  1. Kincaid has been great at doing what he's asked to do, and those responsibilities are vastly different than those of a boundary WR. Why would we take a strength and mess with it? I think you are assuming that asking Kincaid to go play outside, and assuming he acts as a legit threat as WR2, would somehow create different coverages and opportunities for Shakir as our slot WR? That's a lot of assuming, but I will assure you that even if that were to happen (it wont) and work out as you hope (questionable given why Kincaid has success doing what he is currently doing is nothing like what a boundary WR 2 is asked to do) it would not change the way defenses cover Shakir. Defenses are already shading coverage to a WR, Diggs. If we had another Diggs on the outside it wouldn't change how defenses are covering our WRs...Shakir would still get single covered or still be tasked with finding the soft spot in the zones as he is now.
  2. I have an extra parking pass for official Bills lots for the Cowboys game, cost is $20 and can be sent via ticket master to your phone. Day of cost is $40.
  3. You literally said "A lot of players choose to stay on PS despite 53 man roster offers because they like their longer term outlook with the team they are on the PS with etc.." A LOT implies you are not just referring to exceptions my guy haha. Had you said "a handful" I wouldnt have had an issue. You are out here making it seem like PS guys are all just trying to stay there lol
  4. The practice squad IS full of guys who want to be on NFL rosters, they do not want to sit on practice squads. You are giving a rare scenario where a guy would choose not to leave his team in week 17 for one game check...and EVEN THEN I think Johnson jumps ship to play in a game because guess what?? He can come right back to Buffalos practice squad after they release him. Its the NFL, any chance to play in a game these guys take. Not just for the money, but if they get the chance to play in a real NFL game they get the chance to showcase their skills and maybe parlay that into a longer lasting contract. I cannot even believe this is a real conversation. Sure there are exceptions (getting onboarded on the practice squad until you get activated to the active roster)...but legit thinking a player would say "no thanks" to a teams active roster and choose to stay on a practice squad instead is one of more ridiculous things I think I have ever read on this board LOL Joe Marino from Locked on Bills also just touched on this topic in one of the eps of this weeks podcast and he basically said the same thing...players wouldnt say no to the active roster.
  5. I said nothing about press coverage...it is possible for DBs to play closer to the line of scrimmage (not give 10 yard cushions ala last year) and not play press coverage
  6. Simulated pressure is different than a blitz, and is what we have been doing pass rush wise and what I expect and am referring to. Frazier D last year rushed four, you knew what 4 were coming ,and the wrinkle was disguised coverage on the backend. Burrow ate that up. I expect sim pressure, married with disguised coverage and DBs closer to the line to slow their offense down. I did not mean we would be blitzing burrow often.
  7. You HONESTLY think AJ Klein would choose to stay on Buffalo's practice squad rather than sign to an active NFL roster? What is happening right now?
  8. Right. But other teams arent trying to sign Klein to their rosters, or Mancz, or even Fournette. No one is CHOOSING to stay on the practice squad instead of an active roster spot... I disagree. What player is choosing to stay on a practice squad over signing with an active roster of another team? That MAY BE the case for a one to two week time period where the team whose practice squad the guy is signed on has an agreement "we will activate you as soon as you learned the playbook" type deal. But its not like NFL practice squads are filled with guys choosing not to sign onto active NFL rosters lol
  9. yea, I know..thanks... it just doesn't happen and he was talking out of his a$$
  10. I know this is an option for them, but I don't think this is really ever done by a player. Do you know of specific cases where this has actually happened?
  11. Absolutely, And even when he's not run blitzing on passing downs he has been muddying up the pressure looks. It seems like people forget this is a way different looking defense than Fraziers. The results have sucked since the injuries but that doesn't change the fact of what they are TRYING to do. Also, the defense looked good for much of the Buc's game with the largely new look dime package (I realize they ran it a little the week before) being utilized. I trust McD history as a defensive coordinator that given time he will put together a solid defense even with all the injuries. He, and they, are figuring it out.
