  1. Start with the premise that there is no God and then try to figure out how the universe came into being. When your head stops hurting you'll have your answer.
  2. Not sure where this should be posted. Bounce it to where it belongs. With Thur night games being a weekly occurrence now and cherry picked so they are (theoretically) more competitive would it make sense to add them to the picks next season? Also (not that it would help me much) is there a mulligan week this year?
  3. If by ironic you mean the nfl is saying stfu Ralph. Winning never hurt but don't count on a good record trumping the weather. I remember buying all the non-nosebleed extra playoff tickets I could when I first got season tixs and eating them when $15 was the best offer out there on game day.
  4. Better get a cyphering lesson from Jethro because the difference in those figures is exactly $2. Plus you can split cable to a another TV/VCR/Tivo/PVR... and watch or record the basic channels for NO additional cost. Plus no upfront equipment costs or long term contracts are involved.
  5. May be wrong but I thought he was acknowledging a pocket of sd fans in the area. So ahole in sec 115 r1 had a countdown to record tds sign that he kept updating.
  6. Nah, this is too far.
  7. Row 1 and in the lower bowl NOT the clubs.
  8. Not much of a brain teaser. Many that can't see the game decide to come and don't want the leftovers for sale when they can get better and/or multiple seats together for less or a few bucks more. Gameday prices are always higher during blackouts than sold out games.
  9. Absolutely wrong. The core fans are there no matter what the weather but the fringe are strongly influenced by the (seasonal) timing of the game and the actual weather on game day. I sell tickets every year and the demand for late season games always lags the early ones. Look at sales on Ebay or StubHub and the games with the most demand and $'s paid are early in the season. First home game has demand whoever plays. In past years a mia or ne late season game would spike interest but that has changed in the last 3 - 5 years. It's interesting that the $'s paid and demand was very strong in late summer and early fall (ne, minn, and gb games helped as they always draw opp fans). After the chi and det losses the bottom fell out of the market.
  10. Traffic was somewhat worse due to people actually staying until the end of the game but most of the slowdown was Tgiving travel. Should be alot of fun after the titans game. Try getting off at the Transit road exit (last one before the toll gates) and going down rt 20, much faster. See your other post for info on the Utica blackout.
  11. Actually you'll get them twice a year when they play the jets. I'm in the same situation as you (live in Utica but go to the games) but if you ever can't make a game the blackout ends in Herkimer. See this post for more info on blackout rules.
  12. I believe you are misinterpreting the map. It shows the area that is expected to carry the Bills game. May not have been updated to show the purported Binghamton flip. Only those stations that broadcast to an area within 75 miles of the stadium are affected. If we (Utica) had our own CBS affiliate and carried it solely instead of WTVH and it didn't reach within 75 miles of the stadium (almost certain) Utica would not be blacked out. Or more realistically if the NFL wasn't such greedy SOBs they wouldn't use a loophole to exclude WTVH. [Don't have the exact figures but it's about a 10 mile strip if I remember correctly.] Theoretically possible that WTVH could just lower it's output on gamedays so it could carry the game.
  13. Not exactly a stellar endorsement.Your Rep
  14. No more yankie my wankie. The Donger need food.
  15. I agree that the security staff at RWS sucks but you can't blame them for the pat attack. Have you ever seen security patrol any NFL parking lots? If called they will respond but then it's too late. The culprits here are the 12th fans that kept walking and let the melee continue.
  16. It will never happen. They have successfully banned food and beverage (remember when you could bring in thermoses?) on the pretext of "security". Relaxing the policy for a game would ruin that facade.
  17. Exactly! Walk in from lot 5 and notice the difference once you pass from the lava lots into the club seating lots. Bud vs Perrier.
  18. And you probably think stroking your pecker 16 times at random intervals yields the same result as 16 consecutive strokes. Only one warrants wiping the slate clean.
