Israel is winning the war, while the West retreats Jew-hating Islamists and self-loathing liberal-leftists have allied to isolate Israel in its greatest hour of need. By Mick Hume It’s now clear that, given a free hand, Israel can handle its mortal enemies in the Middle East. It’s their so-called friends in the West and the ‘international community’ that the Israelis have to worry about. In 2024, Israel has achieved remarkable military successes on every front. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have hammered the genocidal pogromists of Hamas in Gaza, devastated their fellow Islamist terrorists of Hezbollah in Lebanon, and shaken their sponsor, the Islamic Republic of Iran, to its tyrannical roots. All of which, as Brendan O’Neill recently argued on spiked, also facilitated the collapse of the brutal Assad dictatorship in Syria. By the year’s end, nobody could seriously doubt Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s declaration that ‘We are winning’. Moreover, anybody who believes in freedom should surely be celebrating the success of the only Western-style democracy in the Middle East as a blow struck for civilization against barbarism. Instead, Israel’s traditional Western allies have spent 2024 retreating from its side almost as quickly as Hamas and Hezbollah fled before the IDF. For every military advance Israel has made over the past year, it has seemed to suffer more political setbacks on the international battlefield. At the end of 2023, Israel was accused of committing ‘genocide’ in Gaza before the International Court of Justice – a perverse claim put forward by South Africa, supported by other states and recently endorsed by Amnesty International. Worse, as 2024 ends, the International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant against Netanyahu for allegedly committing crimes against humanity in Gaza – the first leader of a Western-style democracy to be charged with war crimes. Forget all the tyrants on Earth, the prime minister of the world’s only Jewish state must apparently be singled out for punishment. And worse still, several Western states – including, shamefully, the UK Labour government – have declared their willingness to execute the warrant and arrest him. https://www.spiked-online.com/2024/12/21/israel-is-winning-the-war-while-the-west-retreats/

Our Lying Eyes: New Photo Shows Biden with Hunter ‘s Business Associates Despite Past Denials By Jonathan Turley “Lies.” That response was a mantra for President Joe Biden, who denied ever meeting or knowing about his son’s foreign dealings. Despite the pronounced lack of interest by most media outlets in the alleged multimillion dollar influence-peddling scheme, the House and conservative groups have doggedly pursued the matter and found overwhelming evidence that the President has repeatedly lied about his interactions with foreign clients. Now, a new photo further contradicts the President, who recently pardoned his son for any crimes committed over a ten-year period. America First Legal has been engaged in a prolonged legal fight with the National Archives to get access to the undisclosed evidence. It recently won critical rulings forcing the release. The discovery includes this photo of then-vice president Joe Biden meeting with Hunter and his clients. It adds to an already ample photographic and testimonial record contradicting the President’s past denials. The House has released records showing $27 million in payments from foreign sources to Hunter Biden and his business partners from 2014 to 2019. Hunter used official trips with his father to facilitate some of these associations. Despite denying meeting with these clients or knowing anything about his son’s dealings, it was later revealed that Biden was repeatedly put on a speakerphone with clients, attended dinners, and took pictures with them, including BHR Partners CEO Jonathan Li. A key witness said that he sat down with Joe Biden specifically to discuss these foreign deals with this son. Joe Biden later wrote college recommendation letters for Li’s son and daughter. In the summer of 2019, Li wired Hunter Biden $250,000 that originated in Beijing and had Joe Biden’s Delaware home as the beneficiary address. https://jonathanturley.org/2024/12/27/our-lying-eyes-newly-released-photos-show-biden-meeting-hunter-s-business-associates-despite-past-denials/ WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT ? .

