Excellent post We are not going to rebuild this franchise through FA especially not now. We need to build a core, earn back some respect, then sign top-level FAs.

That's definitely not a nightmare...won't make a lot of Bills happy though. I think we could do a lot worse than Davis/Tebow.

Agreed. Don't forget it is highly unlikely that Dan Williams drops out of the 1st round...but it's a dream...something very far from reality

My sentiments exactly...why is everybody bad mouthing the front office...we had NOTHING at OT, now we have something. A definite step in the right direction.

Question is...would you take him in round 2 if we already grabbed a OT at 9 and Cam Thomas or Cody is there at 41???

I think this would be my top scenario. Picking at 17 seems a better fit considering the guys we will be targeting. There are always top 10-15 prospected picks that drop on draft day. Maybe the cards will fall perfectly for us???

I disagree. Assuming he's a starter, I look at Green as the RT next season which to me paves the way for the LT spot to be our #9 pick. I'd be SHOCKED if we REACH for Tebow in the first round...emphasis on SHOCKED.

Assuming no new free agent comes in (in addition to drafting a QB), it doesn't hurt us to give Trent a chance to win the job. If he squanders his chance again...well then he's gone. But how crappy would it be if we didn't give him a chance, he signs with someone else, and becomes the next Drew Brees? ..of course that is an incredible OVER EXAGGERATION but you get my point...hopefully.

I think it's more of a question of "Does Nix/Gailey/Co. think we can realistically rebuild/compete this coming year?"... You never know...but why over-spend on FA, reach for draft picks, etc..when we could put out a competitive team in two years... Imagine how much better we could be if we plan our draft this year with the notion that we DONT have to fill all holes and can look to 2011. Bottomline, I believe everyone at OBD wants to win and whatever plays out this offseason and year is what I will believe was the best practical scenario.

Good to know...it gives us a better idea of what's going to fall to us at #9. Definitely better than guessing...
