  1. There's not much to adapt to. When you can't throw more than 15 yards, the only solution is a new QB. The fact we won six games with that nonsense, and the worst DC in the history of DCs, is a testament to Gailey. Not that I'm not happy he's gone. But he'll make a good OC somewhere.
  2. I guess what I should have said is that he appears to be injury prone due to his size and running style, and not an every down back. That is no knock on him. He will get 1,000 yards even with 50 percent carries. He's that good.
  3. We were competitive on offense, and drove the ball, and confused defenses. CJ had damn good stats the past two years. I wouldn't call him a decoy in any way shape or form. Underused, yes. Our offensive stats, after Ds realized we had a noodle armed QB, and a horizontal offensive scheme, were still good.
  4. It's fandom nature to say the other guy stunk. We said the same thing about Gailey when he replaced the other guy. (Well, Skeletor DID stink). Gailey was actually a masterful game planner on offense. What he did with minimal talent was nothing short of outstanding. Under him, our offense had rhythm and drove the ball despite having a bottom tiered QB who couldn't throw deep and a bevy of practice squad caliber receivers playing No. 2, 3 and 4 positions. This board said that over and over and over -- and over -- his first two years here (3rd not so much). I'm expecting many here to forget that. Where Gailey failed, consistently, was his inability to adapt during games (hence why NE beat us three times in the second half after we were up) and his wretched pick of Wannstache, and his inattentiveness to the D. He also, as many here have noted, underused Spiller, but I am guessing not by too much given his size and penchant for injuries. And while he generally was able to crush bad teams, he was not able to beat top caliber teams. There is a reason why he was fired from Ga Tech--getting shut out by Georgia every single year. Marrone, so far, hasn't showed enough to differentiate himself. He has like a .500 record at his previous gig, and so far is .500 here. I'm reserving judgment on Marrone, but am thrilled with Pettine. The transformation on D has been magic. I am, however, worried about Hackett's inexperience. So far our offense, despite having an exciting franchise player at QB, has completely lacked rhythm and an ability to drive consistently. Where we seem so far to excel at is the clutch drives, which were nonexistent under Gailey. All in all, it appears our coaching at HC is better and there is no doubt whatsoever that our new DC is miles ahead of the other guy. But to imply that Gailey wasn't strategic or a good game planner is off base IMO.
  5. All I can say is I dropped the Pittsburgh D for Buffalo's in my fantasy league! Never have had a Buffalo D other than for a bye week. Nice to have a respectable D for a change. I predict Geno will have a rough day. Our win will depend on how well Manuel plays against Rex' trickery and whether our O line can make holes. Could be a slog-fest.
  6. Some of these are quite good. The Dolphins logo is quite better than the hotel thing they currently have. Browns logo, great. The Bengals look like a larvae though.
  7. Decent stats. But the real question is whether we're "fitting it up" and "living and dying by our Front 4". That's what I really want to know. Maybe we can pick Wanny's brain on how to improve our run D. Anyone have his number down in Tampa Bay?
  8. I was at McFadden's two years ago when we beat Oakland. So fun.
  9. Let em wear what they want. They're athletes, not execs.
  10. Thanks. One poster said Charlotte is Buffalo's "doppelganger." So true. Charlotte looked like Buffalo out there. You lost because of conservative offensive play-calling. Your OC/HC needs to let Cam do what he does. But hey, this D looks legit. What a difference b/t this scheme and last year's.
  11. As for the question, that seems pretty lame to me. Reminds me of when Ralphie got the decoder ring and was told to drink more Ovaltine. As for BarkLessWagMore's avatar, as well as the pictures I've seen of Sanchez, is he wearing a girl's hair band? WTF?
  12. I've always suspected Canadians were made.
  13. Throwup unis. Worst unis in the NFL. Utterly awful. The colors even clashed, and the stripes were completely different ... wtf?!. Dark times, times that should never be revisited. When I think of those, I think Dick Juaron, Trent Edwards, JP Losman, Kelly Holcomb, and utter hopelessness.
  14. Happy pill time.
  15. The Pats. Irrelevant. New coaching staff, new QB, new schemes. What's the Bills record against the Pats in the 90s? Logic, man, logic. Fred got over 100 (5.5 yards per carry to boot), their RB got over 100. Wallow in this silliness if you want.
  16. The Patriots were also without Wes Welker, Ty Law, Andre Trippett and Tedy Bruschi. Good grief, people. Logic.
  17. The Pats got zero sacks, and very few hurries. Brady was under near constant pressure. Did you even watch the same game? Seriously. This defense is light years ahead of last year's in terms of penetration.
  18. The Pats' receivers dropped MANY balls. SJ is an asset. There are many reasons why the Bills lost. If you want to throw spears at him, so be it.
  19. Last of three "official" sentiment polls until midseason. The other polls can be found here and here. Mods: If we could lock these threads Sunday Sept. 15 at Noon (one week from now), that would be great. This one is on your overall sentiment for the 2013 season. We'll address this again midseason. Cheerio.
  20. Mods--Think it would be nice to have more questions here. We can only ask three.
  21. For the other poll, go to http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/161239-bills-2013-official-sentiment-poll-draftees/
  22. For those unsure what this is, check out this thread. And here is the first sentiment poll. This one is on our first three draftees. Off we go... *Mods--is it possible to change this so we can add two more questions? We're limited to only three, and I wanted an overall sentiment of the entire draft on here as well as one on Goodwin.
  23. First off, my apologies for not doing this right after the draft like I said I would. What is an "official sentiment" poll? Many of us kind of agreed that a centralized thread on our feelings on big issues was a good idea. To recap, I think it will be fun, and informative, to compare reality with our past opinions on just a few threads, as opposed to having to search through a gazillion. We should only have a limited number yearly -- with the same tags (2013 Bills sentiment, 2014 Bills sentiment, etc). That way, they will be easier to find and they will become a better metric for measuring feelings and analyzing fandom. The first one is on the coaches and management. I'll put up another on our draftees. In the near future, I'll put up another on the overall state of the Bills. Will likely have another set mid-season and at the end then after the draft. That's about five or six per season. If you think this is lame, no need to participate. I just think it's a cool idea to have a central place to examine these kinds of things. We will have to close this thread soon, so don't hesitate on voting. On the third question, you should have two answers. Off we go...
