Official MNF Thread: Raiders v Rams
Jauronimo replied to Jauronimo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't recall that. I remember a lot of people didn't think he was worth what the Rams paid him. I was pretty surprised at the size of the contract he got but hes earned it the past few years. -

Not everyone can win the Trent Murphy and Nate Orchard sweepstakes. Sucks to suck, Oaktown! -

I think its pretty appropriate for the NFL owner that drives a minivan, still owns a flip phone, and cuts his own hair. -

Theres a conference at second base. Pretty unusual stuff. -

Carr winds up from the mound and tries to catch the base runner napping. Pretty sure that was a balk. Looks like the Rams have moved the outfield in. Wade called in the shift. -

If I'm an NFL head coach and I have Beast Mode in the backfield, I hurry up to the goal line, take a 3 step drop and throw to the rub route in heavy traffic, sneaky Pete Carroll style. Everyone will be expecting us to try and pound it in. -

I'm surprised anyone would even dare run on such a swaggy defense. -
This is the official MNF thread for football geniuses, tough guys, and advanced stats. Lets get weird. Who will be tonight's Gruden Grinding Ground Gruden?? We are 3 minutes into this game and I'm already suffering "Here's a guy..." withdrawal now that Chucky is on the sideline and not in the booth.

The Bills still aren't paying a QB a big contract due to the rookie wage scale, there is less depth than before, and we don't have starting caliber players. This notion that Beane inherited cap hell and had NO other choice but to blow the whole thing up simply is not true. You do realize that we will need to field a roster at some point and Beane will have to pay some star players, right? Hopefully they'll be star talent and not just some guys named Star.

At the very least they should shout "Blitz" a few seconds before they rush so McD and Castillo can diagnose what went wrong during film study.
-
And spent it on Coleman, Vontae and a few guys selling Hyundais.

Its a controversial opening in tournament Chess where you replace all your rooks, bishops, and knights with pawns and save your queen for the next match.
-
Tyrod restructured a short term deal paying him average starter money and Watkins was on his rookie deal. Flat out wrong. Watching this offensive line, its hard to say a real NFL tackle was "expendable". Why is Clay still here if Beanius is crushing it?
-
Look at what Sashi Brown did a few years ago. The Browns had 14 picks in the draft. 1-31.
-
And now we have smaller contracts for less talented yet still underperforming players. Mostly short term deals. So next year we can plug 20 open roster spots in free agency AND improve at skill positions. And all without over paying!! Just need to get out from under Shady, Hughes, and Clay's contracts and we'll be ready to compete for a Big 12 title in 2019.

Getting terrible and accumulating picks is the easy part. Almost all of those draft resources netted from the trade activity you described was invested in 2 players in April. We have 6 draft picks next year. But at least we have $91MM to fill all the holes they created with next year's Bodines, Phil Gaines, Murphy, Star and Kerley.

Forget Kelly-Marino, this Darnold - Peterman rivalry is going to be a classic!! Fasten your seatbelts.

Either McD can't evaluate QB talent or....
Jauronimo replied to CoachT's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McD undermined the team and is essentially forfeiting games just in case Allen stinks up the place? Did he also blow up the OL and WRs to make sure Peterman would fail? -
Play the guy with a pulse.

I believe yesterday was a bit of a fluke
Jauronimo replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think yesterday's performance is very much repeatable. This Oline looked exactly like they did in preseason action against starters. The offense was just as terrible against a starting defense and our defense had no answers. Much like, wait for it.....preseason when playing against first stringers. Everyone was happy to see the big contracts go and "Process" guys coming in. We filled holes with guys who just aren't as good as the players they replaced. -
Who Is the Worst Starting QB in Bills History (NFL)?
Jauronimo replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And I had just tried to post my inspired defense of Jeff Tuelegittosit -
Strong parallels to the 2007 Bills and 2013 Browns.

How does it stack up to the "emotional romanticizing" of current players, coaches, and front office personnel? Is it any less ridiculous? Here are legit takes from the past 2 weeks: -Peterman could be our Brady -Peterman = Brees -McDermott and Beane are building the 89' Cowboys Oh, and does this concept apply to romanticizing former members of the Buffalo News?
