  1. Don't need to be famous, but needs to be SOMEWHAT competent. Where were these guys? There's a reason why most of us have never heard of 'em. So, until they show me something, I'll choose to believe that the coaching choices are FAIL.

They aren't competent in your mind, why? You say they don't need to be famous and then the next line you speak of their needing to be somewhat competent and there's a reason why we haven't heard of them.

Point 1: You seem to tie their competency into their Q rating. So it seems for you they need to have

name recognition in order to gain your respect. Which is an inaccurate way to judge any of these coaches.

I would say the fact that they have been coaches in professional football or major college football would

speak to their competency. There are many coaches in the world. They haven't gotten as far as they have

    because they are bad coaches.

Point 2: Yeah, the reason you haven't heard of them is because they are assistant coaches. Name us the

assistant coaches on Pete Carroll's staff in Seattle or Jacksonville's. Quick what about the 49ers or the

Broncos. BTW, do it without going to their team sites and looking it up. Unless you are in the world of pro

football you probably wouldn't know any coach except ones who are pointed out to you by the media during

a game or in "rumored" reports of HC jobs or Coordinator jobs.

  2. He's worth a 5th round pick or Marshawn straight up AND THAT IS IT. Sure he has skills, but he's aging and also made out of tape and balsa wood. Not worth sacrificing our future for 2 years (if he dosen't get killed) of QB play. Lets face it, the Buffalo Bills are not there yet. Maybe we are good enough to get into the playoffs, but we definately are not winning the SB in the next two seasons.

It kills me how quickly people are willing to trade away young potential for aging talent. Anyone remember Bledsoe?

What young potential? You don't know what you get with the 2nd round pick. You know what you get with McNabb. And the Bills need a QB, no? There are many ways to wheel and deal through the draft. If they give up a 2nd whose to say they won't acquire another one from another deal?

  3. Not sure if the Bills are in a position to acquire an aging QB. I'd rather seem them spend the picks on rebuilding. If the Bills were an 8-8 team, I'd say yes. but we were a 6-10 team, that played like a 2-14 team.

Sure, the Cardinals did well with Warner. But the Cardinals had a solid O-Line, an incredible tandem of primary and secondary receivers and a play making defense.

The Bills were 6-10 true enough. But if you review the season, if they had any type of offense,

they could have been 10-6. Even with that horrible line. QB was a big reason for their troubles.

If they were to give up a 2nd rounder McNabb should be better than that second rounder.

  4. Seems that Cleveland made a tone of moves last year so Mangina could get all of "his" guys in there. A bunch of trades/cuts would probably serve us well.

    Here goes nothing...

Assuming we pick up a stop gap QB [McNabb (long shot) Vick/Cambell] get what you can for Trentative and cut ties with Fitz(don't thik he'll garner much in the way of a trade)...kepp Brohm and draft our future Franchise QB.

Other trade bait could be Lynch (2rd rd pick, at least a 3rd); McGee (mid round pick, maybe another 3rd); Whitner (more like a 4th rd pick).

Entertain these potential UFA's: Willie Parker, Chris Chambers, Casey Hampton & Karlos Dansby

and finally...(ArmChair GM Mock Draft 1.0)

    Rd 1 (9)

Anthony Davis, LT; Rutgers. 6'6" 325lb, multi year starter at left tackle

    Rd 2 (41)

Terrence Cody, DL (NT); Alabama. BEAST of a human being, the guy may be situational, but is a one man run stopping machine. Who else do you know that weighs 370 lb @ 6'4" and can dunk a basketball (testament to his explosiveness)

*(if we get a 2nd rd 2 pick via trade...Jordan Shipley will take the place of Reed, probably a major upgrade)

*I also like Darryl Washington, ILB; TCU. But, he's a bit small for the middle, only around the 240lb range.

    Rd 3

Dan LeFevour, QB; CMU. Prototypical NFL QB size, very mobile...the Tim Tebow of the MAC wih a better arm. Rediculous stats, including a couple/few NCAA records.

*A.J. Edds' stock is rising because of a great showing at the Sr. Bowl. He always seemed to be at the right place at the right time to make a play. Plus, I saw him blow up a couple lineman.

    Rd 4

Ciron Black, OT; LSU. Another monster. 51 consecutive starts, 40 @ LT. They moved him to guard at the Sr. Bowl and he destroyed people. He's also the son of a preacher man & an outstanding team oriented guy.

