  1. Yup. Rex has done a very good job with the Jets. Rex took a similar roster to ours (elite defense and ST, No QB) to two AFC championships.
  2. From the horses mouth. Stephon Gilmore has come under fire by some fans frustrated with his play. The expectations of the former first-round selection of the Buffalo Bills are high… and for good reason. Not only is it the fans that feel they should be getting something closer to a true ‘shutdown cornerback,’ but so does the man that has coached him for the past 21 months. Defensive backs coach Donnie Henderson said until Gilmore plays with the type of consistency they’re expecting of him, the fans aren’t totally off base. “Absolutely. Well-deserved,” Henderson said. Well-deserved? “Absolutely. And we talk about that, too,” he continued. “If you want to be a shutdown corner in this league, you've got to play technique and you gotta play your guy. That's how we talk about it in my room. I don't beat around the bush. I tell them straight that if you want to be a shutdown corner, you take your man out of it by working technique and making sure you get yours covered.” To this point in the season Gilmore has been above average, but he hasn’t been as sterling as one would expect out of a first round pick. He has even been the man responsible for a few big plays in the first six games. One of those occurred last weekend, when New England wide receiver Brian Tyms caught a long pass in the back of the end zone for a touchdown. Gilmore was draped all over him but couldn’t get his hand on the ball, and even though Corey Graham was there to help him, the big play ultimately fell on him. “That's Stephon all the way,” Henderson said. “He just, s***, you gotta make the play. He's on top, that's just him by himself.” The big question is, what does Gilmore have to do to get to the level that many are hoping he can achieve? To his positional coach, it’s all about understanding who he is as a player and then never resting on his laurels. And to Henderson, Gilmore is a press-man corner that should be jamming his assignment at the line of scrimmage more often than not. “That's his skill level. That's where he needs to be at. When he's on the line of scrimmage, and like I tell him, he's got to know his game. His game is a press corner on the line of scrimmage where he can be physical with the receiver and run with him,” he said. “That's all technique. You've got to feel comfortable enough to do it every time. And that's what's so hard about this game. You've got to do and work your technique every snap, because the minute you take a snap off... touchdown.” Gilmore and the entire Bills secondary will attempt to bounce back from a performance that allowed 361 yards through the air to New England. http://www.wgr550.com/pages/9034669.php?pid=433995
  3. This should be a priority.
  4. Did you see a physiotherapist first?
  5. Sounds like you have not done physiotherapy and a daily stretching regiment at home which is the only treatment that would work for your back issue besides surgery. I wouldn't even have bothered with the list of treatments you mentioned above.
  6. I'd rather have Darrell Bevell as the head coach next year and see what we can get out of EJ under his scheme. Bevell will get the ball to our play makers (especially Watkins) that is for sure. I also think EJ could dramatically improve under Bevell and it saves us money in terms of other options like Bradford.
  7. He certainly isn't doing anything for the football operations considering the lack of playtime Corey Graham has received
  8. Dick Jauron football philosophy with the personality of Greggo.
  9. That is a rather large indictment of our head coach. He doesn't call any plays so what is he actually doing on the sidelines on Sunday that would make him not involved in-game situations like this?
  10. I find it egregious that going into Week 7 and with Watkins on this roster the Bills have never ran a Shotgun-Jet Sweep on offense. With all the outcry in the fan base with the lack of targets to Sammy, will Hackett/Marrone finally realize they can run this high% play to get him the ball?
  11. What was Gay's touchback % on kickoffs Sunday?
  12. You are using casual fan stats again when ranking defenses (going by simply total yards). I have gone through this with you before but you didn't learn. It's ok. I won't bother to explain it again.
  13. SD was near the bottom of the league in terms of run defense when they played them that week and where shut down and I just looked and they still are. NE is a middling run defense and the run game was REALLY bad also Houston is in the bottom tier and what were the stats for that game again? Edit: 4.6/96 yards, 3 rushing 1st downs. That would not be an effective run game against Houston who have a below average run defense.
  14. John Murphy for football and Mike Wilner (baseball radio guy) are the two worst I have heard.
  15. Minnesota matches up defensively. Bills can't run the ball even against the bad run defenses and the Vikings are in the top tier in terms of pass defense.
  16. Unfortunately that didn't work for the Bills.
  17. This play has me more angry than the Duke Williams PI. One of the most egregious things I have witnessed this year.
  18. Last year it was the run defense at/near the bottom of the NFL, this year it is the pass defense that will their undoing as it is in the bottom tier.
  19. Its in the Jerry Sullivan thread. If you click on his column there is details about it.
  20. Kipers Hair I trust. Not much of anyone else.
  21. I really respect your opinion Kipers Hair considering the inside knowledge you have on the NFL draft.
  22. If this is the reason, I have no issues with MIke Williams discontent.
  23. That disconnect that was speculated earlier in the year really seems to be growing IMO.