A Legacy of Failure: How Will Joe Biden Be Remembered? By Ward Clark As Biden's sole, failed term comes to an end, though, it's certain that history — and I mean history, not hagiography — will judge Joe Biden much more harshly than this. My colleague Nick Arama has done excellent work documenting the failures in the final days of the Biden administration: There's a lot more to it than that. What will President Joe Biden be remembered for? 1: His mental and physical decline. Joe Biden, in all candor, never was the sharpest knife in the drawer. He was vindictive, petty, and corrupt, yes — but an intellectual giant, no. Even in the 2020 campaign, the infamous "basement campaign," his decline was already becoming apparent. As his presidency dragged on, it became more and more difficult for Democrats to deny - and yet deny they did, right up to Biden's embarrassing — nay, disastrous — 2024 debate performance against Donald Trump. Which brings us to: 2: The Democrats using a big Warner Brothers-style hook to yank Joe Biden off the campaign stage, and the anointment of Kamala Harris in his stead. It is as yet unknown who played Barry Goldwater to Biden's Nixon and "belled the cat," telling the old man that there was no way he was going to win — and then Biden went on to heartily endorse his vice president for the role, and we all know how that turned out. 3: Failure in international affairs. It's hard to think of a national leader who took Joe Biden seriously. Tsar Vladimir I certainly did not. Italian President Giorgia Meloni spoke for the world with her eloquent eye-roll while waiting for the befuddled old American president to show up for a NATO summit. Cap it all off with the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, and you have a record of failure that's hard to top — until you go to domestic policy. 4: Domestic policy. Inflation, joblessness, rising interest rates; the American people saw their paychecks presenting less buying power week by week, while the Biden administration lectured us on DEI and climate change, appointed incompetents to government posts, and spent, spent, spent, raising our national debt to over $36 trillion. In the end, you have failure. At every turn, failure. But there is one party of Joe Biden's legacy that is positive: Just as it took a Carter to give us a Reagan, it took Joe Biden to give us a second term of Donald Trump. And that, we can be sure, will be the major part of Joe Biden's legacy. https://redstate.com/wardclark/2024/12/27/a-legacy-of-failure-how-will-joe-biden-be-remembered-n2183670 .

In some rather big news, Florida State Representative Hillary Cassel has announced that she is SWITCHING her party affiliation from Democrat to Republican. She is now the second Democrat to swap parties ahead of the 2025 session, along with Representative Susan Valdes of Tampa.

After Gaslighting Us on Economy for Years, AP FINALLY Admits Homelessness Increased 18 PERCENT in 2024 Interesting how we get this news story now, in the final days of the Biden administration. This writer suspects the homelessness issue -- which has plagued places like California for years -- will be front-and-center in the news cycle once Trump is inaugurated. Because the problem they ignored when a Democrat was in office magically becomes a scandal of epic proportions when a Republican is in the Oval Office. https://twitchy.com/amy-curtis/2024/12/27/ap-homelessness-increased-181-percent-this-year-n2405770 THANKS JOE ! .

I disagree with a lot of what Vivek Ramaswamy says here, though there’s some uncomfortable truth there, too. But here’s the thing. I don’t want to throw Vivek out of the America First movement. I’m not mad because he said some things I don’t agree with. We’re building a new coalition and we’re not all going to agree on everything all the time. We need to act like adults and debate things, even uncomfortable things. We’re not leftists. We’re not gonna cry when somebody says something we don’t necessarily agree with. We’re gonna figure it out. And that’s why we’re gonna win.

That's a shame. State Department’s Global Engagement Center — accused of pushing censorship to combat online ‘disinformation’ — shuts down by Victor Nava The State Department’s controversial Global Engagement Center (GEC) shut down this week after congressional lawmakers nixed reauthorizing the agency in spending legislation to keep the government open. “The Global Engagement Center closed on December 23, 2024,” read a message on the agency’s website. The GEC came under fire from House Republicans after journalist Matt Taibbi uncovered evidence that it pressured US social media platforms early in the COVID-19 pandemic to censor Americans online, purportedly to counter “disinformation,” such as theories that the virus leaked out of a laboratory in China. https://nypost.com/2024/12/26/us-news/state-departments-global-engagement-center-accused-of-pushing-censorship-to-combat-online-disinformation-shuts-down/ . -