*Brandon Carter, OG; TX Tech. everything I've seen about this kid is intriguing. 6'5" 325, quick feet, good punch, rediculous athleticism. Knocks are he comes out of the 3 pt stance too low and loses his balnce easily nd tends to lean into 2nd level blocks...very coachable, big upside.

    Rd 5

Freddie Barnes, WR; Bowling Green St. 6' 212 lbs. Solid guy with exceptional hands and is a very crisp route runner. Lacks that flashy speed, but so does a bunch of high profile WR's in the NFL

    Rd6(A)

Myron Rolle, SS; FSU. 6'2" 217lbs. Quick kid with great range...he's also a friggn Rhodes Scholar.

    Rd6(B)

Joique Bell, RB: Wayne State. 5'11" 223lbs. Kids in the top 15-25 in every RB category for NCAA records. Runs low, hard to bring down & above average pass blocker. Sounds like a perfect short yardage/3rd down/goaline back to me. We've had luck with small school rushers, ie. Freddie J.

    Rd7

Aaron Pettrey, K; OSU. Ehhhh, he's a kicker, a pretty good one at that. Gets the ball up and has good accuracy. Practice Squad the kid until Lindel ships out.

    Let the flaming begin... :)

Myron Rolle won't be close to the 6th round. LOL... I'd say he goes in round 2 at the latest. If he had come out last year he would have been in the 1st round.

  5. I was watching some kind pre game something on NFL Network today and there was footage of Deion Sanders arriving at a game in a Lamborgini...can you imagine Fred Jackson doing that? Or how about Byrd pulling a Jamarcus Russell and bragging about his Rolls Royce? There are some things we would not accept from our players which is representative of the area they represent.

What would be wrong with rolling up to a game in a Lamborghini or talking about a Rolls Royce. Has nothing to do with anything. Do you know what kind of car Fred drives? No? Because it doesn't matter and has nothing to do with anything. Whether you "accept" it or not.

  6. What the hell does "look really qualified" mean anyway? The fact that they worked for Failey in one of the worst NFL franchises or a mediocre NCAA program? Nix on down is a joke. Brashness is good when you back it up. Ryan Leaf was "brash." I anticipate similar levels of success.

Most coaches who are hired by any team have no name recognition beyond professional or collegiate coaching circles. The only reason you or me have heard of any assistant coach is because the media pointed them out. The Bills stunk the past three years and a lot of their fired coaches were hired quickly by other teams. Unless you are in coaching circles in the professional or college ranks the bottom line is you have no idea what you're talking about and neither do the rest of us. The proof will come in September. And I like Nix. He has done what he said he would do so far. So what makes him a joke?

  7. I hope they never bring Vick here that will be the end of this proud franchise

Give us a break. The Bills have been a BAD to mediocre football team for the

past decade. No playoffs. I want the players who give them the best chance

to win. If that's Vick, and he is better than any QB currently on the roster, then

so be it. The dogs he killed are not coming back. He was rightfully convicted.

Served his time. It's over. Let it go.

  8. One thing that's been clear throughout the Senior Bowl practices is that Mike Iupati has solidified himself as the #1 interior offensive lineman in this years draft. How would you guys feel if the Bills nabbed him with the #9 pick?

Mayock today stated he thinks Iupati has solidifed his spot in the top 20 in the 2010 draft so #9 would seem a bit of a reach, but not a huge one.

I for one would love to solidify the offensive line, and this guys seems thick, strong and solid. Some GM's, as well as Mayock think he's capable of playing RT or LT because he has long arms and has the athleticism to make the switch. Personally I like drafting guys to play the postions they played in college to lessen the learning curve at the pro level, but his versatility can only add to his value.

Perhaps Levitre could move to LT, or Wood could move to center opening up a G spot for Iupati. An interior line of Iupati, Wood, and Levitre (from right to left) would be young and nasty.

The ideal situation, if we were to pick Iupati would be a trade down into the teens, but the question is how would you guys feel if we stood pat and picked him at #9?

A little write up from Nolan Nawrocki of ProFootballWeekly.com on Iupati for those who aren't as familiar with him:

    http://www.profootballweekly.com/2010/01/2...sical-abilities

You don't draft a guard that high. And you don't draft a guy that high to move him to another position. If they go LT they should take a guy who has played LT and been successful. You want him in the bottom of the first round or second round, go ahead.

  9. It really is as bad as saying blacks are not intelligent enough to play QB or that whites are not agile enough to play the skill positions. Treat people as individual cases, not as statistical probabilities. In the case of Ralph Wilson, age isn't the reason for his incompetence at managing the football side of his business. Ralph's been screwing things up in that area since he was in his 50's.

