  1. it seemed like they were purposely running to his side that game and it would make sense since he hasn't been very good in the run game. As Donne Henderson mentioned he struggles with technique and that is probably what you witnessed with his tackling.
  2. And those 61 targets is 10th most in the NFL.
  3. He might be a top 10 by the end of the year but currently he is on pace to compete for the best rookie WR and being a top 15-20 WR in the NFL.
  4. I'm not jumping on their bandwagon. Just that there clutch plays were the more difficult catch in tighter coverage than Sammy's touchdown. This is not knocking Sammy. His play was very good too. From a statistics standpoint the Chandler play was the most incredible play of the year. We had a 4% chance to win that game prior to that completion.
  5. I found the most impressive catches (in the tightest coverage) to come from Hogan and Chandler.
  6. Impossible to prove and it also wasn't even the most difficult catch of the day made by a Bills WR.
  7. I can't get myself to follow that kind of logic at all regarding the 2015 draft.
  8. Which also begs the question in this discussion is why do you trade up for a receiver when you don't have a proven QB to maximize the productivity you think this player has?
  9. 2014 Projected Top WR 107 catches, 1627 yards, 14 touchdowns 2014 Projected Top 5 WR'S 105 catches, 1559 yards, 8 touchdowns 2014 Sammy Watkins 80 catches, 990, 9 touchdowns 2014 Calvin Benjamin 78 catches, 1090 yards, 11 touchdowns Through week 7 15 WR's have more catches, 21 WR's have more yards, 14 WR's have more touchdowns, 10 WR's have more receptions over 20 yards and 116 receivers have more YAC.
  10. With how popular advanced stats has become in sports (the NFL is still green in this area) there will be a WAR like/type metric soon enough for certain positions I'm sure.
  11. The concept of WAR would be used in a similar manner like how it is used in baseball if it ever came to fruition. It would never be used in the manner that Sammy Watkins made 3 big plays that lead to the win in one game, made a spectacular catch on the final drive in another and had a pretty solid game today with one grab being the game winning touchdown. We would be 2-5 without him therefore he is 3 wins above replacement. This is the poor logic that you are using when you quoted WAR.
  12. He goes in the hall of fame with the colts no matter what happens with the Broncos.
  13. What's the projection on taking the average of the current top 5 WR's?
  14. Exactly and if it did the concept would be statistically based by a complex equation that you plug numbers into (entire body of work to date), not arbitrarily pulling single plays out of a game and assigning a "win" which you are doing.
  15. WAR, Wins Above Replacement is not a grade that is compiled in such an imaginary way like you are assigning it.
  16. This was a large gaffe from Crossman today on what has been a rather stellar year for him thus far.
  17. Agree on the multiple 1st rounders for a WR. Good production from both rookies...not great. Watkins needs to be like Randy Moss for me to believe this trade was worth it. WR is one of several positions I wouldn't mortgage future drafts with. Kelvin Benjamin (28th) 34 rec, 477 yards, 5TD Sammy Watkins (9th + 2015 1st + 2015 4th) 35 rec, 433 yards, 4TD
  18. I feel really bad for CJ and I also feel CJ will be an all-pro with a new team and staff. Good luck Spiller!
  19. When he was carted off (presumably crying under the towel) I thought this is the final memory. It made me sad.
  20. Watkins on the jet sweep for 13 yards.
  21. The only first time head coach candidate I am willing to entertain the idea of from the NFL ranks is Darrell Bevell.
  22. Bad technique as well as football IQ is something I have been harping too and why he is so inconsistent. IMO I think it [technique] could also be a reason for him always being banged up. I find it fascinating that Henderson brought this up so candidly.
  23. Maybe Hackett will learn a few things on how we can utilize Watkins after we play the Jets.
