  1. Why not? He is one of three or for TE's in the arguement for best TE of all time. Amen brother. You can make an arguement that Reed, Polian, Tasker, and Hull should be in the HOF instead of Levy.
  2. Lynn Swann His career stats are a joke. 336 receptions for only 5462 yrds. 51 TD is impressive as are the 4 SB's, yet he only made the Pro Bowl three times Stallworth and Monk are borderline HOF's as well. I think Andre Reed should be in if they let these guys in even given the greater frequency of passing in Reed's era.
  3. If the Bills had a championsip level defense say circa mid 2000's then Kolb could be a final piece to the puzzle. There are far too many holes on this team to give up draft picks for any player. They should be trading down in every round to pick up more picks this and next year.
  4. The only part of this thread that makes any sense is Polian not choosing the right coach. It was Marv who was outcoached by three future HOF coaches. While he may have let his coordinators run the show he should have forced them to change the game plan especially against the Giants. But I know we can't blame Marv for anything. Does that mean whomever the Eagles drafted instead would have died in a car accident to keep the universe in balance?
  5. None of that matters. It is all about the money. Said it once; will say it again... Bills should make him highest paid interior lineman in the league first night of FA. Move him to RG with Wood at C. This allows the FO to spend the majority of the draft on DL and LB's with a QB and TE(unless addressed in FA) thrown in the mix.
  6. It is the best thing to do in every draft virtually every chance you get. See the Patriots.
  7. FA/trades 1. Day 1 at midnight RW better be wrapped up in a sweater with his walker outside Logan Mankins house making him the highest paid interior lineman in the league 2. Take a shot at stealing David Harris from the Jets 2a. If can't get Harris bring back Poz. 3. Take a shot at Zach Miller or Marcedes Lewis 4. See if they can get Brandon Jacobs(Bills need a bruiser 3rd and 1 back) on the cheap - #7 draft pick or a #6 in 2012 assuming he isn't just cut by NYG 5. Resign Florence and Wilson but don't overpay for either Draft 1. Trade down(I know need willing partner) 2. Bowers/Fairley 3. Hope Locker falls to second round 3. Then take a center, TE, ILB,OLB in no particular order Cuts Whitner, Stupar, Maybin, some of those RT's will need to go, Surprise cut(you know there always is one or more and I'm not even including Maybin) - Brian Moorman -- 24th in avg. yds, 23rd in net yrds, 28th in punts inside the 20, 9th worst in touchbacks.
  8. You know the NFL existed before 1980??? and there were these guys named bart starr, forrest gregg (he played before he coached), don hutson(in the same sentence as Jerry Rice as greatest WR of all time), jim ringo, hornung, willie davis, nitshcke.... no to mention some guy named lombardi that played/coached in green bay before Reggie and Farve got there You forgot the one the Bills should go after first Logan Mankins
  9. Right because there is no way Johnson could lead the Bills to the winning FG drive... Or maybe if Flutie had started, Johnson would have been relegated to ST's and his speed would have prevented the kick return.
  10. One possibility could be for TO signing with the Bengals. He was not traded or released(not sure if that matters). He had signed a one year contract with the Bills. The position of the compensatory pick is based on the dollar amount of the contract the player signs. Any players that the Bills signed in FA would count against them. Also I don't know if TO's age and number of years in the league matters.
  11. What consensus are you talking about? Both were highly thought of so much that both were invitd to NYC for the draft. No one complained about Williams at the time. BTW why is it McKinnie is a good pick with no proBowls attended(got booted out of the lone controversial ProBowl selection he had) but Evans is a bad pick??? You mean the future where there is a lockout next year, RW dies soon, and 2010 was the last NFL football to be played in Buffalo...
  12. Seriously? I won't repeat the names but needless to say Sanchez is the worst of the rest and he looked great today. That throw to Holmes in the endzone was nothing short of spectacular. Can anyone honestly say Fitz is as good as any of the playoff QB's except Flacco(who right now is being knifed by Ray Lewis in a limo)? Not saying it needs to be in the first round but another QB needs to be taken this year. Locker in the second???
  13. Well that straegy has never worked in a SuperBowl before so I guess the Jets are screwed....
  14. Anyone else see a pettern here??? Most if not every playoff team has a quality pass cathcing TE. Green Bay may be the only excpetion but only due to the injury of Jermichael Finely. Either in FA or the draft this position has to be addressed. My hunch is that Gailey would use TE's as recievers if he had anyone better than Lee Evans' ankle killer Stupar to throw to.
  15. 1. Trade down with someone who wants Newton or one of the stud CB's 2. Fairley 3. Bowers 4. Dareus
  16. Along with Mike Mularkey, Willis McGahee, Jason Peters, Michael Oher, Hatoli Ngata, Jay Cutler, Jim Leonhard(if healthy), Clay Mathews Jr..... They were all once Bills or should have been if not for the clowns at OBD. Thanks again Marv. No talent with or without character gets you 4-12.
  17. Maybe it has something to do with the three home AFC championships and one Superbowl he lost? When a second year coach can do what he did why pay the money? Cowher didn't build the Steelers nor did he coach their defense. He isn't worth the money. When Raheem Morris can almost get one of the youngest teams in the NFL with a second year QB to the playoffs why pay $10 mil a season? For the record if I was San Fran I would have hired Gruden instead of Harbaugh. BTW what candidate did San Fran interview to satisfy the Rooney rule? Did firing a black HC count?
  18. The Bills once made Derick Dockery the highest paid guard in NFL so don't discount them paying for Mankins. The only guy on this list I want and think can happen is Mankins. He would allow Wood to move to center and instantly make the RT's we have better. Would I love Ngata. Sure but he will be franchised. I don't beleive Maknins can be franchised again next year.
  19. Doesn't it give eveyone pause to see that Locker is now being talked about as not even a tird round pick. he would have been in the discussion as first overall with Bradford had he come out last year. Brohm may have gone first overall and fell to the second round and probably out of the NFL. Is it hard to believe that Luck may be well lucky to be in a good system at Stanford against weak Pac10 defenses? I know everyone thinks the Bills need to take a shot at getting the franchise QB. But... KC made the playoffs drafting defense and by signing a FA QB who didn't even play in college. The Jets are SB contenders with arguably the second worst QB in the playoffs. I hope Denver passes on Peterson, we trade out of 3 to some team that wants him, pick up an extra second, and then go DE, LB, DT, followed by Locker in the top of the third round. Follow that up with a Center, one or two TE's(no slow white duses from the Big 12 please), and a couple more LB's. Of course who knows maybe the Bills make a big splash in early off-season...Maybe they switch back to the 4-3 and trade for Haynesworth(a huge chunk of his crazy salary has already been paid by the Redskins) to rotate with Williams and Troup. Carrington and Edwards can play DE along with a rookie.
  20. His wine, Doubleback '08 - Washington state Cabernet, was just named in Wine Spectator's top 100. This is about a billion times more impressive than skiwear. I've met him twice and he is a pretty bright guy.
  21. This post is half correct. After Luck, Peterson may be the best player in the draft. If Denver passes on Peterson there may be teams like Texans at 11 who would be willing to move up to #3 for him. This would be a great chance to move down, still get a very good front 7 defender, perhaps pick up a second this year for a TE or QB(Locker in the early second?) along with another front seven defender, or better yet another first rounder for 2012.
  22. Well if he didn't want to be in Buffalo he wouldn't have signed. At least Merriman had a shadow. Poz is slow and can't shed blockers. Even without a salary cap we all know RW has a limited budget to sign FA's. That budget should not be used for Poz or Whitner. Florence YES. The others can all walk.