And the funny thing is that at 91 the man has built multiple businesses that are worth near a billion dollars. His football operations might be lacking, but his business sense has served him well.

  10. The fact of the matter is this: Those of us screaming out our rage against Michael Vick and his cohorts are the same people screaming about the atrocities being perpetrated to humans around the globe. Those of you defending Michael Vick and trying to spin this against us are the same people who NEVER get involved in ANY advocacy of ANY kind, either for humans OR animals. You're not fooling anybody.

You can't say this as a fact. Some people defend Michael Vick because they are fans of the Bills; a football organization whose mission is to win football games. Vick is a better QB than any on the current roster, no matter what people want to make up to say otherwise. He might be able to help the Bills win more football games than the current lineup of QB's and should therefore be considered for the roster. Some people defend Vick because the man was tried, convicted and served his time for his criminal actions. I fall into both camps. And I have been a member of Amnesty International for years and work with foster youth on weekly basis. I don't see how, in a system designed for rehabilitation, no one wants to allow rehabilitation to take place.

  11. Not to offend anyone...but when the story first broke, a number of athletes, and commentators made the statement that there was, and always has been, a large dog fighting culture in many southern states. I think some people were, honestly, shocked by how offensive this whole thing was, because they had been around it all of their lives. HBO ran a piece on Real Sports about the dog fighting scene in the deep south, and explained that it had strong roots to the days of slavery, when slaves would gather, after hours, in plantation farm houses, and pit dogs against one another, as entertainment.

Some slave owners used to put their actual slaves into pit as well to fight as entertainment.

  12. I agree that he has served some time for the crimes, and he has a right to move on with his life. But I do not think it should be in the NFL, and I will not support or spend money on any team that employees someone like him. Personal choice yes, but its allot more than letting dogs fight each other or torturing and killing the animals in my opinion.

That's the problem. You don't know who is employed by any team or company in any walk of life. Michael Vick isn't a new phenomenon. Bernie Madoff worked for someone at some point. We could go on and on. Just because you don't hear of something doesn't mean something isn't going on within a company. Where do you draw the line? You don't think it should be in the NFL why? He served his time. He has to work somewhere. If people in the NFL are willing to hire him and he has the skills to work there what's the issue?

  13. Fair enough he is a midpack QB. Is that even an upgrade from Trent or Fitzy considering the baggage he brings?

And for Tebow I would love him on the Bills..... As our version of Tim Rathman or Mike Alscott. Line him up in the Wildcat from time to time. Just don't let him take a snap from under center and don't draft him before the fourth round...

Yes, he's an upgrade. He's accomplished more than either of the QB's we have combined. There is no baggage he brings if people don't create any.

  14. Fired Jan 6.Chiefs. His O-line gave up FORTY-FIVE SACKS last year. What a teacher??

How good was the Bills line last year? Is that Kugler's fault or the fault of talent evaluators who fielded the team? Did they have injuries? Did the QB hold the ball too long? Charles ran for 1500 yards. Their line wasn't all bad. Step down off the ledge.

  15. Chief fans seemed VERY happy to rid themselves of Joe D’Alessandris.

    That makes me reaaaaaaaaalllyyy nervous.

And Giants fans could say the same about us and Fewell or Steelers fans about us and Kugler and on and on... Nobody is ever happy when their team isn't winning. They are mad D'Alessandris after their RB ran for 1500 yards? Hmmmmm... It doesn't make me nervous at all. Let's be real. 98 percent of this board don't know one coach from the other and never heard of any of the coaches on any team except for a very precious few. All that 98 percent knows is what is told to them from message boards (other people who don't know) or the media. If a report comes out through a recognizable reporter that this is a great staff everybody would do backflips and change their tune. If these same reporters say it's terrible everyone will complain even more. The true test is the games and how the team performs. As well as the FA period and the draft. Those are the biggest two things. Coaching is important, but players are more important.

  16. I've been preaching it all last year and this year. He's one of the very best corners in the league. So underrated. The guy rarely gets beat. I just knew the Bills were going to let him go and resign McGee. It's how this stupid team always does things. They let the better player go, then resigned the inferior player for more money.

McGee is not an inferior player at all.

I don't see any UFA FB's better than McIntyre on this list.

McClain is better. See his Pro Bowl appearance. Richardson is better. See his multiple Pro Bowl appearances. And watch

their games. McClain is a bigger threat in the running game. Richardson is a more consistent blocker.

  19. Bolded guys are the one's I think the Bills should look at.
