  1. I’m not convinced the Ravens rest their starters, en masse: 1) if they rest starters, it’s three full weeks before they play a game (this week leading up to the Steeler game, the week leading up to the bye, and then the week leading up to their game at home. I don’t think any coach would feel comfortable with that kind of layoff, especially Harbaugh. Reading some recent quotes, it seems like he feels like he mis-handled 2019 when they came out flat in the playoffs after resting starters at the end of the regular season. 2) The Steelers have had their number, winning 6 of 7. I live in the Mid-Atlantic; the Steeler rivalry is as heated as Miami-Buffalo. They hate each other. I can’t imagine the Raven culture being “cool” with laying down for your hated rival after the Steelers have owned you for three years. I look for the Ravens to play a lot of starters, given even just one of the two points above, but especially because both things are true. That bodes well for us on Saturday.
  2. Nothing like reading the posts after we drafted Josh. There are some doozies in there that still make me laugh uncontrollably.
  3. Before Sunday’s (Ravens) game, Dolphins coordinator Vic Fangio paid the highest compliment when he said he had faced a number of mobile quarterbacks. “Then there’s Lamar Jackson,” he said. “He’s unlike anybody else. The only other player that’s been like him in the last 50 years is Michael Vick. The pure definition of a great quarterback is there’s no one way to play him — because if there was, everybody would do it.” Implicit Josh Allen slight… after Josh hung 48 on his defense earlier this year. Let’s drop another 40-burger on these choke artists.
  4. I’m not opposed to drafting two WR’s high for that exact reason.
  5. Yeah, it’s bizarre. Hard to believe it’s the same fanbase that suffered thru: 2000-2016 and Dick “it’s hard to win in the NFL” Jauron.
  6. Why can’t we kick it in the end zone like every team.
  7. If that’s true, you have Joseph active and make Ford inactive.
  8. Phillips is IR, eligible to return in the divisional round of the playoffs… Bills To Place DT Jordan Phillips On IR December 21st, 2023 at 10:35am CST • By Sam Robinson Suffering a dislocated wrist in the Bills’ dominant win over the Cowboys, Jordan Phillips expressed hope he could return for a playoff run. If the team is to qualify for the postseason, Phillips will not be available to start that journey. The Bills are placing the veteran defensive tackle on IR on Thursday, NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reports. Phillips will be sidelined for the final three regular-season games and Buffalo’s playoff opener, should the team continue its recent form into a postseason berth.
  9. The original post is downright cringy. I just spent all weekend watching all kinds of “how could the team with more to play for not beat/throttle/blowout the lesser team” games, many of which the lesser team won (helping the Bills along the way). Curious how Chiefs, Jags, and Colts fans are feeling. Brutally ugly losses against inferior opponents. This is the NFL. Find a way to win and enjoy the ride. Enough of the desire for style points - it’s tiring and delusional. There are no AP pollsters to please. Who cares.
  10. Someone made the comment how Bills’ wideouts haven’t made a lot of contested catches this year. I kind of wrote it off as fans watching too many Justin Jefferson highlights. I started watching all of these random AFC playoff bubble teams more closely (instead of just for fantasy relevance). Higgins is a freak - he’s made more contested catches in the last few weeks for Browning than the Bills’ skill players have had the entire season. Sounds hyperbolic, but he’s insane. He is just so physical and strong…
  11. Tee Higgins, who is among the most impressive wideouts I’ve see this year. He has made Jake Browning look look productive. Just the number of impossible, contested catches is insane. He and Allen would be poetry. He is still only 24. We would have to restructure every contract on the roster, but he’d be worth it! He’s a beast and he is going to be an alpha-1 for someone next year.
  12. if Jake Elliott doesn’t hit a 59-yarder in the driving rain, we are back in the playoffs in your world. We can do this all day. Who cares.
  13. Honestly, Easton Stick impressed me yesterday. Mobile, strong arm, pretty accurate, 6’4” 220 pounds. He’s an UFA this offseason. I think he’d be a good fit as Josh’s backup - very similar style. Wouldn’t have to change the playbook. That’d be a good get relative to others we have slotted in at #2 in recent years.
  14. They aren’t compiling the requisite style points to get in.
  15. Shakir call doesn’t get reversed, Allen I think would have been at 250-275 total yards and 4 TD (total). Awfully close.
  16. Anyone think Shakir wasn’t actually touched down (speaking of impossible Josh throws)? I thought it was so bang-bang, that they maintain the call the field.
  17. That Morse penalty kept computer assistance on for the Chargers.
  18. The fact that they closed out both the Chiefs and Chargers on the road… I think they will need to flex that muscle come playoff time. And, they are doing it with a decimated defense. Why did Von take Floyd’s snaps? Von still can’t get any burst off that knee. He looks like an old man trying to outside rush, and he can’t spin.
  19. I’m 48 and I remember the Kelly bills having tight sphincter games all the time. I think they clinched the 88 division title against a bad Jets team in Orchard Park, 9-6. I don’t recall desiring style points. All I know is that after the Denver loss, I was certain they were missing the playoffs. This feels like bonus time right now. Just keep finding a way.
  20. What made me have to walk to the kitchen is, after the refs imploded that drive, there was a block in the back right in front of the official at the point of the return… no call. This officiating is just all over the place. It must be exhausting for the players.
  21. You get a boost in the ESPN weekly rankings, which means a lot to people.
  22. We blew out the Cowboys last week, who blew out the Eagles the week before. The Niners lost in Cleveland to PJ Walker earlier this year. If Watson were healthy, he’d be on the street right now.
  23. This times 100. That Morse call was horrific. I’ve had about enough of the officiating altering games this year.
  24. It’s like you are watching the NFL for the first time. You have never seen a maligned home team play inspired football for an interim head coach? Maybe relax and enjoy it. Other than the officiating, the NFL is an entertaining product.
