  1. Again, I see inconsistency where you see horrible accurracy. He made accurrate throws and some not so accurrate. Consistently making good decisions and throws can be developed. That was precisely the knock on Warner...cannon arm inconsistent accuracy. He learned. My mechanics point is based on my observation that he doesn't start his throw from the same position everytime or rather nearly enough. It is too elongated. Discipline in keeping the arm higher will help accuracy on the quick read throws. Only time on the job will build enough confidence to rely on it.
  2. I get cautious optimism. I also get that some posters won't warm to any Bills qb who doesn't fit their picture of what that qb should look like. But this idea that EJ must make huge strides is puzzling. I see it as making little adjustments in mechanics first and foremost his arm position prior to delivery and continuing to learn from each and every snap. Fitz was successful to a point taking what the d gave him and the Bills had marginal success. It was when he was given opportunities requiring arm strength that he was unable to deliver. EJ does not suffer those same limitations. It is the threat of being able to take the top off that keeps defenses honest and allows all the other weapons to be effective.[Edit]
  3. I read this on my phone, and proceeded to urinate in public. Lmao!
  4. Da'Rick Rogers...uh, nevermind, wrong year.
  5. I find it. Interesting that Marrone has been eerily silent. Last year he was front and center with eh at the presser. Is this a Doug Russ thing or is the hc onboard?
  6. Why trade anything he'll be there at 9. 16 probably.
  7. I don't see much there after the first handful on each list. But Miami is in a world of hurt if they dont resign some of their fas. I concur with Bill, the draft might be the better route. I woul take at least 3 OTs. One or two could play guard.
  8. No he doesn't. He is scared, has limited vision and with the exception of the tj touchdown does not make things happen. He may have better stats than ej, but that is simply an indictment of our qb situation.
  9. This is the problem. You pick players based on their talent level in relation to other players regardless of position. If there are no first round talents to be selected, you don't waste a pick at that position. Picking a player in the first does not necessarily mean they are worthy of the pick. Selecting for need often leads to this result.
  10. If you clamor for your fo to "draft a qb in the first round" when they are no first round talents, and then think the first round project should make you a contender...yoooooooooouuuuu might be a Bills fan... If you want to cut your first round third rounder after 9 starts and "draft a qb in the first round" "until you get it right"...yooooooooouuuuu might be a Bills fan.
  11. Taking EJ where we did made this a poor draft in my opinion. We got a pleasant surprise in Kiko, and a serviceable wr in Woods. Goodwin? Compounded the failure of taking EJ where we did.
  12. Not to quibble about the talent level on the current roster, but taking a qb in the first round just because you don't have a top 10 player, is exactly why we are in the position we are. EJ was not first round talent to begin with, but if the FO dared not heed to fan hysteria the home opener would have been a blackout. The key is keep using your draft position to maximum effectiveness by taking BPA regardless of need and not forcing a 3rd round talent into round one. Now they are stuck in a viscious cycle.
  13. I really do not think this has anything to do with sucession planning, if so he could have set up a series of charitable remainder trusts and family ltd partnerships to effectively minimize a negative tax consequence on disposition. The thing that looms larger is that the league doesn't want to waste their time with such a small and declining market. The television rights deals are the grail the more larger markets within the league the better. However, this may change quickly. I recently attended a seminar for work hosted by the u of chicago economics department. To prove a point that markets are not truly efficient one of the phd's used the NFL as a case study. The data shows that fans, or rather the vast majority, do not care about the game as a whole. They watch their team and only a small % follow other games on tv. More people are shunning broadcast cable every year that by 2020 the majority will be watching internet streams. His point was that the NFL while highly successful, is at its apex, and that adding markets is not going to change the fundamental fact that it is really a collective of parochial interests. As consumer behavior changes, there will be a devaluation of its content in relation to that available elsewhere. It is happening in soccer overseas already. The collective broadcasts do not attract as much interest as local productions be it tv or web.
  14. Build a stadium in Lockport or at a minimum north and east. Make Rochester closer to the action and Syracuse as well. Between the three you have enough of a fan base to fill the seats. Toronto was and is a mistake. The cbc isn't part of the tv contract. Screw them.
  15. so does Luck, he just doesnt make it about him.
  16. But as talented as he is he just isnt likable...that posing after the play makes him look like a douche. And he is gonna take a shot for it.
  17. Well I didn't see EJ make any ints, sacks, hurries or knockdowns. Unless he stole a #1 from Jairus. He managed well w/o two weapons and no ground game. But make no mistake the defense sure made his job easier. I am undecided on him due to a small sample size. He played well today. But this was a team win.
  18. It is not a matter of chance. Desperation made ej a high pick, not his actual ability to play the position. Tuel can play the position but lacks the physical talent to do so adequately. Ej has tools but has no feel for the position. You do not need to wait on a guy who never produced in college for that same lack of feel for the position. His replacement at fsu is a qb, not just a good athlete.
