  1. With Lattimores decision today to declare for the draft, what are your thoughts on the selection of Lattimore this yr with an eye towards the future and a Clemson/Carolina backfield for yrs to come? For those not aware, Lattimore probably will not play in 2013 due to a nasty cheapshot that dislocated his knee and tore his lcl in october.
  2. awesome, 2 games into his career and here comes the bullsh!t. Hes a rookie and we are very thin at corner, so please give it a rest. Would you rather Leodis play outside!?!?!? I know i wouldnt.
  3. Its more a comparison in the fact that we got something out of a guy that had been cast off. Also, the bigger point would be that its a talented player that could possibly be acquired for peanuts. So IF we claimed him and it worked out, it would be a very shrewd move. I know all about McClain, as a matter of fact, I was one if the people completely against drafting him so high when so many here were salivating all over his jock. However, getting unceremoniously benched/cut has a way of motivating a guy. The idea is to use that and tap into that potential, but if he turns out ti be a bum, it costs us nothing.
  4. Both Curry and McClain would be worth looking in to, at this point neither is considered a commodity so the price tag should be relatively low. Best case scenario is they turn out as well as Urbik hasn worst case is they suck for real and we give em the Morrison treatment.
  5. Well, Stevie compensates for his lack of speed with exceptional route running. Fitz otoh does nothing exceptional, aside from throwing back breaking ints at crucial moments. He is late delivering the ball, has awful ball placement, and the worst downfield accuracy in the league, which is in no way aided by his minimal arm strength.
  6. so as he"s being spun down and falling to the ground he has enough body control and awareness to kick shaub in the beanbag? Sorry, i dont buy it. like i said before if it were anyone else, like watt for example, it wouldnt have gotten the press that it has.
  7. really, it is crazy that ya'll think this was intentional. looks like an accident to me, if ot were anyone else this wouldnt be talk about
  8. It goes back longer than you might think, 2nd rd qbs haves an appx. success rate of 33%, but if you dig even deeper, success rate is equivalent to being a consistent starter, not a playoff game winner, and certainly not a SB Winner. The place to get QBs, if you want SUSTAINED success, is the 1st rd. It's a 50/50 shot, and the Scouting Dept has to be on point, but thats the answer, first rd or bust (slight pun intended). one of the only recent exceptions of course would be Drew Brees, who if you recall, was not exactly lighting it up with SD before he was allowed to leave for nothing VIA free agency (due to a shoulder injury that could've ending his then sputtering career).
  9. A bit Unrealistic to think teo slips that far, but I like the pick if it were to play out that way. Jones in the 2nd is solid, he has a very desirable skill set, but I wouldn't expect him to start from day 1, probably half way thru the season if not the following year. 3rd rd is where I got lost, I understand the need for more pass rushers, even with the big investments we made this past year, however, I think a receiver, specifically a bigger 6'3" or taller with speed guy would be better for us. Back to JOnes vs. Wilson, I have come to the conclusion, in part due to past history, that wilson is very much a by product of Petrinos system, looking at last yrs #'s and performances vs. this yr, it gives me pause. I can't help but remember Brohm, Lefors, and cantwell and think maybe wilson falls closer to that group.
  10. Let me clarify, the knock on Moore has always been his deficiency as a run defender. He has displayed the traits one looks for in a pass rusher, however, until now that potential jas not been fulfilled. The coaching staff kept him over Merriman because of that potential, and now, finally he is showing glimpses of becoming that guy. Is he elite?no, does he have an extensive resume that indicates his recent success is sustainable? No. but if given the choice between labeling him a "stout run defender" or "pass rush specialist" I would choose the latter The kid has talent, thats all im saying
  11. Well,, he's a pass rush specialist for a reason, he's always been a liability vs the run.
  12. Chan is so sneaky even he doesnt know whats he's gonna do next...
  13. Sometimes it takes a while for the proverbial "light" to come on. Stevie, Urbik, etc are a cpl examples. Not saying he's great by any means but he's showing some promise
  14. Offensively, we got what we wanted...more spiller, but Chan still cant call a full game. Defensively, we FINALLY get a decent pass rush and look at the results... sacks, ints and a much needed win. Im not gonna jump the gun here and say the D turned the corner, but this performance does give me hope
  15. Hard to believe Moore bounced around for 5 yrs before landing in buffalo. He def has some good pass rush moves.
  16. With Fitz its all about ball placement, IMO, we all know he cant throw it deep accurately, but in addition to that, on the short and intermediate routes he doesnt often put the ball in a place that allows the reciever to run after catch. Whether its low, behind, high, he rarely leads his reciever enough.
  17. I think the loss of petrino has affected wilson more than anything else. He worries me in that regard, given the history of petrino QBs
  18. skill sets and phy. stature compares to mike vick favorably. As a redshirt freshman he just launched himself into the heisman conversation.
  19. Geno Smith, Teo, or the best WR, thats my best guess for our top pick @#6 if thats where we pick.
  20. not that important, a hit is nice, but tackles matter more. QB hit means his guy did his job enough to prevent a sack, or he couldnt get passed his blockers so he took a cheap shot on the QB, whichever way you want to look at it.
  21. http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=321104034 Nope, it was a close race, but Mario came out on top today
  22. Its consistent with this fan base. And its gross. If anything, blame Chan and the O for this one, no running from 8:23 in the 3rd, thats retarded. Mario and the D played well for the most part.
  23. Mario outplayed Watt today, but thats not good enough apparently. I will never complain when a player doesnt want to sign with buffalo, some of the fans are such thankless, miserable, know-it-all, loudmouthed pieces of white trash. Why would anybody choose to come here when no matter what they do, the "fans"insist they suck, have no heart, dont try hard, etc... It's really disturbing. rant over
