  1. exactly. honestly, who from the active roster do you cut at this point? You can't cut any defensive backs. can't cut TE's or O-Lineman...who do you cut?
  2. That right there speaks miles to the amount of respect that he gets from his team. Good to see. By the way...I love the quote in your signature
  3. We've got enough receivers that know the system, and Aiken (on the P.S.) is good enough to be brought up instead of trying to bring someone else in.
  4. Kyle Williams doesn't seem as effective as he was last season because our opponents are game planning in a way that they keep the play to the OUTSIDE away from Williams and Dareus. The idea is to limit his effectiveness to the point where he can't impact the play because it's away from him. When you shut down the middle, it opens a wide range of plays to the outside: screens, pitches, quick slants and outs. With those you can now play them straight up instead of gambling, and this should limit the amount of big gains from small plays due to over committing to a play or trying to have the outside defenders speed back to the middle. Williams is doing his job, the problem lies to the outside, where the defenders are getting beat. Williams and Dareus are still swallowing up defenders the way they are supposed to (are they as effective as they could? on some plays, no), and making it extremely difficult to rush up the middle. there is no cause for concern in the middle, the cause for concern lies to the outside.
  5. Well this Sucks! Down in Ithaca, Damn Syracuse broadcast...ugh!!
  6. C'mon haven't you ever seen Blazing Saddles? you just drive in circles, the natives laugh at you, and let you go...
  7. If I had to guess, I'd say Cornell. it's the more popular of the two around town...
  8. If I'm not mistaken, it can only be blacked out locally (meaning in Cinci), and not Buffalo's viewing area.
  9. I wholeheartedly agree. Wow. some of those responses were just ridiculous.
  10. I understood the reference, but seeing it typed out as a reminder to everyone else, just gave me the chills. thanks for that!
  11. I was one of those people who thought that he snubbed Merriman, but upon rewatching for the umpteenth time I noticed that he was able to, from the depths of his evil, hoody less heart, find a small hand...brushing... lol
  12. Best way to chalk up Cinnci's D is comparing it the gaudy pass D numbers for the Bills the last year or so. The Bills only gave up x yards thru the air...but a gazzilion on the ground. Until Cinnci plays a GOOD offense (SEE: Bills, Buffalo; FitzMagic, Stevie, Freddy...) they cannot really be gauged. I honestly think they are overhyped all around, so I am in the same boat as you.
  13. ^This. Until our team does more, let us continue to be the under dogs. Keep the ego in check.
  14. I really don't see this as being as close as NE and Oak. I truly believe this game is another KC statement game (at least I hope so). I was saying before another thread was started that the Cinci D isn't really all it's cracked out to be, and their offense is still young and inexperienced. I really expect Chan to have us ready to roll them...
  15. Bills 38 Bengals 10 I see our Defense showing up big time this game, and Dareus getting a sack or two. I also see our offense pouring it on.
  16. oh. Gotcha. Makes sense then. I really don't pay much attention to the color commentators. they all bug me with the timing of their "fun facts"
  17. Wonder if this means Chan has very little faith in Rogers being ready?
  18. I really don't think he's an every down back yet, and nor will he be. I think he is the perfect compliment to Freddy right now. He is toting a pretty decent yard per carry with the limited touches he sees. I think we need to keep him around for a while.
  19. you really think his commentary is that bad? I really have no opinion as I usually can't hear the TV over my friends and myself, but I've heard the same thing from a few people. what makes his commentary the " " Level?
  20. the point is, to make the leap from good to great, your team needs to win games that they truly shouldn't. Am I saying the Bills are great? not yet. I am convinced though that the NE game is a turn for the better though.
  21. Someone I know once said that Good teams win games they should, great teams win games they shouldn't...just saying...
  22. Yeah, I was more or less backing that up ok, There is plenty of reason to believe that any NFL receiver could turn while the ball is the air, unimpeded (that's the important part) and run 5 yards (other important part) and at the very least break the pass up, knock it loose, etc. 5 yards = 15 feet...if an NFL receiver cannot cover 15 or less feet in the time that the ball was coming down, there is a problem (hint: a normal sized person cover 3+ feet in 1 walking stride...and an athlete covers anywhere between 6' and 7' in a running stride). whether the DB jumped or not, the ball was high...er-go it was going deeper, and Nelson was impeded. I would argue the same way if the roles were reversed. This was by and large the right call.
