Winsome Earle-Sears Makes Her Next Move and It's Big By Susie Moore Virginia Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears has fast become a favorite of Republicans and conservatives since her 2021 victory in Old Dominion alongside Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin and Attorney General Jason Miyares. With her no-nonsense approach and her steadfast commitment to conservative ideals, Earle-Sears has endeared herself to the political right. Now, Earle-Sears is taking the next big step and throwing her hat into the 2025 Virginia governor's race. Since Virginia's Constitution prohibits governors from serving consecutive terms, Youngkin is ineligible to run in 2025. Senate Leader Gloria Romero Switches to Republican Party, Says She Will Vote for Trump Jennifer Oliver O'Connell On Wednesday, the party was dealt another blow. Gloria Romero, who formerly was Democrat majority leader in the California Senate, has decided she also will change parties. Romero announced this on the State Capitol steps with Steve Hilton, California activist and host of the Steve Hilton Show, CA GOP Chairwoman Jessica Milan Patterson, Republican leadership in the California legislature, and Republican U.S. Congressman Kevin Kiley flanking her for the full effect. Here's the kicker: Unlike Alvarado-Gil, Romero has let it be known that she plans to vote for former President and GOP nominee Donald Trump. You may now clutch your pearls. As one of their female Latina firsts (Romero was the first woman to serve as majority leader before she was termed out in 2010), they have lost one "standard-bearer" who the Democrats love to trot out and use to manipulate the Hispanic masses. Romero has made it known she is now championing the Republican aims and the Trump-Vance ticket, especially in regard to the Southern border. In early August, Romero appeared on Fox Business' "Wall Street" with Maria Bartiromo before she officially made her party switch. By Victor Davis Hanson September 5, 2024 The 2016 presidential campaign will be long remembered for the false allegation that Donald Trump colluded with the Russians to warp the election. Citing the bogus “Steele dossier,” loser Hillary Clinton and other Democrat grandees claimed that the victorious Trump was an “illegitimate” president. Almost immediately, the left and media then pushed for the appointment of special prosecutor Robert Mueller. He assembled a ‘dream team’ of partisan prosecutors to prove Trump-Russian collusion. Some 22 months later, Mueller found no evidence that Donald Trump improperly won the 2016 election with help from any colluding Russians. More hysteria followed when Trump was impeached in December 2019. The left claimed he had pressured the Ukrainian government to look into the family of Joe Biden (then a potential 2020 election opponent) for its corruption with Ukrainian oligarchs—as a condition for releasing military aid designated to Kyiv. Yet Hunter Biden was paid nearly $1 million a year by a Ukrainian energy company to enlist his father, Vice President Joe Biden, for quid pro quo services. In turn, Joe Biden himself later bragged he had pressured Ukraine to fire its prosecutor, Victor Shokin—who happened to be looking too closely into the various shady schemes of the Biden family. The deceptions and lies continued. On the eve of the first 2020 debate, Biden aide and now Secretary of State Antony Blinken helped to round up “51 former intelligence authorities” to claim falsely that Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop—full of incriminating evidence of felonious Biden family behavior—was fabricated by the Russians. Kamala Harris Won't Say Whether She Would Sign Her Own EV Mandate Bill Thomas Catenacci Kamala Harris's campaign recently walked back Harris's position on EV mandates, stating she "does not support an electric vehicle mandate." But the campaign is now shying away from questions about whether Harris would sign or veto legislation she personally cosponsored in the Senate that would implement a nationwide EV mandate. The campaign on Wednesday ignored several questions from the Washington Free Beacon asking for it to clarify Harris's position on EV mandates.
