  1. The issue for me is timing. We can't sign or trade someone until the league year begins. So that window is extremely tight to make a move and move on from Tyrod. If day 3 comes and we don't have anyone we're at a bit of a crossroads. Do we cut him full well knowing we don't have another starter on the roster? The draft isn't until May - so if the plan is to cut Tyrod and draft someone, we may be forced to move up since everyone will know we're going QB. At the very least, a team may look to jump us in the 2nd if we don't go QB in round 1.
  2. I want to bring Tyrod back so that the haters can have to endure 2 more years of him. Their hate is so much stronger than my like of... pretty much anything.
  3. Denver's a wildcard to me, they could be in play for any QB at this point. New coach, but I don't think they're handing the keys to Lynch after last year. They were a playoff team with better QB play.
  4. hmm - where are the destinations other than buffalo? Cleveland LA Chargers if they trade rivers - reunite with Lynn (doubtful) Houston Denver San Francisco NYJ Jax Wash if they move on from Kirk (doubtful) Chicago Arizona (palmer insurance) LA rams - the guy who they drafted might still need some seasoning or a backup who can give them a spark Of all that? I could see Denver or Houston making a solid push. They believe that they have playoff rosters, and the QB position held them back. Both can also low-ball a bit. If Tyrod wants to win, he goes to one of them. Arizona could be a dark horse too. Palmer's getting up there, and if he goes down their season goes kaput.
  5. He's a redshirt guy most likely. Tore his ACL late in the college season so he will miss minicamps, OTAs, and probably some of camp. He will be so far behind the curve at that point that 2018 would be his best chance to see some real time on the field. He also has to keep his nose clean until then.
  6. They just say he has to "set" The one that bothers me is when smoeone on the defense jumps offsides and the o-line just stands up and points... you KNOW the snap count! he doesn't! Snap the ball with him in the neutral zone and get the free play, or call it a false start. It's so annoying.
  7. http://www.steelersdepot.com/2017/01/james-harrison-says-spends-350k-year-taking-care-body/ I think this is what Collinsworth meant.
  8. Who's won what... 1 postseason game...?
  9. Wentz bought his linemen shotguns...
  10. It's like asking why women wear jewelry... because it looks awesome! It's not about telling the time.
  11. When my friend worked for buffalo, he said this guy was always in the gym fwiw
  12. 3 picks on "over the middle" passes this game... and a couple more almost picks. romans smiling I'm sure
  13. They replaced hoyer with this guy... just remember that...
  14. Obriens coaching isn't suited to beating New England. We all know u don't beat them kicking field goals. Sure enough they're down 11 after kicking 2 fgs
  15. By not setting his feet, and trusting his arm too much
  16. Osweiler.. sucks. In 2 drives I've yelled throw the damn ball then laughed at the results. He plays so scared! What's savage doing?
  17. No interest in chan. Offense looked played out in New York. I also don't want to recycle our own trash, let alone the jets trash...
  18. Remember - his option bonus has not triggered yet. We'd only pay the remainder of his signing bonus that was split over 4 years through 2020. The base salary for next year is also not guaranteed until he's on the team on that 3rd day. At that point the full 2017 base is guaranteed, the option bonus is paid out, and 3.25 million of 2018 salary is guaranteed. Basically you're dropping 30.25 mil on him next year, and 40 over the next 2 because you wouldn't cut him if you kept him beyond this year. Once we trigger the option bonus its 3.1 million spread out over 5 years of the cap.
  19. His cap hit for the next 2 years is 15 and 16. Then we'd have the option to release him for about 10M hit split over 2 years. If he somehow made it 3 years without restructuring we could cut him for a negligible loss. Not that much different than 10-12 mil per year. You don't extend a player you expect to cut - you're just delaying the inevitable dead cap hit. A restructuring would mean a whole entire new contract most likely. The option bonus hasn't kicked in yet, so you'd be looking at a new option bonus, or signing bonus, or converting something to a roster bonus for this year.
  20. They would have to extend him or he'd have to take a pay cut.
  21. Yea - kicking isn't really something you coach much. The kickers usually kinda... know what they're doing. Blocking and coverages though - we never had a kick or punt blocked, no TD returns.... even with a kicker who didnt have a good leg and a punter who had a really bad year.
  22. He already said - i need to look it over... twice. And theyre like - if you want to keep him, can you? ummm yeah? Why don't we get an offensive coordinator first before we decide whether we're keeping our QB? That we have until march to decide on
