  1. The officials were way too involved in the game.  If the Bills weren't the team playing I would have turned to a different

game because the constant flags are unwatchable.  There were a lot of tacky-tack calls against both teams.  It's a

football game.  People will get touched.

That said, the Bills let an easily winnable game slip through their fingers because of a lame offensive output.  They

lacked energy and execution.  That's not on Dorsey.  That's on players on the field.

He was routinely targeted, routinely beat, and routinely frustrated.

Some fans thought he was a healthy scratch in previous games simply because Benford is better.

Yeah, Benford is better… but Elam is also a bad player.

    They’re not mutually exclusive.

There were times he was in the receivers pocket too, and Jackson was the one getting cooked.

He actually did a lot of good things last season.  He was definitely uneven today.  We'll see if next
week brings more consistency.  He has to play in order to find out.  One game samples mean

nothing,  whether he played good, bad or meh.  Re-visit what Elam is or isn't in a few weeks.

Emotional posts after a loss like that isn't doing anyone any justice.

I honestly don't know how the stadium is gonna cost 1.5 billion.

The Vikings stadium was 1.1 billion and that's way better.

Different monetary values from 2016 to 2023.

Building in Minnesota isn’t building in New York.

It’s a different design.  It’s a beautiful building.  Better is yet to be determined.

I don’t think there is a single Bills fan making the determination whether to watch them on TV, or attend a game, based upon what helmet they wear.  There’s no revenue in retro helmets, and the Bills jerseys of the 90s are so similar to today’s that people aren’t going to buy them either.

The sole change I would like to see is the elimination of the red combo…but people buy those red jerseys so…

Keep them available in the store.  Folks will still buy them because some folks will buy anything different or new.  But the team doesn’t have to wear them for sales to keep going.  The red combo needs to be put away, especially if they are blocking  better uni combinations.

The one team that needs to go back to their old uniforms full time is Seattle. Those uniforms looked great. What they have now blows.

I actually dig their current unis but the throwbacks look better.  Often less  is more. Those unis pop.

Good discussion here with Dan Patrick. What do you guys think? I think there is a good chance he doesn’t make the 53 and gets cut.

The Bills drafted him, he has starting experience and he’s a young player who can still improve.  If he’s able to mentally continue getting past what happened I don’t see him getting beat out by by players who couldn’t beat him out before.  He’s not physically unhealthy.

Maybe Benford is just the real deal.

I still believe it’s the tackling that separates him from Elam - at the moment.

But it’s possible he’s just a better corner.

Elam did some good things when he played last season.  I think they have two good, young CB’s.    Benford playing safety in college definitely shows up in how he attacks the run.

No none of Allen, Mahomes or Burrow has as much combined OL and receiving talent as Hurts.    That's not even particularly debatable.   Bills and Chiefs have mediocre weapons(around 20th best in the NFL) and the Bengals have had bad offensive lines every year under Burrow.

Hurts is set up.........but 14th in TD passes and 10th in passing yardage doesn't "eyeball test" as elite to me.   Brock Purdy was set up to put up huge efficiency numbers  with the leagues best overall group of playmakers and an excellent offensive line too.   I don't think Purdy is elite either, do you?   Did he pass the eyeball test to you because he had more yards per attempt,  a higher QB rating and a higher QBR than Hurts all in a pretty good portion of a full season?   If it only being one season causes you pause remember that Jalen Hurts was not very good his first two seasons in the NFL.

We’ll see which one of us is right soon enough.  🤷🏾‍♂️

We will see.  He had a future All Pro cast of receivers at Alabama and wasn't a prolific passer and was ultimately benched for Tua.   With the 2nd best 1-2 punch last year at WR......behind Miami and with Jamar Chase missing so much time in Cinci.......Jalen Hurts threw for just 22 TD's.    I think he has a lot of intangibles and a supporting cast that greatly simplifies his job........but circumstances change..........and I just don't know if he can expand the field the way guys like Mahomes and Allen can or dissect a secondary with precision like Burrow.   And those are ultimately the standards.

Alabama was a while ago.  He overcame that adversity,  kept working and did well at Oklahoma.  He’s better now than when he came into the league.  I don’t dock players fr having talent around them.  Allen has Diggs and he’s better after having Diggs than he was before Diggs.  Mahomes and Burrow have as much talent playing with them.

We’ll see if Hurts continues to improve and stay consistent but he passes the eye test.

You say that as though you know my profession… I can tell you they’re the same in that salaries are set by market pressure in what I do as well. IMO, if what’s out there about what he wants and what he was offered is true, he’s getting some bad advice from his agent. The market for RBs is not uptrending, and while a 4M difference is obviously a lot of money, he’s not likely to get a better offer next season and he’s likely to lose out on more than that in the long run.

Fair enough.   But does your profession come with the same physical risks?

I agree he’s not likely to get what his talent level and impact deserves.  Realistically, Barkley is already a rich young man so this comes down to principle.   How far is he willing to go for principle?  Me?  I don’t show up until November.  I’m not letting the Giants use me up and underpay me.  I’d accrue my season in the final six weeks and then maneuver my way out of there.   If II have to be underpaid it won’t be from that organization.

The Giants offered him $26 mil for two.  He wanted $16 mil per.  Dumb decision for RB’s these days.  Did he not learn anything from Bell.

RB’s just don’t seem to want to accept their reality.  I’m sorry for the Giants though as I’m quietly rooting for Daboll and Schein.

Hell have to come around.  He has zero leverage.

A bit less wear and tear on his body for an organization that doesn’t value him is worth holding out for.  He should only come in for the last 6 games and get his accrued season.  I wouldn’t even communicate with them until the week before I come in.  I would make nothing easy for that organization going forward.

Publicly they continue to say he isn't for trade, but apparently privately they would be open to it under the right circumstances...allegedly.

If this report is true, what do you think the "right circumstances" would be?

This report strikes me as not true.  The cap hits would be untenable.

Love the color of the helmet and its style...as far as the logo goes, I like the refresh, but I would say its good but could have been better.

Overall though, I think the new helmet is a win and I dig it.  I would love to see a helmet with Bills colors using this style of base paint myself personally.

That’s an old secondary logo they put on that helmet.

This season’s schedule is setting up to be a grind. Fans need to be ready for a tough hard fought schedule. It’s very possible the Bills go  9-8 or 10-7 and sneak in as a wild card.

BUT I think it’s their best roster and they can do a lot of damage once they get in.

I hear you - it does seem like a tough schedule.  However, the Bills have won 37 games the past 3 seasons, only second to the Chiefs.   The current roster, on paper, is better than those teams.  They have a top 5 QB in the league.  If they finish below 11 wins they had long term injuries at the wrong positions or inexplicably lacked focus and urgency.

Tough competition doesn’t mean better competition.  The Bills are better than most of the teams they will play outside of KC, Cincinnati and Philly; and I believe they are even with the regular season version of KC.  The Bengals, at this point, are better.   A healthy Tre, Hyde, Miller and Jones could easily change that equation though.  That Philly game will be a mosh pit, but the Bills talent is equal to Philly if the additions on both lines show up.

I’m so glad they play the Jets week one on national TV.   A point needs to be made.  That last payoff game left a bad taste in everybody’s mouth, but don’t overreact.  The Bills are a serious threat for the Lombardi schedule be damned.

I've thought of Murphy fairly often. It's weird to me that there has been zero information given by anyone about him. Same with Kim until Jessie pretty much laid everything out. Get well Murph. And Kim. Today had to be such a weird day for Terry and family. Such emotion at the ground breaking chilled by the absence of those two.

He and his family might have requested that no info is shared.
