  1. Right, because there isn't a whole lot of other speculation going on. It's not his fault that their offense sucks balls. If they're winning nobody wants to hear about turmoil. So go blame the coaches and players.
  2. I mean, it's pretty f**king stupid that the guy's name is the the stupid title of this thread, but yet again the same tired people come around to get agitated by the guy. Like I could understand if it was "Locker Room Problems???" and he was then quoted but not mentioned expressly in the title. But yep, coming back to stick the flag in the ground for "I'dz make a better AP reporter than you!!!"
  3. Yeah, he should just betray his sources to appease you. That makes a double s**t ton of sense. 🙄
  4. Do you and these others really need to be educated on how reporting works? It's an intelligence game. If you don't think there weren't players, coaches, or other staffers sharing their feelings privately about what was causing the Bills' funk, then that's fine, lots of delusional people roaming the states right now. It's a symbiotic relationship...now you could argue that taking that inside info & thrusting it out in the open in pressers may have added stress to the situation, maybe even bringing it to a head, and I could listen to that. But perhaps it also had the desired effect, if they decided to put it all out in the open down in Tampa and set aside their differences for the betterment of the team. But it would be career suicide for a reporter to conjure up a false narrative for personal gain, and would leave the reporter open to possible ramifications from the team themselves. Does it ever happen? Probably, but I really don't think the potential gain for JW would be worth the risk.
  5. The question becomes, “How does this become an internal struggle?” The easiest answer? Maybe Tre should have been expected to be in better shape upon emerging from the PUP, and maybe he wasn’t. That might make a bunch of players pissed, especially ones who may be fighting injury themselves. Definitely speculation…but that seems a lot more likely than “oh his knee isn’t letting him do this or that.”
  6. Maybe the hint was in McDermott's assessment of the Tre saga.
  7. Why does this man make it so hard to hate him after destroying us for most of two decades?
  8. I said in another post, the break point of that route couldn't be more "7th grade linebacker trying a post for the first time". Like no shake, no shimmy, no fake, no nothing. I really think that some of these players think they can get away with "OK" against good talent.
  9. To me, playcalling comes into question if you end up calling plays that stress a weak part of your team, or some facet of your game that is a respective weakness towards the opponent. I think one can argue that the Bills rushing attack is right now a weakness, and calling for more runs only helps if the defense is selling out to stop the pass (i.e. draw plays & sweeps that use speed to find open field). I believe it's also one thing to design a competent offense, and another to understand: What will make a play particularly effective What defensive calls/looks would be best exploited with said play What defensive calls/looks would thwart the play's efficacy (and in tandem, can you offer secondary options/routes that mitigate such matchup issues)? How best to communicate and coach these finer points to your players, so that in specific game situations they understand their role & how to maximize effectiveness My gut says that Daboll learned a ton from Belichick & Saban about analysis & the fine points of coaching players. We probably undervalued this stuff with him, the amount of time and experience he spent developing his coaching acumen. So Dorsey's playcalling might be AOK, and execution is probably to blame - but that offensive coordinator has a pretty large hand in the execution side as well, with good preparation.
  10. Morris was running a poor route himself. I think the receivers are getting sloppy. Morris worked too far and left himself too close to the safeties. Could Davis run a more pedestrian post route as well? Any kind of juke might delay the undercut by Peterson by just enough. Poor throw by Josh nevertheless. We're seeing a team that lacks real fundamental football IQ IMO. Maybe it's because a lot of them are depth and haven't needed to be relied on in the big moments as often, but a lot of shortcuts, half-assing, and mentally poor play. The film study should be a field day for the WR room. McKenzie should be dogged for a half an hour for his role in the 4th & 2 interception. How have they been faring inside the 10 at scoring passing touchdowns this season?
  11. Please elaborate on the 13 point lead vs the 10 point lead. This might be fun. I'm not sure how many of these decisions end up QB check. With a 17 point lead, they are going to give you looks that might make the QB say, "We shouldn't run here, they are taking that away." But with that lead, there should be additional considerations given to the desire to eat clock or timeouts. There could also be how the defense is faring even with added guys 'in the box'...if you were to continue to commit to the run, you could wear out the starting defense more & make future efforts (both run and pass) easier. And I don't know if you can really take the audible reins from Allen. He is out there, he calls the shots, are you going to bench him?
  12. I mean, 2nd down was a screen pass where the OL kinda bumped into each other screwing up the timing, which doesn't really match the bolded.
  13. Benford ripped a guy two steps out of bounds and they threw a personal foul. They said Diggs and Edmunds were out talking or something to that effect. I don't remember the exact quote, or if it was Murph/Wood or Davis/Johnston. And maybe they got the number wrong.
  14. I think you have a decent chance of drawing them off the first time, especially if you rush to the line and follow your normal cadences. The defenders would be so keyed up to stop that dive. Have no clue if there's a limit, but even one hard sell (to the point your OL move, how does that hurt you as well?) gets them to be even more cognizant on the next one.
  15. I don't think yesterday started like this, but the defense definitely took a turn for the worse once the Bills went ahead 17. The Cook run followed, and you have to wonder how the Edmunds "injury" (announcers were saying he was out on the field horsing around after the Benford roughing call on the sideline) played with the team.
  16. That's right they lost that midweek tilt at Fulham.
  17. The thinking man would have burned a delay of game (what do you lose, 3 inches?) and tried like hell to draw them Offside. You get them to jump, you win. Plain and simple. If that ends up failing, I guess you stick with the same play you ran anyway.
  18. Yeah they've done a helluva job hiding whatever fire is causing this smoke.
  19. My guess would be Dorsey vs. Allen. Daboll must have been able to speak Josh's language. He seemed to really tone down Josh's worst habits, and maybe even channel them at points where they were needed most (see the end of KC playoff game). Thing is, Daboll was a defensive player, a safety. I could see him being much better at breaking down Allen's tendencies than a former QB who might even approach things from the standpoint of "Gee, I was good, I could make these reads, he should be able to do it on his own too." I'm not sure ditching Dorsey makes sense, but you may need someone other than Joe Brady to be keeping Allen's head together.
  20. If you thought the run game would be tough when defenses were most worried about Allen's arm, it won't get much easier when they will be expecting a 50/50 or greater balance.
  21. Hey now, that "pick the new guy on defense and hammer him" train has already left the station, don't bother stopping it now!
  22. I should start a companion thread, "Why oh why can't the Bills research time travel so they can kidnap Jim Brown and the Hogs and bring them to 2022?"
  23. I kinda hope that the coaches & medical staff all know it's minor, but that they've decided to slow play it to let the players think about their season hanging in the balance. This team lost motivation around this part of the schedule in 2021, and Sunday (and the last quarter or two of GB) should be flashing lights. This Minnesota game could quickly turn into last season's Indianapolis game if their heads are in the clouds. It sucks to think these guys need reasons to get up for games.
