  1. Did anybody read the ESPN Insider article talking about how the Bills are overrated? I am curious as to what is said, but am not an insider on ESPN (nor do I want to pay for it)
  2. 1) I thought it was a pretty clear cut call due to reasons listed by SEVERAL people...how you can see otherwise just baffles me 2) I absolutely, positively LOVE Chris Berman!
  3. agreed. it's like the playoff beard for hockey. I shaved the day before the Chiefs game...haven't shaved since. I may need to trim soon tho
  4. Remember though, our porous D (it is porous) did hold Tom Brady & Co. to the fewest yards so far this year (albeit 10 less than SD...but still ) . I'd have to agree, however, Cinci's D hasn't really had a great test yet...San Fran and Cleveland are nothing to speak of, only team they really had that has some semblance of an offense is Denver...and still, it's Denver. I believe we pull away with this one and I'd say that it'll be 35-17.
  5. I really hope so. As I said in another thread, this team really needs another win like the one against KC. It will boost confidence already brimming, even against a team like Cinci. We just need to not be overconfident...
  6. Personally I agree that a lot of it comes back to the players themselves. Ok, I was wrong in my assessment about skirting the rules with the cheating, but ultimately, when it comes to the players being dirty, it's really on them.
  7. I don't buy the BB teaches his players to play dirty, I think they do that on their own. Maybe it's Naivety, but I don't think BB is a dirty coach. Did he cheat? yes, he videotaped signs. He exploited the system. If Chan or someone else would've done that, we would be sitting here singing the praise for him for finding a loophole. Did he need that to win? IDK. he ahd some really great defenses back then, and Brady didn't cry every time someone came anywhere near him. He has in the past had some players lay some dirty hits, and IIRC backed up any league imposed discipline, and when his players weren't disciplined, he left the subject alone. I don't think he's any dirtier than any other coach in the league, less the Raiders coach who has said they are trying to be the league bully...but otherwise he's just a football smart coach...and that's my opinion.
  8. This Pats fan is trying to make a clear, and pretty good argument, and is making this a nice discussion. this is just... well...
  9. I dunno. Cinnci's run D isn't awful, although, with Freddy, it's more than just rushing. Either way, their D hasn't really given up a ton of yards...yet. But they haven't played anyone who can roll up the yards yet either...I mean Cleveland and San Fran aren't really explosive offenses. Denver was the only real offensive team. IMO we'll bring their D crashing back down to Earth, and our D is going to have a field day with the Rookie. I think Dareus gets a sack or two, and our secondary continues their INT parade.
  10. It's not that power rankings talk is taboo, it's just that it's mostly opinion of that particular outlet (be it ESPN, Peter King and SI, or NFL.com). They really mean nothing, except for the opinion of those writers is that this is how the teams should be ranked. I'm rather new at posting here, but I have seen over some time that these rankings really do need to be taken with a grain of salt. Honestly, your opinion is yours, but I do not believe that the Bills should be ranked higher yet. I want to see a win against a good team, where we don't have to come from behind. The come from behind wins are great moral boosts, but a flat out win (something along the lines of KC...) would be great to see too. You can only be submissive in the first half so many times before it really bites you...and that is my opinion.
  11. I agree. I honestly think that the call on Byrd was pretty weak, but if that's how they're going to call it, I'll take it every time. I like Barnett's intensity, and showing Welker that this is our house...but that can come back and bite you sometimes. Since it didn't this time, I'll take it.
  12. It's just ridiculous! I really don't care what one woman's opinion is, but when you attack a fan base and insult them like the TU opinion column did (which is no longer an opinion column, it has become a personal attack of the fans...NOT THE TEAM (as the Kristi woman above believes)), you have to expect some lashing out. Are the death threats warranted? by no means. Are the calls to the editor, and the letters, and what not warranted? by all means. This paper came out, and made something personal. As someone who has lived all around the state of New York (started in buffalo, moved to Carlisle when mom was getting her PhD at Albany Med, moved to Dryden/Ithaca, then Roc and Elmira), I have never seen an opinion article of that nature, nor an opinion column turn a general commentary into a personal bash fest. It's an insult to not only the fans, but to journalism altogether! I really hope that the Bills win this weekend, and if they do, I would LOVE to see every Bills fan on this site, and other sites, and every Bills backer in Albany send this woman a nice thank you card for billieving...oh, and include a photo of the scoreboard...
  13. I think this one of the most respectable responses to her. Well written.
  14. I thought about that right after I posted...meh....outliers in statistics
  15. Now that is good news for a Thursday!
  16. This is a very valid post. I really wish we could hear what both sides have to say, and OBD isn't talking about contracts or what their plans are, so for now, it's all a one sided story.
  17. 42-35 Bills. I believe we force the turnovers, and that's what makes the difference in the end. I also believe we get to Brady a few times. I truly think we can pull this off.
  18. You do realize that the team is in talks right now with both Fitz and Stevie per reports right? I am only guessing that it will be a matter of time before they talk to Freddy, especially with the production he has shown.
  19. Watching both of those videos makes me want to go out on the field myself. Look at that 31-0 win in 2003. Watch the SWAGGER of the TEAM as a whole. They didn't just think they were going to win, they knew. This sunday, the team needs to come out with the same swagger of that team, knowing that they have more of a chance than the Trent Edward run teams, and the JP run teams. They need to just keep the swag they have. They all feel it, and for once, I am convinced instead of just hoping that this game against the Pats will be close, and I actually believe we can pull this out.
  20. This is so true. I can honestly say that I lost all respect for Brady since he returned from his injury. I know it's awful to wish for someone to get pounded, but I am praying that Dareus, Williams, Merriman, and heck even Kelsay put a whoppin on him. nice
  21. Honestly, 3 out of the last 4 games (2 of which Chan coached) were 1 possession games...the major problems in each of those games? turnovers/mistakes. If the Bills can keep the Patsies out of their heads and stay focused, that will in turn limit the turnovers. I don't really think that they need to change much of their game plan. Small tweaks are all it is going to take I believe. I seriously think this is going to be another shootout, and whoever has the ball last is going to win.
