agreed 96 - the year of the WR (keyshawn #1, marvin, moulds, etc.) - you put that exact class in todays NFL and a QB gets drafted first round

hey guys... I just got back from the future... here is what we do... ROUND ONE - MATT BARKLEY - QB - USC ROUND TWO - KEVIN MINTER - ILB - LSU ROUND THREE - RYAN NASSIB - QB - CUSE everyone was posting on here how happy they were because drafting two QB's we are bound to get one of them right. people were also shocked to see Kevin Minter drop to us in the second, but then again, we had some gold fall to us last year too... (ps - for you gamblers - Ravens and Packers played in the Superbowl - can't tell you who wins though, I don't want to ruin the space/time continuim)

like I said before... I think THE FRANCHISE goes Barkley with our #1 pick (meaning all the people who have say in our pick that did not work for Syracuse last year), 2nd round we go full Nix and take the best defensive SEC and Marrone gets Nassib with our 3rd round pick as their grooming project...

Ol Dirty Nassib... that's what I am calling him (even though we are drafting Barkley) ps - he clearly states he loves playing in a dome and not in cold weather...

the answer is simple guys... the writing has been on the wall for a long time now... 1) Fitz stays 2) We are drafting Matt Barkley - we probably would have drafted him last year if he came out, and even the year before. with Geno getting all this hype, and his shoulder injury and USC's drop in the BCS, it enables us to get a "#1 pick QB" at 8. 3) They compete for the job. Fitz is our opening day starter, but Barkley is breathing down his neck. Any late picks, and collapses, and we hand the helm over to our rookie QB to develop. What decides wether this works or not is getting a DC who gambles and lights fire under our probowl loaded roster. We get our defense going, and we have a wonderful QB controversy in Buffalo (think Niners of this year)

I'll make a stab at it... 1) Do whatever we need to do, to draft Geno Smith... and make him our day one starter 2) Hire an offensive coordinator who can utilize Geno/Spiller/Stevie and... 3) Dwayne Bowe (sign him) 4) Hire a defensive coordinator who can get our d line dominating and hungry 5) After Geno, draft BPA regardless of what position he is at

why is drafting Te'o a solution to every single defensive problem in this thread? HE IS NOT THAT GOOD

wrong... I have watched his college games, AND high school games... great talent, great leader, amazing story, but not a dominant NFL level player

Barkley would have been a top 5 pick if he came out ANY year before this... we would be lucky to get him late A shoulder injury dropped him lower than he should be as of now, and keep in mind he was the QB of the #1 ranked team in the nation one game into the season... the combine will boost his stock If we get Geno or Barkley we should be ECSTATIC! Give our D some direction, give Spiller the ball, and give us a new QB and we are a wild card team (all fanhood aside)
