  1. It would be pretty difficult. The Patriots are fighting tooth and nail to block payment of Hernandez's remaining signing bonus, and that's a much more severe case. The NFLPA is vehemently against these attempts - they don't want to start a precedent of teams suing to recoup "guaranteed" money. This issue I have is not the amount, but the timing of the deal. Looking back, there was no immediate need to resign him at the end of December. His place on the field became an immediate question mark as soon as Pettine left, and if Whaley had waited until the NFL season ended, he could have better assessed the situation. Maybe that's hindsight though, but I don't think there was that much urgency to sign a situational lineman. Look for him to sign with the Jets/Browns/Saints on a 1yr prove-it deal after this arrest.
  2. Fair enough. But you chose to quote me and that rant sounded silly. My original point was if you want to pick an example of a QB that matured and developed over time, Bradford is a bad example. He was a slightly above-avg QB the first time he stepped onto the field, and he is still pretty much that same QB today. There has been little improvement in his 4 years. We need EJ to take a much, much bigger leap. And he's going to get this season to make it - I'm still highly skeptical but I also know he's the starter this year.
  3. So according to you, we have to give EJ a minimum of 5 years, also we have to build him an offensive line equivalent to the Washington Redskins "Hogs" of the 80's. Until we do that, we'll just never know, right??? See, I can play the hyperbole and strawman argument game too. That's how utterly ridiculous you sound.
  4. So an advocate of waiting for QB's to develop is pointing to Sam Bradford as an example? That is pretty funny.
  5. I thought you were going to end that story by saying you wound up getting drunk in a bar and completely missed the game. I was jealous for a minute.
  6. Going to be very interesting to see who they go after.
  7. I thought the renovation was pretty nice. I hope they decide to take the ads off the scoreboards and use the full screen size for replays. I never really had a problem with the old gates and I didn't go to the store so it looked mostly like a new paint job to me. It's exactly what I expected - a Band-aid to get us through the next 7/10 years. If you were expecting anything more, you were mislead.
  8. I thought Corbin Bryant played very well starting in place of Kyle.
  9. This is why Byrd wanted out of town so bad.
  10. He was arrested for stealing $3.1M from this organization.
  11. Will not play vs. Tampa Bay: 14 WR Watkins, 30 CB Butler, 36 S Meeks, 39 CB Felder, 74 G Williams, 82 TE Moeaki, 90 DT Branch, 95 DT Williams.
  12. You mean my parents lied to me when they said I was the best child in the world?
  13. Here ya go: Teams That Could Shock Us by Winning the 2015 Super Bowl We really need to make one big thread for all these theads. We can call it "The OMG I can't believe they didn't pick us to win the division" thread.
  14. What if we bring in Brad Smith and install a Wildcat?
  15. Oh, was Manziel playing last night?
  16. Kissing Bridge had 5 trails open in November last year and Holiday Valley had over 12 open at the same time. However in the previous 2 seasons (2011 and 2012) neither were open until late December. So the answer is - it still depends on Mother Nature.
  17. Now we're talkin'! Searcy scares me as a starter.
  18. He should donate $500 every time he checks down or dumps the ball off to a RB. We could have cancer cured before the bye week. /ducksandruns
  19. I don't want to scare anyone, and I know this may sound unthinkable, but there is the possibility that Legursky is actually a better player than Chris Williams. He would never start over Williams based on what we just paid for him, but I wouldn't be surprised if their difference in play is negligible.
  20. I think you are concussed or something.
  21. OverTheCap.com is a pretty good site. And yeah, most of it is just Stevie and Fitz, and they fall off after this season.
  22. And that's exactly what his job is. He's done well over the years selling tickets for a product that constantly loses more than it wins.
  23. I pretty much agree and nothing is too surprising. I would flop Sylvester with Powell though.
  24. I don't care for it. I don't like any rules that put more emphasis on special teams though.
