  1. love it! He has definitely earned it with the LB play the past couple seasons.
  2. McDermott is here for the entirety of Josh Allen's career, so anyone thinking of Johnson coming here as HC should do themselves a favor and forget about it. He is as secure as any coach in the NFL. There's literally nothing other than a total collapse and missing the playoffs 2 years in a row that would even put him in danger of being fired.
  3. Brady is single and ready to mingle...
  4. I've always been a fan of Andy Reid and I cannot stand Belichick. Brady or anything that comes from the Patriots. I want the Bills there first and foremost, but failing that, anything that threatens the "GOATs" from NE is good with me. For me it's a simple question: what do Patriots fans want? I want the opposite.
  5. Well, the Allen Favre comparisons are the best I think. Both are bonfires of a player who when at their best are basically unstoppable but also can be a bit up and down. That (and McDermott's obsession with paying guys on defense instead of offense) might limit Allen to a couple shots at the SB. Mahomes is a lot like Brady actually, just always there. Even in a down year he's in the SB. He'll have better weapons in the future. To get 7 rings you need to have a couple Panthers and Rams super bowl wins mixed in there, where you're kind of not the same team but win anyway. I just imagine the agony of Patriots fans and it pleases me. Allen will win at least 1 SB here, so I'll be fine personally.
  6. even better, I hope Brady is calling the Super Bowl when Mahomes wins #7. If we're going to suffer at least Patriots fans should too. LOL
  7. it's not a deep lake for all its size, and that troubles me
  8. cool. As soon as the Bills are out from now on I want KC to win it all. I want Mahomes to tie Brady in rings if the Bills can't be in it.
  9. IF the Chiefs win we're going to start getting into the Andy Reid GOAT talk. Here's where the GOAT scoreboard will stand: Age at start of 2024 season (next fall): Belichick 72, Reid 66 All time playoff wins in NFL HC history: Belichick (31), Reid (26) All time HC wins (regular season only): Shula 328, Halas 318, Belichick 302, Reid 258 Rings: Belichick 6, Reid 3 (as a HC, both have rings as assistants as well) So, Belichick has a stronger case, even with a KC win, but the gap is narrowing. Plus, Reid will (hopefully, because I like him a lot more than Belichick) continue coaching for a handful more years whereas Bill might be done. People forget, when Belichick was 65 (the age Reid is today) he also wasn't where he is now rings-wise or wins wise. Regular season HC wins: Belichick leads by 44. That's 4 typical seasons in KC and Reid will be ahead of him. If he coaches 6 more seasons he will have a shot at passing Shula for #1 overall. Super Bowl wins: Bill will probably always have this. I could see Reid getting to 4, but the AFC is too good for KC to just always make it (right?!). Coaching tree: Belichick's assistants have been a disaster as HC, except for Vrabel. Reid has a couple of SB winners (Harbaugh and Pederson) as well as fairly successful coaches like McDermott, Rivera, and even Bowles, whose team way overachieved this season. To sum up, ASSUMING 5 more years for Reid after this one, which would make him 1 year younger than Belichick is now: Rings: advantage Bill (probably, but 6-3, or 6-4) All Time regular season wins: Andy, almost certainly All time playoff wins: Andy, almost certainly (he'll need 5 to tie, so that's pretty realistic) Coaching tree: Andy by a mile Ability to adapt to today's game and players: Andy by a mile This will be a fun debate: Bill has the advantage in rings. Andy will have more regular season wins, more playoff wins, might be the #1 HC all-time in regular season and playoff wins, had over 60% winning percentage and 150+ wins before Mahomes ever played a down, won with 2 different teams, and has a coaching tree that consists of multiple successful and SB winning head coaches (including hopefully McDermott) Really, all anyone on the Belichick side will be able to say is "more rings." It's not nothing, but Andy will have him beat in every single other category.
  10. The thing is, he doesn't seem able/willing to be flexible and adjust. It's "the Patriot Way" no matter what. Grumble grumble. Tisk. shrug. When it's working he's the evil Jedi master in the hoodie with glowing red eyes. When he has Mc Jones at QB and Matt Patricia as OC he's just a grumpy old man in a hoodie with a losing record.
  11. everything about the Browns is gross.
  12. There's like 3 AFC teams without a budding superstar QB, so we have to solve that one first.
  13. I'm still not a believer, although you have to give Purdy credit for hanging in there and leading his team back when things looked hopeless. That said, 49ers got some lucky bounces and dumb Lions coaching decisions that if they don't happen, neither does the comeback. Great story, either way, no doubt about it!
  14. It's going to be so strange to hear Brady doing these games full-time. From what I've seen so far, it looks like his angle is "I'm the old school football guy." He's always saying how it's impossible to play defense now, the game is softer, etc. Hilariously ironic, for sure, given that he would throw a tantrum if anyone touched him.
  15. Wow, gotta give credit to the 49ers and also Brock Purdy. Definitely didn't see this coming at half time
  16. Plus there's always an outside chance that they get to this round and Dallas is the opponent
  17. Seems like every time I watch the 49ers Shanahan has that same "WTF is happening?!" Look on his face
  18. 49ers escaped last week because Green Bay got tense and started turning it over
  19. Yup. If Marty swapped in as OC at 28-3 the Falcons win that game. It took Matt Ryan getting hit for a sack fumble plus a bunch of incomplete passes to help NE come back.
  20. Not sure but that's besides the point. Purdy can't be league MVP when he's not even the most important player on his own offense
  21. 49ers are built to play from ahead, which takes your run game away and let's them run screens and draws all day long.
  22. All those who suggested Purdy for MVP... He's a cool story, no doubt. But he's the guy who limits their offense. He's not even the MVP of his own offense.
