How bad is it for Lesile Frazier?
Livinginthepast replied to Marvlevydraftdaygenius's topic in The Stadium Wall
Fart? I would say it was more like a shart. A fart you might be able escape unscathed from responsibility but that 13 seconds debacle was a shart for sure. Much more visible and a nasty situation hard to escape! -
Can't wait for Frazier to leave

The Raptors fired Dwayne Casey as head coach the same season as he got Coach of the year. Happens elsewhere but perhaps not in the conservative bone head NFL. The funny thing is that firing him was the beginning of their championship run. -
Western NY has so many great pizza places. Even the mediocre ma and pa restaurant ones are better than some of the chains. My absolute favorite is the Hacienda in the Falls. OMG its awesome!

Dan Snyder will not survive the 2022 season

Dont you mean a "commander" performance? 😆 -
Interesting article. Some decent names on that list as well as some people who were in the never was category. A lot of people seem to think that Brady would have been an obvious early round pic but that simply wasnt the scouting on him at all. Add to this that a lot of NFL GMs even today are inept at their jobs (and much worse back then) and you have an explanation of why Brady gets to the 6th round. Its not much of a stretch that he might not have been drafted at all. Brady's best quality above all else was his quick thinking and understanding of the game that was near impossible to assess accurately back then or now.

Brian Flores suing NFL, NY Giants, Dolphins, Broncos.
Livinginthepast replied to BillsFan4's topic in The Stadium Wall
My point is that this is a no win situation either way for Flores. The NFL proved with Colin Kapernick that they can erase you if they want. Doesnt matter if you are right or wrong. -

Sad part is that even if Flores is RIGHT, his career is over. The good ole boys in the NFL wont tolerate any of this "fairness" stuff. That's just for show ! -
Why does Bill Simmons think the Cincy squib has anything to do with Buffalo? or a FU to Buffalo? TBH I thought at the time it was strange for them to do it but I guess the strategy was to avoid a big return and stop the bleeding. It seemed to work for that. The only thing I noted at the time in the game thread is that they squibed it to the 4 yard line with 1:05 left and managed to kill 4 seconds off the clock. KC started on their 19. So the only relevance to Buffalo is comparing what happened there to the bone headed decision by the Bills to kick it through the endzone with 13 seconds left. Had the Bills done anything similar KC gets it on the 19 with 9 seconds left or worse their return man screws up as he tries to field the bouncing ball and fumbles or burns even more time on the clock. Kicking it through the endzone and trusting your exhausted D who had just been turbo shredded by the Chiefs on the previous drive with soft prevent defense strategy , will go down as one of the dumbest decisions in NFL playoff coaching history!

So it's the Washington Commanders now?
Livinginthepast replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm confused about the photo you attached. Were you thinking Beavers for the team name? -
He reminds me a lot of McCauley Caulkin!
-
You would think, but the Bengals are on a roll. Both teams are gaffe prone though. I think its a toss up.
-
And the 49ers complete the collapse. Pathetic

SF is choking this game away.

Wow brutal helmet to helmet hit on the punt would have put the Rams in huge hole. Instead they are driving for the win!

There have been at least 3 plays so far in these 2 games where I have said "i could have caught that" . That play by Tartt was easily the worst of the bunch!

The Bengals D in this game and defensive coaches did basically everything that we didnt do last week: 1. They sacked Mahomes 2.They double covered Hill and Kelce on many plays, shutting them down 3. They tackled Hill and Kelce before they could get going. (the play before the half was superb on Hill). 4. They held the Chiefs in the red zone to no points before the half to save the game. 5. They held the Chiefs in the highest pressure situation possible within the redzone at the end to a FG to stay alive 6. They didn't crumble in OT and intercepted Mahomes. 7. Played gutsy defense and didn't quit at 21-3 They were the difference in this game. As much as I am happy for them. It really sickened me with old green eyed jealousy that we failed to do most of those things in the game. Its just insane to me with 13 seconds to kill, our coaches and players completely sht the bed. Then given a chance to redeem themselves in OT and save the season, the coaches just froze and our D just lay down butt in the air.

Too much time for Mahomes to come back. After all he only needs 13 seconds!
-
Well imagine that! And the bumbling oafs on our D line managed to whiff on him within a yard on probably 5 occasions in that game last Sunday. Give the Bengals Dline some props, they have actually sacked Mahomes and not be suckered by his Salsa moves!
-
The Bengals INT was the huge play that we didnt get from our D last week!

3 plays of mild interest at the end of the 1st half in this game for me compared to the Bills game. 1) Cinci squibed it to the 10 yard line with 1 min left in the half. I counted the seconds and it was I think 3 seconds that ran off the clock. The Chiefs started the possession from the 20. So had we done that successfully vs KC a similar start may have occurred with 10 seconds left for Mahomes 2) Down in the end zone, the Cinci player successfully held Hill, for an incompletion but got a penalty. Once again 4 seconds was killed off the clock. Once again why on earth did we not do this within 13 secs on that first or 2nd down? 3) On the last play of the half the chiefs double tackle hill within a couple of yards of getting the pass and .......actually tackle him!! Unbelievable!
-
If it is from the 15 yard line normally, thats a 32 yard kick (10 for the endzone and 7 yards back from the line). Move it 15 yards back and that makes it a 47 yard PAT!! That is huge and the KC kicker had already missed a PAT in the game from the 15!! Not a gimme at all!. That being said McD may have made the call and had tacked to the kickoff
-
This is an excellent point and yet another possible twist in this game on the lack of call. I appreciated that the refs took a step back in this game and didnt call the usual BS or ticky tack calls for EVERYTHING. But this was textbook taunting and definitely should have been called as it was ALL season. If KC misses the subsequent extra point then the Bills score their TD then all of a sudden its a 4 pt lead, we kick it deep through the endzone and play the same defense that we did (now actually appropriate to the situation) and its game over. So many what ifs in this game!
-
Hills gesture is more like a "oh know you dont" to Milano. He knows how fast he is and Milano has no chance despite a decent angle. It was a good non call. Doesnt excuse that call on Marsh of the Bears back in November, which is the stupidest call of all time in my opinion.

If this week isn't painful enough, 31 years ago today....
Livinginthepast replied to gomper's topic in The Stadium Wall
Like Boomer and Tom Jackson used to say on Primetime, KNOCK IT DOWN!!! Time does heal all wounds but SB 25 left a nasty scar. If they had won any of the 3 SBs following or any SB after that it would have been cleansed but they failed.
