Wanna dump Tyrod, then who's the new QB
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right - But we're in a tough spot NEEDING a QB is all I'm saying. We don't draft high enough to ensure we get our guy, and I'm not sure this is the best draft to get our guy. Gotta take shots, but i don't want to waste high picks on a project. -

Eh - He was good not great. He was so bad that they ended up with the 1 overall pick for 2004. He picked it up for 2 years - but at that point they had to make a choice... They were wrong. He was 1st team all-pro his first year out of San Diego - and won a super bowl in New Orleans. -

I agree - we need to walk away with this thinking we got our guy. If we have to trade up to get him then do it - but he'd better be freaking good. I don't want to trade up for a guy who has issues like Goff and Wentz. -

It's tough to evaluate this early on without any workouts etc.- but there seems to be a pretty much growing contingent of Kizer/Trubinsky Watson/Mahomes/kaaya and everyone else Now there's no way were out at 10 - Likely only 2 go by pick 10 I'd say. Maybe Bears, and probably Jets. Concern of Cleveland jumping ahead of 10 and maybe taking Mahomes. But there are like 5 teams ahead of us who have worse QBs than we do. I figure if we walk from Tyrod, one of them probably has Tyrod and will go BPA. But you're in a pickle either way The guy you want may be gone, and you're going to be on the clock in like 10-15 minutes. You have to decide who you want if you stay pat, and who you target to trade down if that's the goal. It becomes a game of chicken too. Any of the teams with older qb's like New orleans or SD may move in there to snag one. And then there's Houston who's a QB away from being a pretty good team. So you may not want to trade down very far since they may consider moving up a couple picks to snag a watson or something. I just don't want to walk out of the draft with who we had like 4th or 5th best on our board - and have that guy walk in with the starting job. -

We're back on the arguing about whether he's good or not. The thread implies we already dumped him - who's the new QB?! -

I dunno - does keeping Tyrod prohibit you from drafting your long-term answer? If there's the guy you really like at 10, you can absolutely pull the trigger. I mean look at what Philly did, they brought back bradford and signed daniels. Then traded up for Wentz. They purged almost all of their bad contracts in one year and are in much better shape to be competitive in the future. Don't say we won't because we haven't in the past, its a new owner and a GM who probably feel's he has a bit more freedom. I just hate the idea of going into the draft with no one... we don't pick high enough and i fear the guy we really want isn't there. -

Problems with drafting your replacement - we have NO other option. We wouldn't have tyrod, and we'll have a gaping hole at the most important position. Of the first 6 picks - 5 would have to at least consider QBs. The Browns are the only that I'll say probably won't unless one of the dudes really steps up. Niners/Bears both need QBs. So in all likelihood 1 comes off the board there (maybe 1 snags Tyrod and thinks they can improve elsewhere). Next you have Jacksonville - who may fall in love with a Watson or Mahomes and try to sell tickets - but this could be a spot to trade up to. The Titans will want an impact player at 5, or to trade and get more picks (more bullets - more chances to hit). Either way the price to move from 10 to 4 or 5 is next year's first... 6th is the Jets - so that means another comes off the board. The next 3 are unlikely to take a QB - but that doesn't mean Houston, Cleveland, Chicago. But everyone knows we want one - so this will be where offers may come in to jump us. The rookie we get might be the 3rd or 4th off the board, and a massive overdraft. And we're getting excited for the 3rd or 4th best QB in a mediocre QB class... -
Kelly Skipper Named Bills' RB Coach
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Slight caveat to the "last in yards per game" stat. They had the fewest attempts in the league. They threw 629 times with a rookie QB and a bad line - to such studs like James Jones and Andre Holmes... Part of the purge of reggie mckenzie that actually made the team relevant again. I remember them being alright when Mcfadden was healthy. So many wasted... everything when you look at those teams though. Heyward-bey in the first. A first for Palmer - but no upgrades to the line. A first for Richard Seymour. Jamarcus! McClain! It's a brutal list. Mckenzie has been a revelation with bringing in talent to that team. -

I'm the same with franks and eggs- i use sri racha for random things i want to add kick to and obviously chinese food. Been mixing it up with green sri racha too - its got a nice garlicky heat. Chili i usually like to do fresh jalapeno (or fresh whatever my friend had in his garden if its the fall) and Lousiana tiger sauce. -

The mouth of the cholula bottle squirts out a ton more sauce too. Tabasco is like 8 shakes to 1 shake of Cholula. That stuff goes faaaast. -

So... Are we trading up? Cholula is great on eggs. I don't care for the pepperiness of tabasco. Maybe i should stop putting regular pepper on my eggs before i try it though. -
McDermott in regards to Tyrod

Roethlisberger is always paired with a great defense when his team's make a run. Manning with Denver last year was just awful. And Elway leaned on a 2000 yard rusher - and also had a very good defense. I mean jeeze, he threw for 123 yards and a pick in the 97 super bowl! The next year they pretty much destroyed the whole league with that defense and davis. Not to mention having a HOF TE, Rod Smith, and McCaffrey. -
I believe that his contract ends after this season. So as soon as the season is over - he's essentially a free agent. We just have to wait until their season ends to interview or hire him.

My biggest gripe with GRo was that he wasn't a pro style at all. We ran few screens, no bubbles, and no swings. We don't bunch receivers, and we don't have rub routes. We ran like 80something percent of plays out of shotgun. Wed jam our receivers closer to the ball so we can create rushing seams easier, but all this really does is make it harder for the middle of the field to work. It was anything but an under center pro style offense.

If Bills dump Taylor, where does he end up?

Gashed in the run game, and we got very few turnovers. -
1-5: Tyrod Taylor is Having Surgery Today
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I normally ignore everything you say - but here goes anyway... Dallas had the best rush defense in the NFL... GB also had a very strong rush defense. In the playoffs this is very important. It's tackling, the most basic function of football defense. And we suck at it. Miami lucked into the playoffs by Baltimore failing. They're not good. Atlanta, and Oakland had poor defenses. They also have all-world offenses. If we have the ability to get Matt Ryan or Carr i pull the trigger. I do want to upgrade the QB position, but the draft is a lottery pick. And going into the draft with no QB is a recipe to get jumped and not get the QB you want. All the free agents are crap. Tell me your brilliant plan, and i'll counter with why it won't happen. PS Roman didn't throw screens with Alex Smith in SF... So i don't think its part of his offense. -
Rivers not interested in LA - nevermind he is
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My main agrument here - is he a hall of famer? 5 playoff appearances in 13 seasons. 4 wins. Never even been to a super bowl. Been in 1 AFC chamiponship. I dunno - I guess he'll be rewarded for Longevity - but in his era you have: Brady, Peyton, Eli, Big Ben, Rodgers, Brees... How many QBs from 1 era get into the hall? -
Proposed new penalty, and rules for review
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to John Gianelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah - how much would it be to throw a bunch of dudes into a room to watch football all sunday/monday? Each one gets a game, multiple camera angles and can review a call right into the refs. There's very rarely more than what - 8 or 9 games going on at a single time. What would you have to pay these guys like 60k a year? Put em in buffalo, and you could probably pay them less. They legit only work during football season - and in the offseason you could require them to complete some i dunno testing scenarios or something. Make them go into an office if only to make sure that they aren't drinking on football sundays. -

How does this address the referee's who keep blowing the calls?
