USFL-XFL merge; become UFL w/USFL and XFL divisions
Livinginthepast replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
The original USFL in the 80's was actually a viable league but anything since has been an utter joke. -
The Chubb injury was shades of Willis McGahee's at Miami. Awful to see.

Q Williams fined 2x for unnecessary roughness.
Livinginthepast replied to sunshynman's topic in The Stadium Wall
Injuring a player possibly permanently is less of a fine. But that trash talk! are there degrees of offensiveness? Did he say something about his mother? -
He was also held from behind by the DB on that incomplete. Just enough not to be obvious and draw a flag but enough to delay him getting there. That pass incompletion was not completely on Josh.

I dont hate this call vs the tough Jet defense, going for it and getting it stopped hands them back the momentum. It was also too long for a Josh sneak (which is also one of his problem plays as we have seen in the past). Thirdly our Oline is still a work in progress. I wouldn't trust them yet to get that yardage vs a superior Dline. In addition the call is right is because Dorsey probably runs an obvious play call that the Jets stuff. That last point begs another question, does McD really trust Dorsey to come up with the playcalls we need in these key situations?

NFL in Quebec viewing options
Livinginthepast replied to Bills fan since 87's topic in The Stadium Wall
TSN and CTV carry the NFL games from 1pm and 4pm, Southern Quebec also gets the Plattsburgh, Ny TV stations so you will get the big American networks for the NFL. -
Was Josh Playing Hero Ball or Was i Imagining Things ?/
Livinginthepast replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall
What was disturbing to me is that Hero ball usually starts if the Bills are down. This started when we were in the lead. It was as if he defaulted to it the second he got frustrated. Maybe he didnt like Dorsey's calls or maybe he rashly decided not to wait for the schemes to develop. Either way he dove straight into the deep end of the Hero ball pool! -
Rough season opening losses— are we snake bit?
Livinginthepast replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Looked it up yesterday McD is 1-4 in OT games, Allen is 0-4 in OT games. Obviously you can take off 13 seconds game vs KC as the BS that it was but the Houston playoff game, the TB loss to Brady, the Minni debacle last year and this years turd vs Jets are not a good trend. -
Its funny, we won so games last year but it was an exhausting unpleasant season that died with a whimper. Last night when I started to experience the same frustrations at the sputtering offense, the gaffes and the collapse, I felt the same disgust. By the time the game ended with that clusterf$ck of a special teams play, an obvious penalty not called and wimpiest miss of a tackle (by our punter) that I have ever seen by someone not Tom Brady, I just had to laugh. I just hope the rest of the season we can afford the horrors of last night and last season and for once peak at the right time in the playoffs!

Do the Bills need a " Quarterback Whisperer?"
Livinginthepast replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
I listened to this on WGR. Orlovsky had a great take. Allen needs to be reminded that when he screws up like that with an unforced error he takes the team down with him. Time to grow up indeed! -
Jets OT TD should have been called back...
Livinginthepast replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought the same thing at first about the non call because it happened in the Bills half but then I remembered Josh's freak fumble against the Vikings last year that gifted them the victory. Anything can happen in an NFL game and even though the Jets kicker was on last night, he might have missed, fumbled snap etc. In addition, another poster reminded me of JP Losman this morning and I recalled this piece of brilliance, which was appropriately against the Jets with just 2 mins left in the game. -
It saddens me greatly to agree with the OP, but White hasnt even been a shadow of his old self. The injury has reduced him from being a pro bowler to average DB.

Taped the game & now refuse to watch it
Livinginthepast replied to Billsfan1972's topic in Off the Wall
To quote Dennis Green the Jets "were who we thought they were". Which is to say a great defensive team. We knew this last year when they played us tough 2X. The Rodgers thing was a huge wildcard but we knew what their defense was. So why we didn't have an innovative game plan to counter their strengths is absolutely unacceptable. They had months to come up with something special to throw the Jets off and Dorsey served up that turd? -
Dorsey has been way to conservative in his game plans. He doesn't mix things up or think out of the box. It is literally like a high school coach working with a young QB and team (he makes things too simple and takes no risks). Ironically this approach does 2 things to Josh's game. First it puts him into a situation that he unlikely to succeed and misses his strengths. Secondly it makes Josh frustrated and he tries to force things (2 INTS against double coverage). The 2nd major problem with Dorsey is the lack of in game adjustments. The playoff game vs the Bengals was a perfect example. He keeps trying the same plays even when they are ineffective or when the opposing D has adjusted and neutralized them. Football is a chess game of strategy and not adjusting throughout is insane. I think the jury was out on Dorsey last season until the playoff games when he was poor. The offseason was supposed to see a major jump in quality in the offensive game planning but last night looked exactly the same as the worst elements last year. Unfortunately, Josh has bailed out Dorsey a number of times last year but last night Josh was horrible and made Dorsey's poor play calling even worse. I I think the heat really has to be on Dorsey now to figure this out. If he cannot work with Allen then he needs to go.

Not that this matters one iota, because at this position in the field they would have been in easy FG range but Sam Martins attempt to tackle Gipson's punt return in OT might go down as one of the most embarrassing whiffs by a kicker to tackle that I've ever seen. What on earth is he doing here? A front shove? Maybe head the guy off so someone else can tackle him or hit his legs but that? You have to laugh at the comedy of errors last night was!

Out of character for Milano. Stupid decision and yes it cost the Bills on that drive. When Milano returned the INT he did get hit hard (not sure if it was dirty) and that seemed to piss him off.
