  1. yeah - his pursuit was the thing i noticed the most. Seemed even slower in the NFL. He's been fine though, just never developed into much of a pass rusher.
  2. Yeah - i just looked at that board and felt like - top 10 talent with injury issues... or someone at 19 who might go in the 2nd any other year.
  3. Yeah - not having the 5th year option makes him more tradeable.
  4. Wow - wonder if its because he plays RT or they think they can replace him.
  5. I liked jaylon smith or myles jack there IIRC. Just felt like - these guys would be stud players. Neither has turned out to be incredible or anything - smith's a nice MLB tho.
  6. I mean... washington's a FA, Raglands a starting LB for a... lets say "evolving" KC defense, and Shaq's a rotational piece on our D-line. I think what you have to evaluate on Whaley's drafting was need vs. BPA - and his trades. Moving up for Ragland - a need - got us Cardale instead of Dak - assuming you still wanted to go QB in the 4th. Supposedly ragland was 1st round talent - but only fit in a certain scheme
  7. Yup - Shaq's basically Kelsay. Shouldn't be a primary option for any team in the league honestly. Depth rotation piece. Okafor got 3yrs 18 - anything more than that for Shaq would be a surprise to me (beyond the slight YoY increase in cap%). If he has a good year maybe he could hit the Henry Anderson mark - 3yr 25 mil. But 13 mil for a year, guaranteed or not is still very high for the player as he stands currently.
  8. I would think fisher could fill the lead blocker role too. The issue is if you like sills or williams or anyone else as a future contributor - putting them on the PS exposes them. Same goes for carrying a 5th end etc. Does a FB get you anymore wins this year? If the answer is no - you may have to sacrifice him to ensure you're keeping someone you value a lot. We didn't really replace bush with another big nickel safety so it's hard to say we dont need him. He played in about 40% of snaps last year. We carried 9 oline last year - and the number looks the same here. If dawkins or ford moves interior i could see moving on from one - likely teller due to financial commitment and the fact that i don't see him outplaying Spain for the LG starting spot.
  9. Love that we're carrying 2 Oline from 2018 into 2019. 9 Oline is awesome too - especially with ford/dawkins having some positionally flexibility. Long active game days as a backup Center unless he can win a job. Spain and feliciano coming in trying to earn playing time too. I could see cutting dimarco and carrying another WR. Or same with Fisher. Dimarco brings some special teams value and I'm not sure Fisher would bring the same value there. Either way - lose dimarco and you can probably bring fisher in as a FB in goal line work. I think it all depends on how Jackson plays in the preseason. If he looks terrible we can probably leave him on the practice squad. If he's lighting it up it may be more of an issue on how we could keep him. As for Dimarco - i wrote it above... no need for him and fisher. If we're only using dimarco in goalline work that should be easy enough to get fisher up to speed. If we're planning to use him more (doubtful) i would just cut fisher.
  10. I saw another where they at least explained it as - super bowl odds in reverse. Teams QBs will get hurt - those teams will suffer. Other teams will benefit with wins that were chalked as losses earlier. This is also just incredibly lazy in general. Theres still free agency - trades - etc. You have no idea how teams are going to approach 2020 anyway.
  11. Yeah - I'm with you. Don't bet on your team.
  12. So I'm a bowling ball.... niceeeeeeeee. Yeah, i like how when people tackle him he doesnt like run into their tackle, he like absorbs the energy backwards and accelerates on a dime.
  13. Hughes had 0 unnecessary roughness, and 0 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in 2018.
  14. 5 are probably top 100ish again though.
  15. Beyond even the front-end like lost yards, auto first downs etc. I feel like we had quite a few nice plays come off the board for stupid stuff beyond holding like illegal shifts, or not lining up on the LOS.
  16. 10 sacks in 3 years. Gotta do more than set the edge in a defense where we rarely blitz. I guess I'd pick it up since we're probably not going to be on the hook for the deal if he doesn't pick up his play. Kind of a gamble if he suffers an injury and can't pass a physical - but i like gambling so I'm in.
  17. When we do the online franchise i'll grab a stud DE. Torch the computer for tons of sacks. When you play on all-madden they complete everything anyway, so the only way to stop them is to sack them. I sacked russell wilson 10 times in a game with mario williams ?
  18. I find myself playing a floating MLB in madden a lot so i usually get someone like wagner or keuchly. Clog the middle of the field. They have good hit power for popping fumbles on slot WRs too. But good corners are awesome because you can play a lot more press coverage.
  19. Nope! Go with a QB who can scramble. I personally like speed, but having a dominant #1 is awesome because some of the spectacular catch mechanics are just broken. Plus money plays work with just about anyone so its about maximizing your yards afterwards. Speed on certain routes, guys who can break a tackle and add extra yards on others.
  20. Tyrod for me. Fitz has much better superficial numbers but the career INT% is 3.5 and he's had seasons over 4. Tyrod's is 1.5, and he's had a season as low as 1%. He's also a more dangerous scrambler, which has value as a backup because some teams really have problems with running QBs. In a mid-game replacement too you may not have gameplanned for it. Tyrod has the sack% that is bothersome, but while sacks kill drives, INTs lead to better field position thus resulting in more points. I don't really want my backup QB in shootouts anyways because you're probably losing that game anyway. Barkley seems like the backup who's just a bit of an unknown. Had a good game against the Jets and re-upped as he liked his situation here. I don't see him ever starting but i think in a few years he may get an extended look like McCown did with TB, CLE, and NYJ.
  21. Yeah, my buddy won our online league back to back years with Terrelle Pryor. So frustrating, super fast and a rocket arm.
  22. Red zone rushing (aided by Allen scrambles) 68 189 and 13 TDs (7 by Allen) - and that's inside 20. Sub 3.0 YPC. Taking out Allen you have 47 carries for 94 yards and 6 TDs. Inside 5 we had 14 carries for 1 yard and 6 TDs. The line was improved, we brought in 2 guys who can hopefully help in this area.
  23. It's a position where intangibles matter as much as talent. You need to have an arm, a quick release, and need to be able to think quickly. In the NFL you need to aid in setting the line, you need to work hard counts, run no-huddle, run plays from under center etc. The teams confidence in your ability to do these things and excel at them is what might make someone determine what makes you a high or low pick. Lots of guys with cannon arms, not a lot of guys get drafted so high JUST because of arm talent. You also need your QB to be a leader - to elevate the players around him. To inspire their teammates to believe that they are never out of it. Allen has that charisma, while others don't. Thats just the things I see when I see the comparisons.
  24. Considering the amount of 11 personnel that teams use, its not the most important position in the world anymore.
  25. Yeah - he breaks tackles in a very interesting way. I think it was puzzling to people when they looked at his combine numbers. He was average to poor across the board in conventional combine activities - so its hard to get excited i guess?
