  1. They didn't mention that she was wearing waffle underwear.
  2. Saw Gilmore with no cast/club on. I have to agree with Bill. This guy is not showing enough talent to be the number one OR number two corner. I expect a lot more from EJ. We'll get six to eight wins, but I'm starting to lean to the six win goal.
  3. I gotta pick the bills to win this one. If Manuel is back? A little shocking that there would be unanimity on ESPN given both teams' records. Well..we'll know what's what after we play them. Go Bills.
  4. Kiko is a pretty darn serious contender for DROY, for sure. I'm not sure Manuel will get enough playing time to get into the mix, regardless of how well he plays, unless perhaps he pulls a playoff season out of what is left of the year. I'm happy with the new guys on this team who are making a name for themselves...including Manuel, Alonso, Woods, Robey, and others. We are in a good transition instead of treading water which has been our agenda for the last decade.
  5. C sounds like a good grade to me. It might have been higher except for the qb injuries, which we don't really control. Once Manuel is back, I suspect we might end up the year between B- and B.
  6. This whole thing is a mess. I'm just glad its the Dolphins mess and not the Bills' mess. I can't imagine Martin won't be back, assuming he's a good tackle prospect.
  7. This team does not suck. It is young and at the present time hampered by having its first two qb's out of commission. Had Tuel completed the one yard pass, put a little more on one long pass and a little less on another, had one not held on Bird's return for a touchdown, we'd have had a freaking blowout. The game was not hard to watch from a football point of view. The defense looked good, and the running game was very good. Tuel gave it all he had. I have been a bills fan since 1960 I know suck. I know Vern Bullough suck, Dick Jauron suck, Chan Gailey Suck, Kaye Stephenson suck and Joel Collier suck. Probably a few more sucks that I'm missing or have repressed. These guys are rebuilding and will get six or eight wins. They will go to the playoffs next year. A little patience please.
  8. Best 3-6 team...actually that is probably true. We have a lot of areas where we could improve. I've been the most pessimistic or one of them through the Gailey Nix era, but ironically I am pretty optimistic about the way we are going.
  9. yup...he's in decline. But even in decline he's pretty darn good. He's got a year or two left in him...and the Pats are probably starting to think about life after Brady.
  10. You hit the nail on the head on the blame part. Tuel's throw resulted in only seven points and there was still most of a half to play. We made mistakes and misjudgments, but looked pretty darn good (except for the crucial and heartbreaking fact that we lost the game). Well get our six to eight wins and be a playoff contender next year. This year will be a hit and miss season. Let's sit back and enjoy what we can and live with the growing pains.
  11. I agree with almost everything except Marrone. The pick six was poor execution by a rookie. I agree that Tuel just doesn't show arm strength enough yet to be an nfl qb but I see potential. Discount all those dropped passes and he looked ok. As usual bill you are spot on on the other points
  12. I worked at SUNY Brockport in the 90's when the ice hockey team was located down a public hall to the showers and after the games the players in towels rant a "gauntlet" of drunken female hockey fans to the showers. My son was the goalie on the team and they thought it was a real kick. All I could think of was when he was ten and would be humiliated if his mother walked in on him at the bathtub. I guess now the University would be all up in sexual harassment charges.
  13. very honorable man. Inspiring indeed. Remember those airmen who flew in Laos and Cambodia and never made it to rescue or to the Hanoi Hilton. I have worked with the children of members of my squadron trying to get an accounting for them.
  14. There is one caution here. The early take of most pundits is that this is the best qb class since 1983 (Elway, Kelly, Marino et al.) and if that is the case even I (who believe we need o-line and te help more than anything, would have to give serious thought to drafting any stellar prospect that might fall our way (Elway, Kelly, Marino) and I think right now that is Johnny Football and maybe this Bridgewater guy if they last that long. I would be surprised if that should happen.
  15. I was at the last Kelly game, and through that season he was not at his best by any means. He left with a buy out. Montana was not at his best in those last years either. I remember seeing him in the playoff game in buffalo (probably the coldest I have ever been at any football game) where he was darn near killed by Bills linebackers. I don't mean they were awful, but they were on a serious downward spiral.
  16. Kind of a lose-lose choice. Either Lewis who is not one hundred percent or Tuell. If its Lewis the O-line and Tight Ends had better block their hearts out and the coach might want to put a primarily blocking fullback/tight end into the backfield. The guy is going to need help in execution and strength on the line of scrimmage, in the receivers getting open quickly, in the running game coming on strong, and in the offensive strategy the coaches devise. It is a challenge, but not insurmountable. If it were insurmountable there wouldn't be any point in playing the game.
  17. Wow...they are lot better looking than the cabin attendants I've seen flying lately. I spent some time in Eastern Europe flying Aeroflot and other third world planes and the cabin attendants looked like the Olympic men's weightlifting team....and they were female!
  18. I know we have lots of Brady haters here, but even though I'm not a Brady hater, I have come to the conclusion that he is on the downward side and I would be surprised if he starts more than a year or two. Look at the greats who played a little too long at the fair, Jim Kelly, Joe Montana (with Kansas City), and many others. This isn't a game for the longest term and the quarterbacks are taking worse and worse beatings. It would be a good time for the Pats to be seeking the qb of the future.
  19. We have a quarterback in waiting in EJ. Unless he poops the bed in the games he plays the rest of the season I would think the brain trust would ask the question: "Why are our various quarterbacks getting sacked, hurried and hurt so often? and might come up with the answer: "Because big fast ugly guys are pounding the hell out of them before they can complete passes." That being the case, I suspect we might finally realize that we have to protect any quarterback who comes in. Dan Darragh and Brett Farvre look pretty much equal when they are lying on their back, iced up on the bench, or on injured reserve.
  20. Lewis or Tuell. They are part of the future of the team and at least know the playbook. Flynn isn't in the cards long term and doesn't really provide much in the short term. He's not a quick study given his inability to stay long with the most recent teams he has played for and his good playing experience with green bay was after he had considerable experience with the team as a backup.
  21. Is it just me..or are we spending WAY too much time on this thread. I go to the rest room...pxss or shxt...and get the hell out.
  22. The excuse is not that we are beat up. If we get beat it will be because we are not as good.Simple as that. We are no more beat up than every other team. The qb? One rookie qb who we are not sure about versus Lewis, who is ok if we can protect him. Betting folks are quite rightly betting against us. Me, I think we have some remarkable talent and if the coaching is great...who knows? I'll be rooting for the bills with my heart, but my head is telling me we aren't ready for the elite teams yet.
  23. One more example of the maxim that great football teams are built from the trenches back. Don't think upcoming opponents aren't noticing this problem and will take advantage of the weakness. Particularly Kansas City and next week. Sounds like there is a lot of work to be done before KC.
  24. Surprised at Woods lower score. He's been pretty good in my opinion. I got a kick out of comparing Alonso with other LB's drafted in the second round. The guy is a real find.
  25. All in all, saints are a much more talented and experienced team, but we are a much better team than last year, even given the injuries. The team is gutsy and will take its lumps this year especially from teams like the saints. That being said I'm still going to pull for six to eight wins. The playoffs will be ours next year.
