Whos the MLB if edmunds moves? Also - from a run fits perspective, it doesn't really matter who the MLB is. If Edmunds isn't manning the center zone in cover 2/cover 4 - who is? Klein? Also, rookie TEs tend to do nothing and the veteran TE market is garbage. Buffalo would have 3 running backs - with we'll say best case scenario of 350 carries. The offensive line is exactly the same, or probably worse. Special teams loses a ton of snaps as well.

You do against KC so you don't get the hell blitzed out of you on 3rd and long. It helps having a TE like gronk that you can run in 11. If they wanna play their 6 DBs that means you have a DB matched up with him 1x1. They also did that same play we did where you leak the TE out and have the iso Wr block - and it works so much better when gronk just trucks the DB there.

All well and good - but brady was in complete control. The end of half TD followed by the drive after KC scored to bring it 21-9 were just complete game changers. Forced KC to be one dimensional, and I felt like if they needed to score more they would have.

There's a ton of teams with needs - but id assume the watson pin drops first (if at all). After that its a lot of filling gaps and waiting for the draft. If the guy Denver wants at 9 falls to them, they will draft him. If not, they might consider Darnold.

Gannon and kerry collins come to mind. Players who were essentially late bloomers, or just needed to find a new place. Drew brees is the big one.

See in today's nfl I don't know that you need those guys. Players on both lines have become more athletic, and those that are 1Ts tend to be quicker than they used to be. Even pure nose tackles like brandon williams are sub-350 and deceptively athletic.

Jimmy G did play in a super bowl... but he wasn't exactly the guy that got them there.

I'd say he was overpaid. Of the signings on the definsive line though I'd say he had the greatest impact. As for Atkins - im not going to lie and say ive watched the bengals play at all. Could be mis-cast in the defense, obviously 2020 was an injury wash year. Played for years with thomas too, and vegas has a bit of a need for leadership and a center fielder. He certainly has the size for the position.

I always liked sherman the player though. He's smart, has good instincts. He's a perfect fit for this zone defense. I know we are living on the loss to KC and this whole need for speed - but we do have to actually get back to the championship game again. I do think he'd help there.

Atkins was injured all year - but 2 years ago he had 10 sacks. He's also traditionally had good tackle numbers. And he played in 16 games in 6 consecutive years before this one (not injury prone). I don't know the extent of the shoulder injury or anything, but i doubt his explosiveness was sapped in 1 season. This would have to be dependent on his price. Suh got 1yr 8 million with escalators, after 1yr 9.25 and only 2 sacks. In this lowered cap season - Jefferson and butler wouldn't get the 7-8mil per year that they got... so i guess it depends the direction they want to go with the position. I think Atkins will get scooped up rather early by a team who wants a vet on the line but thats just me. Part of me thinks he would be a great player to split snaps with oliver, but it would come down to price.

I think what shocked me the most - phillip gaines... who the terrible 2018 bills cut mid-season. Was signed in 2019 by Houston... and brought back in 2020. The guy was either a gaping hole or a penalty. No wonder their defense was so terrible.

Short field off a penalty, Croom fumble TD, then peterman pick, then peterman pick 6, then a cohen punt return to the like 10. Just like that - down 28-0. Phillip gaines had like 100 yards of DPI penalties too.

Even weirder - the game chicago scored 41 points - Chicago had 11 first downs, 190 yards, and a turnover. Buffalo was 1-2 in games where the opponent had fewer than 200 yards, also losing to Miami 21-17 (charles clay drop in the end zone). In that one, mckenzie muffed a punt that resulted in 7 and buffalo had 130 yards in penalties. Both TD drives were assisted by penalties.

Yeah, could end up somewhere like miami (no watson), houston (no watson), indy (assuming they miss on other QBs). Then theres a bunch of other teams who just dont have QBs at all like NO, Washington, etc.

Honestly he'd be a good fit with New Orleans. But they arent trading picks - they're so cap screwed they need their picks.
