/ What a monster.
