So the Snooze immediately counters with a byline from Albany that contends the JBJ group is only looking in WNY. What I took away from that is that JBJ will be the controlling owner. That fact, in and of itself, helps us. His entire net worth is only in the 300 million range according to Forbes. The NFL is well known to prefer the primary owner to be able to foot the bill themselves even if they are part of a group. Also, there MUST be a majority owner so if JBJ puts his ENTIRE net worth on the line here their max bid can only be in the 900 million range. Certainly JBJ can finance his portion but the owners take that into account as well and if they have the choice between a highly leveraged bid and someone who can pay in cash they will approve the cash bidder every time. Also, it's fishy to me that the Albany guy pops this story.

I think they should refer to him as transsexual musician. Not that there's anything wrong with that. -

It's a bifurcated anus. He can fart like a harmonica. -
Are we sure he didn't say ass-ending?

My wife heard Jaws speak at a trade show and someone asked him afterward his thoughts re: the sale and he said that he'd support JBJ there as well. They're buddies, they owned the Philadelphia Soul together and have had several other joint ventures. Let's put it this way. I don't mind JBJ per se. I mind Tanenbaum so if you move the figurehead to a different ship I could, in theory, support that.

You could be right about Trump. There are several issues with a bid from him. His gambling interests, his personality, and that whole USFL thing don't really work in his favor. That being said, you know that we'd have a loud voice stumping for us in owners meetings. RE: The USFL, i don't see any of the legacy ownership groups voting to approve him.

Jaws is of course aware that if we trusted him and then got screwed we'd hunt him down and crucify him at OLV, figuratively speaking of course.

This is a test of Brandon's commitment in Marrone and Whaley. He could probably get away with marginalizing Littman and Overdorf if not outright firing them but if it went badly it would put his head squarely on the block. Polian hated these guys too and they all survived so football acumen and success aren't necessarily relevant. It's the Bills after all.

I notice the question you asked wasn't in 1989 and wasn't along the lines of, "Lots of Sabre fans still remember the Summit Series and don't really care for Russians. Do you think you should go back to the Soviet Union?" Every question has a time and place. Tim was being a troll and he knows it. And due to the way he chose to be "confrontational" he'll never get anything from Manuel again. So clearly it was well done and worth it. He didn't get any actual information, he burned somebody and he cut off a source of information in the future from a guy who might be around 10 years. Solid move.

I guess. The bigger point is that there were several, better, opportunities to ask Jim that question in an equally douchey way and nobody ever did. I'd pay money to watch Graham ask Kelly that question TODAY let alone in 86-87. There's a difference between asking an incisive question and making an ass of yourself. When the time finally comes to tear down the Peace Bridge they should put Graham on the job, he burns bridges like nobody else.
