Yes but this was a fluke. Oakland tried to squib but kicked a low line drive and Tasker, as a blocker, snagged it out of midair close to the 30 yard line then ran down to the 1 yard line. Helluva play but not even remotely a planned KO return for him http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=0lTywa3wafU#t=1710 It was really fricking cold that day FWIW - the previous game vs. the Jets too. Ridiculous.

Three guys that need more chatter:

He gets to the ball in a bad mood. Some really nice pops on RBs the last 2 weeks. -
So does Byrd play on sunday or not?

FWIW - If the Bills IR him they are doing him a favor. He can say to other teams that he was really fine after week 4 but the Bills are asses yaddah yaddah yaddah. The longer he sits out the other way it makes his foot issues more of a big red flag to a team who might want to give him money. His situation isnt really going to get better so long as he plays football, it's about management of it and if he displays to suitors that his feet were bad enough to sit out 10 or 11 weeks after having had a whole off-season to rest it he makes a problem for himself. Hard to imagine somebody throwing Ed Reed money over a long term to a guy with a chronic condition in both feet that caused him to miss most or all of a season. Frankly at this point I don't care if he plays or not. I've moved on and don't really consider him part of the team anymore. He's going to do whatever he is going to do. These guys are mercenaries and that's fine. Mercenaries are disposable by nature and have no emotional tie. Some of you have aptly noted that he doesn't care what we think and you're right but really how much do we care about him as opposed to a Fred Jackson who has played his balls off for us, gotten stiffed for money at every turn and has hardly said a word about it? Fred is a warrior - he does it because it's what he loves and we love him for it. Byrd isn't the only merc and he won't be the last, just see him for what he is and move on. You need some hired guns but you build around the warriors. When your warriors also happen to be top 3 players at their position you end up with a great football team. People have brought up Bruce Smith in the past with his myriad of holdouts but when the games counted Bruce was always there unless he was legitimately hurt (1991) or he forgot to get a flu shot (1995 playoffs). There was no mealy mouthed maybe he's in maybe he's out crap. Ditto Thurman and Kelly and Reed. Warriors all and they are beloved. Cornelius Bennett less so because he left at his first chance and he held out as a rookie so he showed his cards early on as the hired gun type. Like I said you need some of them, but you can see the impact on legacy. And I'm aware that Jim would have been a hired gun as well since he spurned us initially but anyone who doubts Jim's warrior cred never saw the beating he took and kept getting up from to win games. He was a beast and if he wanted to beg out of games there were PLENTY of chances. He earned his status. -
Bolden is banged up today too might not play. Ridley, Blount, Amendola and Sudfeld will be the keys today. I think that was pretty expected and it would have been more surprising had he played. Sudfeld can play so we still need to cover the TE. I expect to see a 2001-2002 Pats offense today. Ridley and Blount pounding the rock, Vereen playing the role of Kevin Faulk, using lots of screens and play action to suck the LBs up and work the middle of the field with an occasional shot deep.

If there were ever a day where you might be able to get away with coming up on the Pats* WRs and pressing the crap out of them it's tomorrow. Brady or no Brady guys still have to get off the LOS.

It's a giant Superfund site. Think about all the industry that's gone on on that acreage over the years. The park is a good way to develop without breaking actual ground. Nasty nasty stuff under that ground. Ditto Bethlehem Steel, massive Brownfield. FWIW - if the Bills built that dome they would have moved away 25 years ago when it became obsolete like the Astrodome and was unable to be renovated like RWS has been to extend it's lifespan.

I'll be happy to piss all over the Pats locker room if it will help...or even if it won't

Tom Brady was listed as "probable" with a shoulder injury for 3 whole years until the league changed the format of the injury report to (full practice, limited practice, or no practice) until Fridays when it reverts to the old format. Basically - the NFL will yell at you and slap your hand if you fib the injury report grossly but if you keep it nebulous they leave it alone.

Goodwin and Woods are high draft picks. They were not in the The Rick discussion. Easley is not even remotely a rookie having been through camp twice already and Hogan isn't a rookie either. Easley and Hogan are 3rd year players who were both in the 2011 draft class and have had 2 full offseasons to prepare and get acclimated to NFL demands. He didn't earn the spot now but check in with The Rick in year 3.

The wings I ate the other day caused some rim fire. I didn't get any time lapsed footage though. -

he wasn't subject to waivers due to some CBA clause. he's a fa right now likely in negotiations with multiple teams. good player. would be our best lg right now and a damn sight better than legursky as a swing g/c. if they land him I wouldn't be shocked to see legursky be injury settled. haven't made the move yet to cover their butts. also saying in public that legursky isn't going on returning it or if at all keeps negotiation position as strong as possible with velasco. perceived extreme need increases the price. -
Sweet article on Tuel, quotes from his dad

When do we start talking about beer? Had a Flying Bison Rusty Chain this past weekend. It was decent. Reminded me a lot of Yuengling Lager. Is Pumking out yet?

There are reasons why grunge, angst, and heroin came from the Pac Northwest. :-) -
Because Comcast already bought it This is a bit of a different issue but I wouldn't be surprised to see NBC/Comcast or Fox/Fox Sports 1 try to push out ABC/ESPN when that bid comes around. Each are pushing their own 24 hr sports network and that would be a nice plum of programming to poach from the Mothership

Greg Lloyd - similar size - Hughes is heavier.
