  1. Houston 12-4
  2. Taylor was electric again but for the third week in a row I saw EJ make top tier, NFL caliber throws, that I still don't believe TT or Cassel can make. Perhaps they CAN, but they haven't. Meanwhile EJ has demonstrated he can and has made the same/similar throws to what the other two are making. I'd accept and support TT as the starter, but definitely strongly pulling for EJ. If Cassell starts I'll just be straight up ticked off.
  3. Are you thinking....or does this sound delicious to you?
  4. Here's to hoping EJ ends up with numbers somewhat like this; 1st Drive - 4/4, 45 yards passing, 0 rushing yards, Carpenter FG 2nd Drive - 5/6, 55 yards passsing, 8 rushing yards, 23 yard TD pass to Thompson 3rd Drive - 5/7, 50 yards passing, 12 rushing yards, 12 yard TD run by EJ As he exits, he has a final line of 14/17, 150 yards passing, 20 rushing yards, 2 TDs (1 rushing) Would this win him the job?
  5. I always try to use the names of the players on my team and create something fun. For example, two years ago I had Matthew Stafford and Stevie Johnson on my team, so I went with Staff Infected Johnson.
  6. Not sure if this was already mentioned in the thread, but a couple of days ago Rex stated he expects Hogan to be back for week 1. To me, that seemed to indicate Hogan was locked into the opening day roster.
  7. Week 3 against the Chargers, EJ was 23/39 for 238 and a TD. He took 3 sacks and fumbled once, but did not lost that fumble. He also ran 5 times for 24 yards. Please, help me understand how he was "responsible" for the SD loss.
  8. It's actually more so that Marrone did not know what he was doing. If he had, he would have played EJ and the team would have likely won more games than they did with Orton. With a competent coach, he would have played all of last season.
  9. I'm not saying everyone with size and strength makes a good QB, but I think we can agree those are desirable qualities for QB. And yes, based on what I see from EJ right now, even as a UDFA, I would want him to be starting.
  10. More than enough chances? Right as he was beginning to look good, albeit still a rookie, he got hurt. Meanwhile, despite being completely handcuffed by incompetent coaching, he starts 2-2 year two, after not having even played a full season, yet gets benched. EJ never had a fair chance with the old staff. When given a chance to actually play his game, he looked to be on the right track. Then Moron and Hackett made him timid and ruined what confidence he had. When given an opportunity to perform this preseason he has. He needs the start with the 1s next week to prove he can be the guy.
  11. We already tried the safe quarterback who "isn't going to win you many games but won't lose you many either" approach, and I for one am tired of it. I have zero desire to see Matt Cassel start. He should be on the bench for leadership and mentoring, but really should have never even been in the starting QB discussion. TT brings energy and a spark, and with this team, I think we could win as many as 12 games with him as our starting QB. The problem is I think if he is good, it lasts for two years or so, maybe three. I just do not see a sustained career there, and then we're back in QB purgatory. I think it is apparent EJ's confidence is on the rise. He has the size and arm strength to be a starting NFL QB, and he has done nothing in game situations this year but prove he's fixed at least some of his accuracy issues. This is a first round pick, who now has proper coaching, and continues to mature and develop. If we are looking for a franchise QB, we can can count on for the next 8 or 10 years... I think EJ is our guy. It is foolish if he is not our starting QB.
  12. He gives you those magical play, and possibly strings it together for a full game every now and then, but overall, just not starting QB material.
  13. He's also is making it look as though EJ is one step from being out the door, told EJ to feed the media a line about "whether it's here or somewhere else", and created crazy media buzz about TT, when really EJ has been in the lead and the favorite to win the starting QB job all along.
  14. I like the agreement that the jets are just going to be awful by the end of the year. Maybe we'll get one of those crazy 10 points spreads!
  15. I went back and forth on the Bengals game. I landed on the rationale that hopefully we'll have either a 3-2 or 4-1 record at that point. If this is the case, we've beat a couple of quality teams in there somewhere over the first 5 weeks, making it reasonable we would be favored at home.
  16. I guess it's time to root for TT and Cassel to completely suck on Thursday while EJ completely dominates, bringing new life to this qb competition. If that doesn't happen, I'll forget about my love for EJ and the #3 jersey hanging in my closet, and jump on the Tyrod train.
  17. I must be overly optimistic. I assume our D will dominate Indy and straight up expect a week one win. I'll be disappointed if we're not 1-0.
  18. I'm not sure we'll win all the ones I have listed. For example, I think we'll be favored at home against the giants, but if our secondary struggles that day it could definitely be a loss. As far as finding a couple more, I'm counting on a week 1 win against the Colts and a week 3 win against the Dolphins, but don't think we'll go into those games as favorites.
  19. I thought it may be fun to get thoughts on the number of times and which games you expect the Bills to be favored in this year, based on Vegas odds. Again, not the games you think the Bills will win or lose, but when you think they will actually be favored. I think it will take us winning 2 of the first 3 to get some respect, and we will be underdogs in each of the first 3 games. The one way I could see this changing is if we convincingly beat Indy and NE, meaning by at least two scores each. At that point, we would probably be favored going into Miami, depending on how they played the first two weeks. But, I'm not sure that will happen so... These are the games I think we will actually be favored in; Week 4 vs Giants, Buffalo -2.5 Week 5 at Tennessee, Buffalo -4.5 Week 6 vs Cincinnati, Buffalo -1.5 Week 7 at Jacksonville, Buffalo -5 Week 9 vs Miami, Buffalo -1.5 Week 10 at Jets, Buffalo -3.5 Week 13 vs Houston, Buffalo -3.5 Week 15 at Washington, Buffalo -2.5 Week 17 vs Jets, Buffalo -4.5
  20. I read through and saw a few comments about holding, and this is by far the rule I have most. Offensive holding, 10 yards, do it 3 times and its 1 and 40. One defensive holding call and all of a sudden it is a new set of downs and 1 and 10. I don't even like that offensive holding is 10 yards. It gets called so often. I would like to see both offensive and defensive holding as 5 yard penalties. And, as Big Cat said, if the 5 yard defensive hold pushes them past the sticks, then fine, give them the first down. But, if it's 3 and 16 and the defense holds, well, now its 3 and 11.
  21. Debatable...although largely agreed upon by NFL executives. I'd still rather have him over Cassel. Cassel will manage the game and play it safe (with this D maybe that is all we need to win). I'm not saying either deserve to start, but as a 3rd string option, I'd prefer Tebow over Cassel. It would require less of an adjustment to the playbook if both EJ and TT went down, and the excitement/unpredictable craziness he brings to the game is fun to watch.
  22. Good point. Trade Cassel to someone else for a 7th and then just grab Tebow once he is released. Thanks for helping me think this through.
  23. Let's send Cassel to Philly for Tebow. At least then, all three of our QBs would be able to operate the same plays/system without too much of a drastic change should one go down.
  24. Well, I do despise the idea of Cassel as our QB. We've seen the story of washed up game manager play out time and time again. He should not even be on this team when preseason is over.
  25. I thought my last couple of comments would at least garner some type of reaction. I'll try harder! Seems to have worked! I never doubted his coaching ability. I mainly just had a distaste for his obnoxious comments and loud mouth. I'm not sure if he seems to have toned it down or not. But, when he's on your side, obnoxious and loud seems more like cool and confident.
