Levitre in danger of being benched
QCity replied to TallskiWallski83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously. We didn't pay the 14th ranked guard in the league $48M and it people acted like we lost a Hall of Famer. I would laugh, but our replacement plan has been a comedy of errors. -
Here are 5 Vines from the last game that highlight his accuracy issues. In each clip the OL holds up nicely and gives him time to throw. He stands tall in the pocket, makes the correct reads, finds the open man, and then....then....he just misfires. His inconsistent play didn't just start last week either. I can excuse a young QB for not picking up a blitz, for not seeing an open receiver, or for not reading a coverage correctly. But when you do all the aforementioned correctly and simply can't throw a football accurately, well I'm just not sure that's an easily correctable part of a QB's skill set. https://vine.co/u/1126081375733444608

Will Pegula Cough Up the Big Bucks for a Big Name HC?
QCity replied to patfitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Read this in John Madden's voice - "The Buffalo Bills don't need a big-name football coach. The Buffalo Bills need a good football coach". -
The play that sticks out is at 10:10 in the 4th -- the deep middle to Woods. If he hits that pass, there's a good chance Woods takes it to the house. He had a perfectly clean pocket, plenty of time, and loads of room to step into the throw. He could have waited longer for Woods to come open, but he inexplicably rushed the throw and wasn't even close to hitting his receiver. That's a game changer right there, and another example of a throw that he has to make.

I will give props to Steve Beuerlein for not giving EJ the kid-gloves treatment. There was a passing play at 9:14 in the 2nd quarter where EJ had a clean pocket and plenty of time to throw, and he just threw a horrific pass that clunked on the ground well short of Watkins. Tasker tried to blame it on the wind. Beuerlein immediately pointed out that EJ just misfired on that throw, that the wind was now at our backs, and that it was a ball that has to be completed. Tasker was left stammering in the background "uh.. um.. well.. " The A22 for this game is going to be very interesting.

The Season is hardly over...but....

I'm racist against quarterbacks who can't throw a football. Is bashing Trent Edwards a hate crime nowadays? -

Official 2nd half thread Bolts at Bills

EJ; "I think my accuracy is just fine". -
What's the over/under on hearing "it's only his 13th game" on the forums this week? I'll say 100 and take the over.

Week 3 predictions: Chargers @ Bills
QCity replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
West coast team playing an early game on the east coast + coming off a high from beating the Super Bowl champs last week + a rain forecast that favors our run game = Bills 19 Chargers 14 -
This country has turned into a bunch of wimps.

The segment on the Bills begins just before the 16 min mark. They didn't predict us to be the worst team at the beginning of the year, but one of the worst with 5 or 6 wins. They go on to say they based that prediction on the loss of Byrd/Pettine/Alonso.

I also believe the Bills' coaches and players have faith in him to execute anything that's designed in a particular week. I just don't think they will design a gameplan that has him throwing more than 30 times - nor should they with the way the team is built. Of course, I mentioned that in my initial post.
-
Did he have more than 30 attempts vs the Jets? No, he did not. Now if you are talking about the 1st Jets game, or the Pit game, or the Tampa game with 4 INTs, then yeah - that's what I meant. EJ throwing the ball is not what we want.
-
I've been skeptical of EJ since his FSU days, and these last 2 games have done little to diminish that skepticism. I'm thrilled we're 2-0 with a home game next, plus EJ does look more fluid and comfortable running the read option and he's not turning the ball over. If we can limit him to 20-25 attempts we probably have a decent chance to win against anyone. But if he has to put the ball up more than 30 times, it's going to get ugly.

I love beautiful women too Donald, but what's this have to do with the Jills?

Adrian Peterson indicted in child injury case
QCity replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Vikings announced they have deactivated RB Adrian Peterson -
BadLands, it's a great story, but it reads like a Hollywood script after it's 10th iteration. I heard of a $400M penalty for moving in 2020, but not $800M. This wasn't a story of Ralph vs. the NFL -- the majority of league owners did not want us to relocate. Ralph was always against relocation. He signed a lease that was against relocation. That's it. He didn't plan on dying and "hoodwinking" 31 other owners

How good does that Sheppard for Hughes trade look now
QCity replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A good trade because we got something for essentially nothing. But we didn't get 2 seasons of production out of him yet... -
Whaley has made strong case to stay on as GM
QCity replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's not my point. Whaley certainly had input regarding the QB position since the day he arrived, to think otherwise is naive. You don't make someone your right-hand man and then lock them in a closet when making decisions at QB. -
What the "experts" are saying this week re the Bills/Fins
QCity replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd agree with this 100%. I don't want to downplay a great road victory on a fantastic week for the franchise, but without a +2 turnover differential we probably don't come out of there with a win.
