Bowles' Big Mistakes
Wayne Cubed replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chan definitely made some bizarre calls. The 4th down pass to Marshall. The 3rd down Fitz run. The play to Kellen Davis. Run for 8 on 1st down, then abandon the run for passing. Chan was going to be Chan and overthink play calls. -
Nickel Robey Is "A BIG LIABILITY"
Wayne Cubed replied to r henderson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Got to ask, why is a big liability in quotations? -
Thursday night games are never pretty. TT didn't turn the ball over and made a couple important throws.

IK Enemkpali to be team captain vs. Jets
Wayne Cubed replied to Wazzu Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's a couple people, in this thread, that have come across as "upset" over what the PR means to the Bills. I didn't mean to imply that you were one of them. I'd say the media didn't cover the Incognito being a captain because 1. It's not the NYC media, 2. Miami isn't Rex's former team and 3. As you said, Martin isn't on the team anymore. I don't think "this is what I do" is that bogus. If he doesn't choose IK to be a captain does the NYC story become "Rex, you always have former players as game day captains and IK isn't one of them, are you being a hypocrite?" I don't know if it would the story but I could see it happening. -
IK Enemkpali to be team captain vs. Jets
Wayne Cubed replied to Wazzu Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, the only reason to get upset about it is because Geno is still on the team? Does it matter that he's not a starter? -
IK Enemkpali to be team captain vs. Jets
Wayne Cubed replied to Wazzu Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because I haven't read this entire thread, was anyone upset when Incognito was a captain for BOTH Miami games? I don't remember seeing a thread with people completely upset about it... maybe I missed it? -
You thought the Bills' "Color Rush" Uni's were bad?
Wayne Cubed replied to thebandit27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Golddust from WWF. Popped in my head right away with those uni's. -
Bill, you could say almost the exact same thing for a LT and a DE. Look at Joe Thomas, how many games has he "taken over and won" for the Browns? How about JJ Watt? Sure, there were a couple games last year were he willed the Texans to win by his play but still not nearly as much as a good QB would. Does that mean no team should pick those positions in the first round? Or in the top ten? So, a team with QB problems probably should only select QBs in the first round. And to your other point, you can find DE and LT not in the first round as well. Jason Peters and Greg Hardy are examples of that. Is it harder/rare? Of course it is, just like it is for finding a starting CB. Can you find "serviceable" CBs past round 1? Of course. Now, if you're saying a team doesn't need great CBs or a great LT or a great DE because they have a great QB, I would agree with that.

IK Enemkpali to be team captain vs. Jets
Wayne Cubed replied to Wazzu Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Captain" It's a glorified name given to the player/s who go out for the coin toss. That is all they do. It was the starting OL for the Jax game. In preaseason, it was all 4 QBs and Big Ben had a chuckle about it. Rex has been doing it this the ENTIRE time he's been a head coach. The only reason it's a story this week is because Rex is facing his former team and IK punched Geno in the face. In week 17 Rex will do the same thing again. It means nothing. I'm not sure why as a fan of either team, especially the Jest who know Rex does this, you would get upset. The real team captains have a "C" on their jersey. -
Would Dalton be on that list last year? With Luck's play this year should he even be grouped with those others? Basically you are saying if Tyrod Taylor isn't a HoF QB, the Bills should move on.
-
And the Bills history at QB, IMO, shouldn't have any relevance when talking about Tyrod Taylor. Every team has flash in the pan or bad QB play until a good QB comes along and changes that.
-
...and was pretty close to mounting comeback wins in both.

Bills v fins second half game thread
Wayne Cubed replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love reading through this thread after I haven't checked for 20-30 mins. So many hot takes! -
And maybe it's possible, because 2 coaching staffs saw his play, that Ross Cockrell just didn't show anything when he was with the Bills. Maybe it's because the Bills, more recently, have had good CB play and Cockrell didn't see the field enough to show what he is showing now. And until his play in Pittsburgh I don't recall anyone screaming for Cockrell to see the field. Some people questioned the pick and his play this far, so it's not like he would have been "known talent" sitting on the bench. Yes, in hindsight now, it might have been better for the Bills to keep his talents.
-
And if he hadn't shown that?
-
I don't believe I said I KNOW. I'm speculating, obviously, because we will never know. Look at it realistically, when was he going to crack the roster and get as much playing time as he has had in Pittsburgh?
-
Not that I don't think he could do it but Cockrell is an outside CB, I highly doubt he takes Robeys position in the slot, mostly because of Robeys blitzing ability. With McKelvin coming back and the play of Darby thus far the Bills are looking very deep at the CB position. Butler isn't horrible either. And yes more talent isn't bad but like I said he'd be mostly wasted the bench. Plus, what had Cockrell shown to that point?
-
So, your saying you'd prefer Cockrell to take the handful of snaps Butler has? Does that really change anything?
-
Where was he going to play? The Bills have 2 CBs playing excellent and are going to be getting McKelvin back. Should he have been cut? Probably not but no one was going to trade for an unknown, which he was. So he would have just rode the bench and played out his rookie contract.

Official 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' thread
Wayne Cubed replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Some good theories in there but I don't buy it. The story writing all along for the original trilogy was a parallel between what happened to Anakin and what was happening to Luke. I don't think it was ever a question that Luke was somewhat heading down the dark side path. He was doing things his father did, Cloud City and at Jabbas, right up until the point where he was willing to kill someone he loved BUT he stopped. He threw down his lightsaber. He didn't give into temptation whereas Anakin did. He didn't kill his father, which a Sith would. He didn't even kill the emperor, his father did, knowing he didn't want his son becoming what he became. Hell, he didn't even kill Jabba, Leia did. The whole story is written as good vs evil, it completely changes the story to a tragedy about how absolute power corrupts and that people are hopeless to avoid it if Luke is in fact evil. Never mind the fact the entire story of Luke completely turning evil would have happened off screen.
