  1. Yup. And with a top heavy WR class, I won't be surprised if that's the way the Bills go. The draft is deep at CB. They could go FA with Safety. The Bills can't compete in FA at WR, so to me, it makes sense.
  2. He CAN catch, but he's certainly not Juzczkyioijlkjuoiujs
  3. You mean, skating on snow isn't a positive for ZB?
  4. Nah, I didn't think he looked great in the couple games I saw him play. He wasn't nearly as athletic as Kuechley and it SHOWED, big time.
  5. I mean he did describe it as a "chasm", which to me reads completely different than what someone like Rapoport has been saying all off season. The way LaCanfora phrased it made it seem like he wouldn't be back in a Bills uniform.
  6. No it's not. At all. We are discussing why CBs are paid what they are paid. You seem to think that because Gilmore is a poor tackler, he shouldn't be paid as a good cover corner.
  7. No one is comparing Deion the player to Gilmore the player. We are talking about the CB position, which both players play. They both get paid for that position. You are complaining about how much Gilmore is going to get paid. Obviously you understand that Deion got paid because he was an amazing cover corner but admit he can't tackle. You think Gilmore is a bad CB and shouldn't be paid, because he can't tackle and is "kitty". Do you not see the problem with that argument?
  8. I'm sorry but no you haven't. Deion Sanders is one of the best CBs to ever play the game. All you said was he was the best cover corner ever and you are saying Gilmore is horrible because he can't tackle. Deion couldn't tackle. Why is he considered one of the best to play the game, if he couldn't tackle? It doesn't show a complete lack of understanding at all. That is what Deion was paid for. He was paid for covering. Richard Sherman, also not a good tackler, is paid to cover. If you'd like to talk about how defense work in the NFL today, I'm more than happy to discuss. But why certain payers are paid the way they are is a completely different topic.
  9. Good god, can I just say I'm happy this whole thing is over.
  10. Are you suggesting Gilmore hasn't made tackles on RBs? Or slow the RB down? This is ridiculous. Linebackers are paid to tackle. Cornerbacks are paid to cover. Why aren't the best tackling CBs paid the most money? Why is Deion considered one of the best CBs in history considering he wouldn't even attempt to tackle. Surely that would knock him out of on of the greatest.
  11. I'm simply pointing out that one of the best CBs of all time, wasn't a great tackler. To be a good or great CB, seeing as one of the best wasn't, doesn't require the CB to be an amazing tackler. That's not what he's paid for.
  12. Gilmore is a very. very good CB1. Is he Revis great? No. But if Gilmore so much as allows a catch, he sucks, to some.
  13. Deion was a horrible tackler. I've seen Sherman wiff a bunch of times. The only great CB tackler I can think of is Revis.
  14. Yup, he had 4 receiving TDs in 2015 plus over 300 yards.
  15. The Bills cut Felton last year and only brought him back for the year after week 2.
  16. And that's all it actually would have been. Christie admits he had no plans of coming up to Buffalo and is happy living in Florida.
  17. Well that answers who the "he" was. Still don't think it's a big deal. If Christie felt such a huge urge to help out Carpenter, why not just contact Carp personally? I'm sure he could have got his phone number or email.
  18. Umm. I read it. I quoted it. I pointed out how you are interpreting it to mean Whaley didn't want outside help, when Christie could have very well meant Carpenter didn't want outside help. If Christie meant Carpenter didn't want outside help, how is that throwing the FO under the bus?
  19. He didn't call out anyone. He said "HE didn't want outside help" that could be Whaley or Carp. You are assuming the he is Whaley. Could very well mean Carp didn't want outsider help.
  20. Also Kelly/Thurman are there, at the games, being a presence. Even saying that, Jim has said multiple times he felt quarterback X was gonna take the Bills to the promised land. Doesn't mean he can coach or help any of these guys out.
  21. Where in any of what was said do you get or is it implied that Whaley got in the way? It could very well be possible that Whaley asked Carpenter and Carpenter said no thanks. Whaley relayed that message to Christie. You do know that Christie could have contacted Carpenter personally right? If Whaley said no, he could have still got in touch somehow with Carpenter. Whaley, that we know of, doesn't monitor players personnel phones. He didn't have to use the Bills to contact him if he wanted to help him so badly. If Christie thinks he can coach, then by all means he can type up his resume and start looking for jobs.
  22. But, but, biut... Garrison Sanborn?!? Look for the Bills to draft a LS in 1st round.
  23. At this point any thread discussing any QB devolves into a Tyrod thread. I don't think anyone's mind is going to be changed at this point.
