If we’re going to spend on a RB, I’m to the point where it’s go big or go home.

A Miles Sanders signing with his contract would have been maddening, but I can talk myself into Derrick Henry for a couple years.

Just not sure what we’d be getting when our entire OL philosophy is based on pass blocking and athleticism …. But those light boxes though….

I think we’d get a ton of RPO’s.   I’d hate to be the defender having to make that decision.  If the O-line is even just decent,  Henry would  be trouble.

    Bad mojo?

What are we doing here of course we want him to come back.

First of all we know as a 2nd year player he was at worst a good backup to Hyde - he was ok - safeties take some time - See Poyer and Hyde as proof.

Second, his presence means something bigger now. “That’s the guy that died on the field out here battling with us.”

I mean if people don’t get this I don’t know.  So long as Hamlin is a class dude (and by every indication he is) he’s the farthest thing from bad mojo or anything like that.  If he was constantly making things about “me” that’s different you better be elite if you’re like that.

But he seems like the guy you want on your team - the death on the field experience elevates him and that should only enhance this team’s chemistry.  And they’re going to need it because they’re going to be seriously challenged this season.

What some people need to say is that they are scared if he plays it might happen to him again.   He’s a bad memory they don’t want to be reminded of.  Just say that and stop saying he isn’t good or whatever.  That’s nonsense.  He’s an inconsistent, young player like most young players are.  Does so good things.  Does some bad things.

If doctors clear him (and he will have gone through extensive tests) there’s no reason he shouldn’t be able to play if he wants to.    If doctors don’t sign off he won’t be playing even if he disagrees with their assessments.

Not a good player, and is a major health risk

I'd wish him well and let him know that we will be releasing him

Players have to grow.  He’s still early in career.   Hyde and Poyer, in year 2, were nothing like they are now.

if they had an individual owner who wanted to move the team to a bigger market, I'm sure they could get the votes needed

Depends on the politicians in place.  New York State won’t make it easy for an owner to take those tax dollars and on the federal level,  threats against  anti-trust exemptions would slow that roll.

Ultimately, relocation could be a possibility in theory but it will be a lot messier than the NFL might want to deal with.  An expansion would be easier than relocating the Bills with a new to new-ish stadium having been built and a media recognized, world-wide fan base.  Our fan base, today, is just as prominent as the Bills are in a way we weren’t even 10 years ago (because of social and 24 hour sports media).  Bills Mafia is a character in the production of professional football now.

Attempting to relocate  would be ugly for that owner and the league, internationally, politically and possibly, legally.

No, he was plenty easy to trade before based on his current contract, this makes him all the harder for the Bills to absorb the money to trade him as it accelerates what he would cost on our cap.  He’s now here for this year, bar none, no way around it.

He’s here for the next 2 or 3 years.  I think his cap hits elevate after the restructure.

Keep in mind that only a certain amount of the salaries count towards the cap. We always seem to forget that this time of year.

Can Lewis is a pretty good back up

And the first time or punter shanked a kick you to be screaming why we didn’t address that position correctly

    This isn’t madden we’re building a team

Lewis made a couple mistakes in a game so he’s terrible at all times now, haven’t you heard?  You don’t watch the games.  /s 🙄

We’ve seen this scene before a pro bowl qb heads to the other conference with a great defense…skill talent…and Nate Hackett calling the plays. This will end badly for Aaron as the line he has in New York is way worse then the line he’s leaving in Green Bay

Games that count start in September.  Plenty of time for the Jets to improve the talent level on their roster.

They wouldn’t pay Roquan but signed two guys today

They have a lot of money to spend and need players at that position.  Roquan wasn’t happy.  At a certain point I don’t think he wanted to be there anymore.

Agree with multiple weapons and offensive line upgrades…. Big assets into the RB position is a wasted endeavor…. As is controlling the clock. Scoring a lot of points with big plays is what the Bills seem to want to do and I think it’s the right move to build on that.

Big assets is another relative term.   What is big or too much?  Depends on the running back.

Controlling the ball doesn’t mean they abandon the pass.  It means they need to play better situational football.    There are times when being able to run will help them.    I think Josh Allen can be more of a nightmare by having to do less.  Big plays will still be there because he’s that type of QB.