  12. Yea I didnt literally mean he was sitting on the couch, I am sure hes been keeping in shape, just as both noted...football shape is different. Although hearing Beane just now say he signed with Philly and played same week last year CERTAINLY changes my tune. Suit that MOFO up!
  13. No doubt to all of the above. I hope like hell he plays...we need those 15-20 snaps. I'm just doubting it based on "couch to football shape" and our cautious nature as an organization in general.
  14. I think McD saw how bend but dont break worked, or rather DIDN'T work the last time we played the Bengals and wont go that route...even if we don't have the horses to play the aggressive route perfectly. He has still been aggressive the past few weeks even after the injuries (the results have largely sucked but he hasn't given that up). Lou A did defend and confuse Allen and Dorsey last year, but its a new year with new pieces and hopefully answers from the Bills offense. And the Bengals D isn't the same either. A large piece of their coverage discipline and disguise was their safeties, both of whom now play elsewhere. The new guys can play, but their D has taken time to gel and they looked pretty good last week but they still aren't at the level of the playoffs last year. I don't think its a given that we struggle the same way. I think Kincaid has himself a DAY and will be that big game from another play besides Diggs you are seeking. I also see Cook continuing his string of solid performances. This is why they play the games!
  15. I see people saying "hes just a DT, just needs to occupy space, should be able to play as long as he comes in shape"... I HOPE he plays Sunday, same with Douglas, but im not optimistic on either. Being in shape and being in NFL football shape are way different. Assuming hes been lifting/running/taking care of himself, that is a long way from the physicality of an NFL game. Even if he only plays 15 snaps or so. I'd hate, and I am sure the bills staff is thinking about this, to lose our 3.7 million dollar "fix" at DT because we rushed him onto the field.
  16. Defensive gameplan: starts with the D-line, need to penetrate in the middle on both runs and passes. Need Ed to have a hell of a game SOMEONE else from the DT spot to step up. Cloud coverage on Chase. DBs will be up closer to the line (this has been the case with McD defense compared to Fraziers) and need to be "eyes to the QB" to slow down the quick hitting passes Burrow loves. Vary the pre snap looks both in pass rush and coverage. Id expect we see a decent amount of our newly loved dime packages with both Rapp and Poyer on the field. Force Burrow into as tough throws as possible and take some chances to create turnovers, even if it means giving up a big play. Offensive gameplan: execute. The gameplans have laregely been fine, we just need to execute. Josh needs to read coverage and live with the underneath/checkdown stuff that WILL be available. Josh also needs to run this game, Bengals give up a lot of rushing to QBs...hope his shoulder is up to it. Would love to see the uptempo stuff again this week, but admittedly will be harder on the road. I'd look for the uptempo to start after a first down on a drive, when the crowd is quietest. Take advantage of red zone opps. 50/50 game...can't make mistakes/turnovers.
  17. Well he was on the injury report the past two weeks so its not crazy to think he isn't getting better so they are going to shut him down until it does heal....OR, they are just gonna use this as an excuse to stash him on the IR and make room on roster for whatever DT they eventually sign
  18. tougher to use tempo on the road due to crowd noise...but the Bills have always been pretty good at using hand signals/silent communcation so it could still be utilized throughout different parts of the game (get a first down and then go up tempo because first downs kill crowd noise, etc.)
  19. sounds like your describing Fraziers defense over the past several years. McD, especially when we had our guys healthy, was amongst the most aggressive schemes in the league. He is having guys get after the QB, players play "down hill" and attack. They led the NFL in take aways through the first four weeks. They still lead the league in pressure and are 2nd in sacks (with 20 missed sacks by the way, 20!). This is very much a ball hawk and pass rush defense, its just been severely hampered due to the injuries and figuring out ways to cope and still be agressive...like having Poyer play LB in passing situations and have Rapp on the field in Po's spot.
  20. huh?? Last year Diggs had 7/92/1 TD and 7/104/1 TD in their games against the Pats Two years ago he had 7/85/1 TD and in the wind game he had 4/51 and 3/60 (not needed much in the perfect offensive game I guess) Three years ago he had 9/145/3 TD's and 6/92 Where exactly has BB been successful limiting Diggs?
