You're proving my point. NFL analysts believe they are possibly the most taleted they've ever been. How do you suggest they are? The national media doesn't/won't say it - they're personnel moves lately have been laughable. So again, my personal opinion based on the back firing of all their personnel moves is, they are good but slipping from their dominant position.

Exactly, and it gets masked by the excellence of Brady. They've tried to continue the cute little moves they used to make and it's not working. They will always be good with Brady behind center, but I believe the days of being so far ahead of us we can't see them are over. As Brady's inevitable decline begins and the roster blunders continue, those roads meet soon and they become the Colts 2.0. QB is gone and then they realize how void of talent they really are.

For me the NFL Network and ESPN's coverage of the NFL is unwatchable. I almost never go to either of those channels for any quality coverage. I'm suprised two such successful brands can't find a way to be more interesting. Obviously they get viewers so they don't need me or fans of small market teams, but when did they get so lazy? I'm also not a big fan of how extreme the ex players turned commentators has gotten. Jerry Rice, seriously?

The Patriots are slipping. They have done unconventional things, signed players no one thought could still play, and have gotten more out of players than their previous teams. They've become infamous for their creativity. Just because that has worked in the past, doesn't mean it always does or will. I think they struggle this year. I think Shiancoe does very little for them. I also think Ocho and Moss have big years. Then I believe the questions of whether the Patriots really know what they are doing start to get asked.

I've said this in another thread. By all accounts Merriman is healthy. But that's walking around health, now he has to obviously show if the injury can withstand NFL punishment. None of us, including him, know that. But if the injury is in the past, we have one of the elite talents in all the NFL getting ready to play for us. Don't bore me with the Kelsay and Anderson talk. If Shawne's ready to go, he comes out when he waves over to the sideline.

There's no way for you to know that. Anderson at the height of his talent is a very good player, Merriman at his best is elite. If Merriman is healthy, it's not even a debate who is the starter. At this point with all the declarations of his health being in good standing, it's a giant reach for you to proclaim him as 2nd string.