It’s just incredibly underwhelming to me. What if Bijan is there? What about Zach Charbonnet in the 2nd? Or Kendre Miller in the 3rd? Shoot I’d rather we keep Singletary over this guy, it’s maddening.

Can you guarantee Bijan is there when the Bills pick?  Or any of the other players you mentioned?   All those players are very good.   They all could go before the Bills have a chance at them.

Maybe Beane sees Williams as a good player who provides an element they need, at a price point that leaves him with enough resources to grab good players at other positions of need.     These moves aren’t made in a vacuum.

Yea… as long as it doesn’t mean blowing their wad on more useless defensive resources.

Useless is relative in this context.   They will conceivably need to replace Poyer and Edmunds.

That said, to me, Mueller’s statement means they need to find a way to score points and control the rock.   That means offensive line upgrades and resources into the skill positions including RB.    That’s how teams will beat the Jets D;  multiple weapons and an ability to run.  With Rodgers that’s what the Jets offense will be able to do.

It is surprising the owners couldn’t come to a consensus given he was robbing them cooking the books on stadium sales etc.

Youd think the owners would be drueling over Bezos as an owner.  Between the owner of Amazon and the owners of Wal-Mart, the league as to be happy.

That assumes they don’t have their own dirty laundry that Snyder might put in the street if they try to force him out.

If the Bills can’t handle the Jets, this whole thing needs to be reassessed.

The Jets D is legit.  They have excellent talent at the skill positions and a lot of youth.  Last year the Bills didn’t “handle” them.   They were both very competitive games.   If the Jets get good QB play consistently they will be a problem.

Randy Mueller’s tweet doesn’t bother me at all.   I hope he’s hearing things in his NFL circles.   The Bills cannot stay static this off-season.

    100% agreement.

Dawkins and White are the only viable big cap hit candidates. Really don’t see Milano being restructured; if anything he warrants more money via an extension and we’ll with Diggs being restructured just 2 years ago I find that will be a tough task to ask again. Had we made a Super Bowl or won a Lombardi? Totally different.

Why would he care?  He still gets the same money.  He’d just get it sooner.  Most folks would like to get their money sooner than later.

I am wondering if there are any DC candidates that can be complimentary to McDermott and/or provide some additional insight and strength to the staff.

What about Jerod Mayo? Any other DC candidates that are intriguing?

As has been said by others, crappy connections from the Carolina Panthers and then Ken Dorsey as the leader of the offensive coaching staff leaves more than a lot to be desired.

In any well-run business, the current leader is also preparing a successor. Maybe that was meant to be Daboll, but we need top coordinators just like we need a better offensive line.

3 coaches with Defensive Coordinator experience are already on staff.  And they are familiar with McDermott’s defensive principles.

Kissing a woman doesn’t mean he isn’t gay or even that he’s into women.  He could be in performance mode  trying to cover his true sexuality.    I used to think the same thing you did until the day one of my friends came out.  And he was that friend who always had a beautiful woman with him.

You left one thing off - tailgating

The outcry from fans who cherish tailgating more than anything doomed a downtown stadium.

I think that was a consideration that would not have been much of one if building downtown could have been done without years of environmental impact studies and needing to relocate residents. In short, if it wouldn’t be overly costly and subject to legal challenges delaying it.

I wanted the new joint downtown but it is what is.

For now they show up but I have a feeling many are going to be priced out of the new stadium. There isn't enough hardcore fans to support the prices that come with a new stadium. They need to attract those non-fans.

I doubt there’s that many non-football fans to get in the area.  The fans that choose not to go to games now probably will when the drunk and fighting contingent is marginalized.  The stadium will be smaller too.  I don’t think crowds will be an issue.

If you look around at most stadiums in all sports, it's less about the game and more about the amenities in the stadium.

What amenities do you want that the new stadium won’t have?   The reason stadiums are less about the game is because teams are trying to attract non-fans or fans that have multiple other entertainment options in a large city.   Most Bills fans actually show up to watch a football  game.  The need in Nashville and Chicago or L.A. is not the need in Buffalo, Green Bay or Kansas City, etc.
