It was called a catch on the field which normally results in the burden of proof being on the replay to overturn it. This might have happened if the Replay crew in NYC had figured that both of his feet didnt touch but the replays I saw might have made that difficult. In any case, even if the call was overturned, it would have taken the replay crew a couple of minutes to decide (giving the Offense some time to regroup) and without that dubious holding call it still would have been 2nd and 10. The ticky tack penalty blows that all up.

This play should have been called an INT first by the officials and the Jets should have been the ones challenging to show simultaneous possession. Only in the NFL could you have the biggest money TV coverage with the most angles and still not have an angle. One question though, was this before or after the sky cam fell out of the sky?

Orton did have some moments of quality throughout his stint here and at least made winning possible unlike EJ who was painful to watch. But his heart was never really in it being here. Still it was so close to the drought ending if not for that Raiders game.

Davis either needs to make the catch or slow down and let the Db run into him to make it obvious PI . Unfortunately he does neither. A savvy veteran player needs to do one or the other. Diggs was underthrown on that deep pass but Josh hits Davis almost perfectly on that last play right after getting his elbow wrenched. Considering how bad a game Josh had, that throw was remarkable. Both this play and the Dawkins "hold" are broken down nicely on the link below. The web site seems think it was a legit hold but I disagree Its looks like Dawkins pushes over the Jets player and lands on top of him. In addition that's the tv angle, I'm not sure how in real time the official who calls that penalty actually saw it at all or how he would think that looked like a hold. Damn that sucks for him! He did really well in Philly and he had a good start with Indy but it just became untenable this year. Always have a soft spot for Frank and what he did while he was here! I would definitely take him for an OC!
