Hiring and promoting family members is by definition nepotism. But let's all give Mary Owen the benefit of the doubt and assume that she is qualified and deserved the promotion. It is not like she just walked in unqualified and got the job. She has been there almost 15 years and no one has said a negative word about her before, because if they had it would have been all over this board.

It is okay to have a low payroll if your money is spent wisely. We spent $104M for very marginal talent, Jets and NE spent more but have much more talent per dollar than we do. We do not have the talent that even commands $100M per year. We do not have a top five player at any position in the AFC let alone the league with the possible exception of Kyle Williams. KW is a key part of the run defense that gives up 200 yds a game so my enthusiasm for him is quite tempered. Anyone that is mediocre on this unit looks like a superstar in comparison to the rest. Our offense has 4 #1 picks, the two recent OL #1 picks are still on their rookie contracts so their annual number is very low. The #9 pick overall can't break into the starting lineup while a rookie FA RB picked up off the street looked just as good. Our other #1 pick on offense (Evans) makes me ill. An absolutely pathetic aggregation of players. Our defense's best player is a 5th round pick, the capabilities of our secondary is unknown because the 7 in front of them just suck. The backfield has two number one picks who would not start on any other team in the AFC East but could conceivably at least make their squads as back-ups. Stroud, Johnson, Edwards, McCargo, and all of the linebackers do not even make the other teams in the AFC East. Troup gets a pass because he is a rookie whose jury is out. Spend a lot more money is not always the answer but when you spend frugally, spend wisely.

Fairly or Dareus in the first. Best G or T or ILB available in the second. Kaepernick in the third.

I agree that they should have started Flutie and that we would have won handily but the reality is Rob Johnson actually won that game for us. The idiotic decision to kick it short and not cover the whole field was lame.

I bet that only one of all of these players actual make our roster. Seems with every draft none of the pre draft players ever make our roster.

Ralph was 94 when he did that in the 80's now at 120 he doesn't have a lot left in the tank.

All i am saying is just because our politicians and radio mouths tell you something, it doesn't mean it is true, and until you actually go abroad and see what other countries have to offer you and how their people live you should not make universal statements that you know little about. I have been to about 20 countries with about a half dozen with more freedoms, healthier life styles and better life experiences than ours. And yes given the chance I would prefer to live in some of them rather than here. Heck the country 20 minutes from RWS has more freedoms than we do.

I would add McGee, Evans and Parrish to your list of overpaid (Evans), underperforming (Evans, Parrish) or injury prone (Parrish & McGee) and they all have little or no future value. McGee is on the downside of a good career but now has trouble staying on the field, Evans quit three years ago and Parrish almost got started this year (his 5th) but we now have a new smurf in Spiller that can under produce just as easily. Two undersized players on offense is one two many.

DT was a very, very good player who made things happen, He wasn't just there when everything else was clicking. Give credit where credit is due. We haven't had the likes of Darryl in a long long rime. He was like Takeo is his prime. And Takeo's prime was before he became a Bill.

I now like VY. He says to Darryl, "my grandma loved u". That takes balls and a great sense of humor. Also he was not speaking highly of his grandmother as Darryl was without a doubt second in looks to Travis Henry and that is not a good thing. Darryl was my favorite player tho one helluva player at that and the type we need again.

Look, we sucked this year and will suck again next year. You should be used to it by now because we have sucked for ten tears. It doesn't matter if we have a difficult or easy schedule this team sucks. It is far better to have a difficult schedule and have a bad record and draft higher than to have an easy schedule and draft later in the first round. We are no better or worse than Seattle but we will never get to the top with 7-9 or 6-10 records.
