  1. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope all Bills fans, everywhere, not just members on this board, a very bountiful Thanksgiving. Great thing about Thanksgiving is that it focuses on being grateful for what you do have, not wishing for what you don't have.
  2. Yes, you must be thinking about 1984- 85. Back -to-back 2-14 seasons. I swear, there were college teams that could have beaten those Bills.
  3. As far as I'm concerned with #1, they can do away with Thursday night games. At least with Sunday & Monday games, they have close to a week to recoup & prepare. As with the old school days, yeh it was though, but they played 12 games then.
  4. Been thinking about how much of a grind the game is on the body by this time in the season. Each year, 6 teams are playing on Thanksgiving Thursday. Yes, they have the following Sunday off, but many players, by this time in the season are falling in love with the ice water bath. When the idea of playing games on Thanksgiving was first implemented, generations ago, players were slower, smaller, and had to have jobs during the off season in order to pay the monthly bills. Today's NFL player is way bigger & faster. Just wondering what some of your thoughts might be on this. Go Bills
  5. Ahhh Hank "They took the sails out of our wind" Bullock. One of our more forgettable coaches. RIP Hank
  6. Thanks for the great post Virgil. And Happy Thanksgiving to you. RWR
  7. Big city bias, my friend. Plus, they're the Cowboys, America's "darlings". Go Bills this Thursday!
  8. A beatdown by the Bombers. They just out-muscled Hamilton and by midway through the 3rd quarter, the TiCats were spent. They were bouncing off the Bomber running backs because they had no more juice left. I was for Hamilton in this one, but congrats to the Bombers.
  9. One Buffalo, thanks so much for posting that. I enjoyed it thoroughly! Good to see the 2 of them getting along so well. Jim's knowledge should be a lot of help to Josh as he learns the ropes. Thanks again, OB.
  10. Ha! Without a program I guess it would be hard to tell.
  11. I heard the half time show is going to be a rematch ofJoe Kapp & that other old CFL codger who got into a fight a few years ago at an awards ceremony! Anybody remember that one?
  12. TiCats vs Bombers. Who ya got? I'm going with Hamilton because I'm partial for the East Division.
  13. To my fellow veterans, Thanks to all that served, from the Rev war all the way to today. We love our Bills, but we love & appreciate our Vets all the more.
  14. Well said, matter. The Bills didn't make the schedule where they could pick the teams to play. It's not their fault that the Bengals, Giants, Skins, Fish, Jets, and some of the others on our schedule are having a down season. This is media bias. That's all it is. Good post. Go Bills.
  15. Try the Canal Inn, I heard its great. Their chicken wings are served in boat loads too.
  16. The media is a powerful tool in shaping public opinion. With the media always drooling over their favorite teams year in and year out, the not-so-subtle message is, "those other teams just don't matter."
  17. The offense is still gelling, as with our still-wet-behind-the ears QB.
  18. Big city bias. Been saying it for years. You're exactly right Bender. Thanks for the post.
  19. Man, for the Patriots, it was like Bunker Hill, Cowpens and Yorktown all wrapped in one! Sorry for the historical reference, but the Jets had no chance.
  20. Here's my scenario: Bills beat the AFC teams in the championship game, then in the Super Bowl, beat those NFC teams, facing Dallas twice.
  21. Some of the biggest things for me, no particular order: Eli getting benched. I like both Mannings and I don't like seeing Eli on the bench at this time in his career. This one is kind of a dual surprise 4 me: the number of tipped passes by our defense, and how really good our defense it. I knew going in that they were going to be stout. But man, they're playing lights out! Frank has his Colts playing well. I think they're going to be dangerous going down the stretch of the season. Cleveland: During the preseason, it seemed that's all they had on at NFL Network & ESPN. Been a big nothing burger so far.
  22. Great pic. Reminds me of a 60's protest rally.
  23. Actually it wasn't hindsight opinion. That's how I felt at the time based on watching all Bills games that season prior to MCM. Watching our offense with Johnson at qb was like watching paint dry. 3 & outs after 3 & outs and only about 14 to 17 points scored by the end of 3 quarters. Moreover, Johnson was getting pummeled in the back- field repeatedly all season long because they knew he was slow reading his progressions.