  19. That's absurd. Put them up for public consumption and the scalpers wouldn't even need a pair of STs for early entry. Plus the "enemy" fans could buy them from the Bill's directly at cost and afford to buy even more. Every year there are plenty of STHs that offer to buy tickets at cost for board members. Buy a sh!tload and sell them at cost if you are such a hometown hero. I'll sell you my extra season Titans tickets currently on StubHub for $45 for the $38 net price. I expect a dead silence. There are also plenty of tickets for sale on the Trading Post for cost or below. Doesn't help when ingrates complain that "at cost" includes the pre-season cost. Originaly joined the board to sell excess seasons and when it became clear that it was folly tried to offer them for less than net profit from StubHub prior to listing them and still got no takers. Gave up on the cheap SOB's on the board years ago. Every year the demand for tickets is not by schedule but by time of year. Fair weather fans go in Sep and Oct and then demand drops. There are sell-outs but only because a Bills Ticket is the biggest bargain in the league and corporate buy-outs are still necessary at times. Didn't like being surrounded by the patsie SOBs either (and no I didn't sell to one, personally I'll lose profit before I sell a pats or fins ticket to an opponent fan) but if enemy fans think the seats are more valuable than "loyal" fans like you than more power to them.
  20. Hmmm, Longwinded, Arrogant, Argumentative, Stubborn... Start pounding out about 20 posts a day and you should loose that Rookie rating and be a full fledged Veteran.
  21. If only they could jail people for excessively anal nitpicking.
  22. Typical front orifice blunder. From D&C 9/30 article (on TBD) "Berchtold [scott Berchtold, vice president of communications for the Buffalo Bills] said fans would not encounter any changes in security procedures entering the game or traffic patterns around the stadium. He said the club has not made provisions to add more security personnel. An advisory e-mailed to ticket buyers on Friday didn't mention the Clintons' visit." No signs, no one directing traffic at the gate, just a wall of people. I was swimming through the crowd at Gate 7/8 and trying to get people to move towards 9 when someone told me it was closed. Would have been pissed if I'd gotten there and found out. The ironic part is that due to the crowd the screenings were much less thorough. [Not that I'm complaining]. Usually have to open camera bag and pull out camera but didn't even need to unzip it.
  23. Sorry Thurston but sitting in the clubs is not being AT the game but merely being in the vicinity of the game without the benefit of being in your living room and still having to deal with the traffic both ways. And economizing to be there is a faux pax; if you have to worry about how much they cost you shouldn't be buying them. It does keep my real seats priced lower so there is some benefit. Next year stay home, buy an HD TV on the 5 year plan and watch the game at home. I'll sell you my ticket stub for $20 and for the same money you can still act cool like you really attended the game.
  24. I've had seasons since 90 and have only missed a couple of handfulls of games. IMO this is probably a little more than half the reason. More aggressive enforcement and severity of DWI laws, prohibiting the influx of items (mostly alcohol but believe it or not I used to bring in parts to make a homemade shelf that I set up on the wall in front of my seats; try that today) and the NFLs push to make stadium football a more family experience are other factors. [i have my views on the merits of these moves and I'm sure you(pl) do too but they have been discussed in nauseating detail in other threads. Don't start in this one please.] However in regards to the topic, sadly in historic terms but hopeful in terms of present day factors I felt yesterday's was one of the the best crowds I've seen in the last 4 years. I don't always stand but feel that others have the right to do so if they wish. Unfortunately, RWS's low walls contribute to this. [For comparison JR's walls are about 3 times as high.] Since the walls are so low the only way to SEE (not view via the Jumbotron) the field over the sideline crowd when the action is downfield or directly in front is to stand up. Photographers, security and other sideliners used to be forced to kneel to allow better viewing but this is no longer done. In fact the NYS Troopers on the sideline do NOTHING but watch the game and even worse wear their hats. Not sure if they are supposed to be doing anything or not but they don't. When the first three or four rows stand the domino effect requires everyone to do so. Again, a hotly debated subject. I personally stand, yell and scream with the best of them. I prefer that others do the yelling and screaming to enhance the home team advantage but it is their choice to refrain as much as it is mine to indulge. Not sure that standing significantly contributes to the noise. I've stayed to the (many times bitter) end for about 90% of the games I've attended, left about 2% early due to obligations and about 8% since I was so disgusted I didn't think the team deserved any fans to remain. Yesterday's exodus was not warranted IMO but the weather was probably as much of a factor as the game.
  25. The oldies were introduced pre-game in groups according to the years they played. Came out via the blowup funhouse just prior to the D players. Ferguson was the last guy in the last group and got a pretty good reception.
