This feels like we still can't have nice things even if we have nice things. -
Have the sweaters started making suggestions yet?

Bills sign Taron Johnson to 3 year extension
cwater10 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
This has become such an impressive, well run organization. I love the consistency in making the right moves at the right times. Can Beane moonlight for a few months at the foot of Washington Street? -
This is definitely in play. There is an implied "be careful where you tread" that can be palpable when pondering a topic to post. Personally, I signed up in 2010 and lurked for many years prior to that. I barely contributed much until recent weeks, not out of lack of interest, but simply out of lack of interest in being "the old guy in school". Recently, and ironically, a thread dealing with what was perceived as posting third rail, death... pushed me to a point where I just stopped giving a flying "f" what flies back at me. I felt I had something important to get off of my chest and just posted it with full knowledge that the shelf life of that thread would be very short. And yeah... it vanished almost immediately. But that experience altered my perception of this board. I immediately found my posts to existing threads felt uninhibited. It's kind of embarrassing to admit. I am a well educated man in my 60's and retired from a career of several decades in which I didn't back down from much in the way of personal interaction. And yet, I have found myself watching my "P's and Q's" on this message board for a team that I have loved and cheered for since I was a boy. I think that is something for us all to consider when jumping on the first opportunity to show up a fellow poster. I've probably been guilty of it once or twice in my own few posts over the years, but really its kind of a sh**** way of being. And really, the obnoxious have such a small minority of posters that it barely merits the place in our psyche that many of us, myself included have afforded them. So Chandler, no beefs with the mods whatsoever. You guys have your hands full. I get it. To answer your challenge I'll just leave it with the immortal words of Lou: "I just want us to do the job that we're capable of doing". Yes, "We got to get it done". Enjoy the spirit of Lou:

Sure sounds a lot like the game planning clinic the Giants put on in Super Bowl XXV.

The offense has been a surprise in style so far, but probably shouldn't have been. They have evolved in every year Daboll has been here. Keeping in mind that he is a New England coaching tree product, it makes perfect sense. If you think about New England's strongest teams during Brady's run, they could, and they did attack teams how ever they wanted, based on the opposition's personnel and the situation. They often changed stripes mid game, going from passing circles around a team to running the ball down their throats (with a cast of very effective and unspectacular running backs) at the snap of a finger. I think that Daboll is intent on rebuilding that perfect beast here. And I think that we may be in for a treat as his creation is starting to simmer into something special. When you pair that with the defense that Frazier and McD have put together, you have to feel good about the direction this team is headed. This is an extremely difficult team to beat. Sunday should be fun to see.

Winning at Pittsburgh in '19 on Sunday night to clinch playoff berth over most immediate challenger to playoff berth was pretty nice. Yes... Duck Hodges. But Steelers were driving to the playoffs with him until we derailed it. One of my favorite moments of this Bills run came in that game when the stadium audio queued up "Renegade" during time out before the Bills took possession in 4th quarter with Steeler defense looking to ice the game behind fans whipped into a frenzy by the their signature song. How did Buffalo respond? By Bills players dancing to the song on the field, making it their own and driving to the go ahead score. That was a statement. This year's team hopefully makes a similar and bigger statement this week. As an aside, big games against K.C. will always make smile and think of Scott Norwood giving the tomahawk chop and gesturing to them to hit the road after hitting big field goal during playoff game. Right drug Scott... wrong dose🥴.

Too rare. Speaking of... I think this is topic relevant, but did anyone else notice Tiki Barber raking Josh over the coals for his intentional throw away sideline pass to Diggs. Tiki kept saying how wildly inaccurate and overthrown the pass was. That was the intent! Pretty sure It was an intentional dump to avoid sack...

All regular humans and the entirety of math itself just wiped their brow and then their smug grins got wiped for good measure, and nodded yes!

Butler/Lewis/Cribbs* would like to send drinks to your table. * for Cribbs as he was not technically a WR (even if he was most dangerous of the trio).

You know... all my life, I've been a big Pink Floyd fan. But I never quite got the reverence for Syd Barrett. Suddenly, I feel clued in to the incredible power of madness to move the masses to join in. Thank God for David Gilmour and Roger Waters. "Is there anybody out there?" -

10/3/21 Gameday Bills vs Texans 1st Half Thread

16 -0 against Houston. What could go wrong? -
Your words remind me of a column by the late great Larry Felser. Early on during the 90's Super Bowl run, Larry cautioned readers and Bills fans that, and I paraphrase, "These are the golden years of Buffalo Bills football. Enjoy them now. They will gone in the blink of an eye". Pats fans now get to live the afterlife of that reality, just as Bills Mafia looks to hop back on that glory ride. Let's hope our current ride lasts for many years. I want to bask in it as unfolds. Meanwhile... a little bit of schadenfreude for the fallen empire definitely feels soothing to the soul. Their turn to lay down and bleed a while.

Guess I might have tipped my hand…

I am surprised at my own similar reaction. Living in the greater Tampa area, there is, of course, an extra layer of mostly "feel good, local rah rah, our team" type stuff. That is what it is... but the larger national football narrative has really captured my attention. It is one hell of a football story regardless of how we feel about the protagonists and antagonists, whoever we choose to place those hats on. I look at like this... I can choose to have one man leave happy, or an entire region and a fan base of obnoxious ****s, along with a gigantic jerk of a coach have a miserable and sour week. Go Bucs!

We Are Going To Be Super Bowl Champions
cwater10 replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My sports therapist pushed me to talk about it. She said; "I sense that someone you trusted may have hurt you in the past". I explained that my boyhood idols were O.J. Simpson and Pete Rose. She offered me a tissue as I pointed to the movie playing in my head. I wasn't ready to talk yet. All I could see was a bunch of demons skating around in the fog, large groups of people singing songs of thanks, and some guy named JoJo standing alone at a free throw line. There were bats in the fog and some dude named John Y holding hostages for a few years. Then everything went black for a while until a quirky tall man with a heavy Czech accent appeared. At first, he appeared to be a savior, but ultimately he smacked me in the head, laughed and taunted me to wake up. He asked if I was surprised when I looked in the crease? No, not really, I said. I knew it was coming. It always does. I pointed instead to a scene where Tommy Chong is defending a woman who is having a hard time processing things going on around her. He says; "hey leave her alone man, she's been through a lot in a short period of time". Yeah, I can relate... And so she kindly removed her Denver Broncos hat and said she kind of understood, but offered hope. I told her that all I wanted at that moment was something to quench my thirst. I felt like I had been walking aimlessly in a desert for 17 years. She offered me a glass of lukewarm water. It felt like it probably belonged to someone else, but I didn't care. It tasted great. I actually enjoyed the warm feeling and relief, but I sensed it wasn't real. She suggested that I may have some very deeply rooted trust issues. Then she showed me something new and asked, in kind of a familiar voice... "Do you believe in miracles?" No... not yet. I still have those damn trust issues. Can I see a little more first? -
