  1. No, his opportunities are going to be limited. That was last year. He won't get the same chance to prove himself this year, especially with the shortened off season. No way. Can't you hear it in Gailey's voice? This staff is utterly disappointed and disgusted with Maybin. He quickly went to the dog house last year and showing up at 228 lbs isn't getting him out.
  2. As soon as you wrote this " It took all but 5 days for reality to suck the hope out of the entire Bills fan base.", I stopped reading. Why dont' weak people like you just speak for yourselves? I'm feeling optimistic and hopefull. But I guess misery loves company. The piece should should be titled "Diary Of A Wimpy Fan".
  3. If you think Moats was moved inside to give Maybin opportunity you're acting young in your football knowledge. Maybin isn't going to be given anything by this coaching staff.
  4. I understood Barnett to be taking Poz's inside spot. Where did you hear he was to man the outside?
  5. I'd argue no team would draft a RT with the 9th pick overall. I think Bulaga went were he should have 23rd overall to a team that can play him at RT and see if he develops into a LT someday. Would you feel any better if we drafted Bulaga and he got abused at LT for a couple years and moved him to RT? Would it make our fan base feel better we spent the 9th overall pick to do that? Man you can't drag yourself through hindsight, this team is moving forward in a positive way. Do you (and I'm not trying to be a smart butt), not see that in Nix and Co?
  6. I largely agree with most of what you've written, except the premise. I'm sorry I just don't think the o line is that bad and I don't think they've failed to build it. They like Bell, Levitre and Wood are cornerstones, and I think Urbik is the front runner with Rinehart having an opportunity to unseat him, and there's a hole at RT that needs to obviously be filled within or a veteran brought it. But I think we are building the O-line. Let's not forget Nix had to build both lines when he got here. I think the D-line is about to get real good, real soon. If the only thing we have left is Right Tackle and o-line depth. I'd say cheers to Ralph for letting Buddy get it done.
  7. You want evidence from me to make my point, while you bring up a rookies production and mention a guy who hasn't played yet? Yawn.
  8. I know some people real close to Jerry and have met him a few times and we talked football. I think it was at the Wellington Pub if I'm not mistaken, but I could be wrong I've been out of the Buffalo area for 16 years. Anyway, the crazy thing is he believes these crazy articles himself. He's not just writing this stuff trying to get a reaction not caring if it's negative or positive. His conspiracy theory is getting harder and harder to believe. He actually wants me to believe that a 92 year old man is worried about 10 million dollars or so? Or that while he's clearly struggling to even get around these days, he musters up enough energy to tell Russ Brandon on a daily basis "don't you dare spend to that cap"? He actually wants me to believe that Nix and Gailey are doing their jobs to no avail and in vain because the owner will never let the team win? It's simple folks, the teams that spend the most money on FA's don't translate into championships. That is a fact. The Bills went after the top two RT's in Colon and Clabo, they decided to re-sign with their division winning super bowl contending teams. Thats a fact. The Bills have been confirmed to have made an offer to Poz and some of the other top LB's in this years FA class. That is also a fact. Stop believing these crazy articles. Even if we gave Clabo 10% more and offered him 5 years 27.5 million he probably would have stayed. Well how much more over value do you want to pay conspiracy guys, 20% - 30% - more? Nix has stood by his words plural. He is not going to overspend for FA's just to get them to come to Buffalo. Whether you agree with him or not he believes that leads to an eventual demise. He's going to build through the draft and sign free agents that don't mortgage the future or our ability to sign our own guys ie Stevie Johnson. He's in his second year at the helm and I for one believe he's doing all the right things. For those of you who still don't get it, we have to start over with him. Give this football man and the outstanding staff he's put together some time to build this team.
  9. Most definitely. No way he goes to the practice squad. I'd be shocked if he didn't make the team, and I believe he's going to play unlike most of the posters. I'd argue he doesn't have to do a "lot more" than blowing up the guy in front of him at the nose. Obviously you want to see if he can shed the block and still have an eye on the runner, take on the double team, or even get into the backfield. But if he only takes out the guy in front of him consistantly in his rookie year, he's gonna play based on that alone.
  10. Carrington in my opinion will be in the starting lineup if not week one soon after. I think most of us will agree Troup had a good enough showing in his rookie year to at least believe he's someone you feel good about coming off the bench. I think our D-line is a testiment to the job our FO is doing building this team. This year is going to be a "feeling out" of sorts for the Gailey and the Defensive Coaches. But I think Nix has given them a heck of a mix to play with. Who would mind any of these guys playing?: Dareus, Edwards, Carrington, Williams, and/or Troup. With Depth and possibly earning significant time: Troup, Johnson, Jasper, and Kelsay. I think we're on the verge of having a very strong front 3, and being more than capable of putting 4 of these men on the line in our 4-3 packages. In the next 2-3 years I firmly see this a position of strength for the Buffalo Bills. I don't expect immediate results as most of these players are still developing, Dareus being a rookie, and Jasper being a project. But if we can't find 2-3 core players out of this group to go with the proven Williams I'd be shocked at this point.
  11. But you thought we were fools to sign him to the extension.
  12. I suspect the coaching staff and FO will take his weight as a sign he's still not serious. He needed to gain at least 20 lbs in order to have a shot at making this team. I think this young man is done in Buffalo. I suspect he'll be in the first round of cuts.
  13. I want to make the team ... this much.
  14. Heap was the guy I thought we would go after. I never believed we'd be in the Miller and Boss sweepstakes, but that veteran second tier type TE. When Heap got release I said "There's the type I was thinking about". I'm a little miffed we aren't showing interest either. But as I've said for two off seasons, I trust Nix and Gailey to be going after the needs they believe are best for this team.
  15. I don't get why you think our FO is stupid? In their second season of running things, I think they are on top of doing the right things for this team. If we have the first pick, Luck is a lock to be on our team. What gives you the idea we wouldn't?
  16. Someone would invite him to the remainder of camp, then he'll get cut by that team.
  17. Arthur Blank had the best line I've ever heard in regards to free agency yesterday. He said "you have to be carefull, free agency can be like going to the grocery store when you're hungry. Sometimes that makes you overpay and buy things you don't need."
